Cutting branches 2 weeks into flower

I am not sure how much defoliation or even whole branches to take off... I have hundreds of tops, I’ve been leaving anything in the 10-12” canopy area but some are not cresting the top net... should I cut the branches off of the ones that didn’t make it past top net???

take leaves that are covering buds first off its because your hydro the excessive amount of tops take the spindley ones off at the bottom inside the canopy if they get light they will develop more

She took a LONG time to get big enough to flip to flower. I grow in fabric pots and organic soil. I think I over watered in the beginning, but could I have also defoliated too much, too early? How do I know how much water and when? How much defoliation is too much?
