High MrJoneser, Direct in substrate with lamp not to close but on after 1-2 days because they move towards light and heat. And then spray them every day 1-2 times with a spray bottle to keep the soil around it moist. You do not want to try the other methods... I did and fucked up a lot of seeds when I just started to grow with the glas water method, the wet coffee filter in a zip bag, the wet paper towel between plates, the cotton pads between plates, the wet paper towel inside a zip bag. I never had a 100% germination till I started a few years ago with putting the seed direct in substrate and spray moist with watter bottle... 100% for a whole lot of seeds! Put the seed 0.5 cm under the soil. Spray the soil around the seed moist with a spray bottle... 5-10 times spraying is enough... 3 to 4 days when they show their first 2 leaves. Happy Growing! 😋

There are many different ways of germinating a seed and all are relatively free from the worry of disease as long as you wash your hands and use clean equipment. I take a clean glass of water and drop the seed in it... I then completely encase it in aluminum foil (to keep it dark and keep dust etc out) and put it on top of my refrigerator (to keep it warm). The tap root has generally popped out of the seed casing by the next day or two and I carefully place it, tap root down, into a small hole I've poked in my soil and cover it gently with soil and pat it gently to make sure the soil is pressed up against the seed. I then spray sufficient water around where the seed is that the soil is probably moistened down about an inch and put it in my tent under lights (keeps it warm). Seeds will germinate in a couple of days... But that's MY method... as I say, there are a LOT of different methods and you just have to choose one that makes YOU feel comfortable. Good luck!
