February 23, 2024 Day 8 Both plants were watered today with 250 ml PHed to 5.8 around the whole surface. I plan to bump it up to 500 ml next watering possibly with recharge. I'd like to note that both plants look identical. Even both have the exact same yellow leaves. I think they are hungry. The recharge should bring the soil back to life. I probably should have started the recharge today, but I don't want to add anything that will cause any stress. It's strange. They are both growing perfectly. But the leaves are yellow. I may ask a question about this issue. First I'll try the recharge though. The lighting is perfect. I haven't had to change a thing yet. PPFD is the same, power is still at 30% and the distance is about a half inch shorter. I'll switch to DLI when they start getting nodes. I'll also switch to discuss individual plants at the same time. The environment is also near perfect. Temps are 77° during the day and around 68 at night. I think I'll increase the temp to 70° or 72° at night. That should improve the VPD as well. Currently it hovers around 0.77 kPa. I'd like it to be around 0.85 kPa. I'll also slowly drop the RH down through the course of this week. It's in the sweet spot range, but I want it around 60% by the end of the week. It should put the VPD to about 0.95 kPa. Perfect for Veg. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.6° RH: 71.7% VPD: 0.82 kPa February 24, 2024 Today we start to focus on these yellow leaves. I've decided that it's definitely a deficiency and maybe the soil needs that slight boost. So to help things along a bit, I added 1/4 tsp of Recharge to the gallon today. I gave 250 ml to both ladies, but this time I covered them up with a Starbucks cup. It seemed to do what I wanted. The goal was to get more outside soil moisture to promote the roots to spread out. However, I don't necessarily want to soak the base with a new nutrient. Hopefully, the roots will grow into the nutrient rich soil outside of the cup. As for watering itself, I feel like I'm not watering enough to prepare the soil for late veg. I feel like 250 ml every other day was fine for the early seedling stage, but I need the soil to be moist throughout the container by the end of the week. I'd like to see a tiny bit or runoff. In theory, the roots should evenly spread throughout the container and take more time to grow down. It may increase the veg time however. I don't really want that, but I also don't want underwhelming plants. As for tackling the yellowing, hopefully it goes away in a day or 2. It should if a deficiency is the issue. I'd also like to mention the temp is a bit low today. 16° outside. That being said, the tent temp is currently at 70° but should be climbing throughout the rest of the day. Hopefully in the next couple of hours. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.4° RH: 67.6% VPD: 0.90 kPa February 25, 2024 I have a feeling I was right about more water. The soil moisture level has dropped to 35% and I definitely need it to stay around 45% while I continue getting the entire container. That being said, I may do another 250 ml today. If not, I'll do 500 ml tomorrow. Half of the watering will be done with the domes off and the other half will have domes on like last time as to not over water the plants. Speaking of plants, these 2 looks great. Still yellowing leaves, but it seems to be going away. The leaves are nice and broad from what I can tell so far. But it's just the beginning. Also, the first set of true leaves is now on its own node and has started to stretch a bit. The Seedling stage is almost over. Welcome to the Veg stage. Starting next week, I'll be adding the Advanced Nutrients 3 part base along with Recharge. I do have Bud Candy, so I'll be adding that as well. Very small doses though. I want to see how they do without a massive regimen of nutrients, although I have a feeling I'll be needing them. At least I'm mostly set up for the Flowering stage. There's just a few things I need. Bud factor x, Big Bud, B-52, Rhino Skin and Bud Ignitor. Hopefully I'll be getting those in the next couple of weeks. Especially because of the super short veg time this strain is supposed to have. I'll need it all in like 2 to 3 weeks. Anyway, that should be all for the day. Lighting is fine. Temp is still a bit low this morning, but I'm certain it'll be perfect in a couple of hours. It's not freezing out today. Update: I decided to water in the 250 ml Recharge after all without the dome this time. Tomorrow I'll water another 250 ml with domes on and so forth until the container is properly watered. I'll stop using the domes when the plants get too big. Probably before the container is watered. But I'll still continue the outside watering until then. