I’m wondering what I should do about this bud rot issue starting to develop on my plant. I trimmed off the affected area but I’m wondering if I might have to cut more off or harvest early? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Ach! You're making me cry over MY issue with this! I had bud rot on my Blackberry Moonrocks... After making some paranoid decisions, and LEARNING from them, here's what I'm going to suggest you do: Yes, cut out the rot, then spray that area with a 1% hydrogen peroxide solution (if you have 3% hydrogen peroxide, just mix 1 part of it with 2 parts water). This will kill the spores - but don't spray it so much that you're soaking it... Then you simply need to monitor your plants VERY CAREFULLY every single day to detect any other sites that may develop (and they probably will)... Examine every single bud... One plant of mine first showed it in the main cola... another plant, it showed up in one of the lowest buds... Cut them out as soon as you see them and do the spray again. And get some fans going - even outside... the fans will help reduce the humidity which is what makes this happen. YOU are going to have to determine when you should harvest or how long you can keep her going... it's just a judgement on your part - there are no "rules" here. I thought I had ONE plant that had escaped the issue - but it didn't as I found some on her just a couple of days ago... she was close enough to harvest that I chopped her top half and it's now hanging (and btw, found a little tiny bit of rot as I was trimming her - so THAT got cut out as well and all the kief that the rot had fallen into was pitched, too...). Me, personally? I'm never growing outdoors again! Bugs, rot, foxtailing... ugh. Good luck.... hope you can salvage a good deal of her harvest!

Use a SCROG net to space out branches, in order to improve airflow. Defoliate anything unrepairable at the node (v part) as soon as u see it going pale. If ya see bushy crowded spots of fans, move em or thin em out for airflow. There’s certain times when all my potted gals get mildew, even indoor plants. It’s like getting gnats, ya just deal with it. Don’t be discouraged. It happens to everyone.

High Evoluto, Bud rot is spread to plants by dusty gray spores, usually in wind or water. If your plants are never exposed to these spores, they will never get bud rot. Unfortunately, the spores can easily be carried to your plant by a breeze, rain, from contact with animals, or even from nearby plants. Dormant spores can survive in many conditions only to affect your crops another time. It’s much more effective to try to prevent the conditions that allow bud rot to grow than to try to protect your buds from any contact with spores. That being said, infected buds can spread millions of spores and must be immediately and carefully moved away from your plants. If you see rot then toss carefully so the rot can’t spread millions of spores over your other buds The fungus will never germinate if you keep buds in great environmental conditions. The spores are also more likely to take residence in your buds if there is some sort of “wound” on the plant. Possible wounds that can let Bud Rot fungus in include cracks in the stem from wind or over-training, damage from caterpillars, snails, worms, white powdery mildew, other pests, and larva. Any injury or weak point can be a good point of entry for bud rot spores into the plant. Bud Rot needs wet or humid conditions to thrive. Even if your plant gets exposed to spores, you can usually prevent a bud rot infection by providing your cannabis with a moderate, dry, breezy environment But this is much easier indoors than outdoors. So the only thing that I can see you doing to prevent budrot right now is to place a fan near your plant to create a breezy environment. Goodluck!

Bud Root does not need a wound to infect from my experience, it just needs high humidity and active spores to be present. The best way to combat is it lots of good airflow and trying to not let the buds get to wet where they sit and the mold spores take over. Much like a brick of cheese in the fridge. From your posted pic I'm not seeing anything that's to bad. One option would be to try and shield it from rain, but if the RH for the day is in the 80%'s its hard to do anything about it. Bud rot is caused by a certain mold getting into your plant through a wound on it. The wound is Usually close to the ground. Once it's in, it's in. Some people try to save what they can, some chop the plant and start over. It's a matter of preference. If it isn't too bad, I chop the plant early. If I can noticably see it without picking at my buds and see it at a decent amount of buds, I chop it down and burn it. I hope this helps.
