I would not be defoliating your plant, its still small and the canopy is not yet developed enough.
One rule of thumb for the future is to only remove the bigger fan leaves leaves that are blocking other sites below from getting light. This combined with trying to keep the tent floor/medium surface in shade and no direct light beams hitting them are good things to keep in mind when thinking about removing leaves. Also the plant uses the leaves to make energy and grow so its not the best thing to remove any of them when not needed.