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73° currently RH: 63.5% estimated VPD: 0.94 kPa estimated (The estimations are based on the averages of 2 probes. One at soil level and one just above the seedlings. The RH is vastly different between the two. It's mostly due to the small humidifier in the center. It covers all of the plants, but doesn't lift up enough to get to the canopy probe. So the canopy probe is at 47.6% while the probe at soil level is 81.4%. Same thing for the VPD. Just used the average of the 2 probes.) February 26, 2024 As I said yesterday, I watered in 250 ml today with domes on. This will be the last dome on watering. They are already just barely touching the sides. Anyway, 250 ml of Recharge today. Nothing else to do today. The yellowing seems to have stopped, but it's still yellow and not turning green yet. Regardless, they are in great shape. Nice growth. Lighting is at 280 ppfd. DLI: 18.1 mol/m²/d The plants are also about 2 3/4" tall or 6 cm. Honestly, every time I hit this part of the seedling stage, I freak out because the plants don't grow. It's just the roots that are spreading right now, hence the extra watering. I have to keep up with the spread. So far I'm hoping that's working. I'll keep up with the 250 ml per day for the rest of this week. Then I'll move to 500 ml every other day for week 3. Then I should be good to go after that. Hopefully I won't have to water much after that until flowering starts. We shall see if my technique is correct. I still have to install the basins and fill them up. Maybe I'll do that after week 3 or until the plants need to be spaced out for size. Which ever comes first. I think it will be based on the water and not size. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.5° RH: 51.6 kPa (currently 70%) VPD: 1.34 kPa (false) (currently 0.83 kPa) February 27, 2024 Today, both ladies got a nice misting and will be getting 250 ml without dome PHed to 6.0 when the water reaches room temp. Either I'm getting used to the yellowing or it's getting better. I can't tell. Hahahaha. Anyway, they are very healthy from what I can tell. The leaves are nice and broad with upward growth is super smoothe. Outward growth is also quite steady. Nothing else for the day so far. I'll update as needed. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.7° RH: 60.6% VPD: 1.16 kPa February 28, 2024 Both ladies got their daily dose of 250 ml water PHed at 5.95 with the moisture level hovering around 50%. I'm not sure if the 250 ml at a time is enough to start penetrating deeper into the soil. However, when I start the 500 ml per watering next week, it should start penetrating deeper. That way the fast growing roots have perfectly moist soil to travel down to. I believe it's time to allow the tap root to dig deep. Lighting is looking really good. Next week, I'll increase the intensity to 350 ppfd or a DLI of 22.7 mol/m²/d. The ideal DLI is 20 mol/m²/d, but I feel like these ladies like the slightly extra light. They may even like even more. They are praying almost perfectly. So I'll leave it alone for now. I think instead of dropping the light distance, I'll increase the power and adjust accordingly. Both of the plants are still fairly light. Not exactly yellow anymore, but still light. I think the boost of base nutrients will help with the possible nitrogen deficiency. I'll also add Cal/Mag. Covering all the primary basics. Plus I don't really have any other nutrients for the veg stage. I'll also start the regular regimen during week 3 of veg. Big Bud, Bud Candy, Tasty Terpenes so far. I'll try to get a few other nutrients that are supposed to be in my regimen as well. I may not be able to get them in time, but if I can, I will. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.4° RH: 62.9% VPD: 1.09 kPa February 29, 2024 It's the last day of this week. As we move into week 2, things will be changing quite a bit. Watering will change and the nutrient regimen will be started. Lighting will also be changing. Everything increased. These two are still a bit light green. Not quite as yellow as before, but I expect that will change in the next day or two, when they start getting the nutrients they clearly need. Lighting will be increased as well. DLI: 22.7 mol/m²/d PAR: 350 ppfd. I may increase the power and leave the light, but I think it will be a mix of both. I'd like to keep the light at 30% for the next few days before the growth really starts. Then I can increase the power. I'd like to keep the light a bit higher than 24" as I believe I have enough power to keep the distance for a good footprint. I'll be changing the watering schedule from 250 ml daily to 500 ml every other day. I also plan to install the bottom feed system as soon as the plants hit the edges of their containers. Given the fact that I'm going to start the Advanced Nutrients 3 part base solution tomorrow, I should see some immediate growth from these two. I'd like to note that both plants are very healthy and look great! One thing I did notice is their height. The rear plant (Tropicana Cookies) is about a half inch taller than the front plant (Tropicana C). However, from the light, the distance is the exact same. That being said, I found that the rear containers soil level is about a half inch lower than that of the front. Interesting indeed. I will keep note of the height as well. If I'm right, the height should remain roughly a half inch difference until I start training. Either way, it's an interesting observation, but won't matter soon enough. The whole canopy will be level anyway. Update: I realized my plants were reaching a bit too much and leaning in toward the light. That being said, they definitely need more light, so I lowered it until I hit a DLI of 19.8 mol/m²/d. That way when I bring it up to 22.7 mol/m²/d it won't be hit so hard immediately. I should have dropped the light down a day or two ago, but oh well. It will be on point for the rest of the grow. Also, the temp is back to normal. Just waiting for the RH to catch up. March 1, 2024 Day 15 A new week and a lot of changes. We are talking watering, nutrients, lighting and RH. First, let's discuss the look of these girls. They have extremely broad leaves and the yellowing was definitely a nutrient deficiency. The tops started turning a very light yellow. A sure sign of a deficiency. I'm not sure what it is though. Nitrogen or Cal/Mag? On of those. I think. They are both 3" tall now and are starting to really stretch. This leads me into the next topic. Nutrient regimen. Today started the Advanced Nutrients 3 part base at 2 ml/gal each and Advanced Nutrients Sensi Cal/Mag extra 2 ml/gal. They also got another dose of Recharge. That being said, out next topic is watering. I have changed up the watering to 500 ml every other day starting today. I'll keep a close eye throughout the day for any over watering issues, but I don't think there will be any. I have the moisture spread well throughout the entire container. No runoff so that's good as well. It means I haven't over watered for such young plants. Now for lighting. The light was dropped last week from 29" to 27.5" but this morning I made some changes. I increased the light intensity up from 30% to 40%. I also raised the light to 28" from the little baby plants. This all increased the light intensity to a happy level. DLI: 22.7 mol/m²/d PAR: 350 ppfd Distance: 28" Finally we are looking at RH. The goal for this week is 60%. With the higher light power level the temp will increase. In turn, the humidity should hover around 60% to 62% with the temp closer to 78°. However, I would like to keep it at 77° for the whole veg stage. That's all for today. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73° RH: 60.3% VPD: 1.09 kPa March 2, 2024 Kind of running into an issue with feeding and watering. The containers aren't as moist as I would have hoped and I'm starting to think the nitrogen levels are still low. I think I'll increase the whole regimen by 50% and double the Cal/Mag. I'm also considering feeding 250 ml on off days. For this week, I'll use nutrient water and no plain water. I'll switch to every other watering, next week. Just until I can get them to catch up. They are both still very yellow. As for lighting, it's perfect. They are both reaching just right. Perfect praying. I will most likely increase the power level to 60% next week to match the middle/ late veg stage. I'd really like to be at 100% power by the middle of flowering. Other than the yellow leaves they look healthy as can be. Super broad leaves and strong stalks. I have fans running in the tent for circulation but nothing is directly hitting the plants. That will hopefully keep the stalk malleable for training which will start when they can reach the edge of the containers without folding the plant in half. I would like to see maybe 5" of standing stalk from the base. Much easier to water when the soil is free of too low hanging branches. This time around, I will do my best to keep these well defoliated. However, I don't want to go overboard. According to FastBuds, the buds are super dense and the branches need to be supported and spread out for air flow. They didn't say anything about leaf coverage. I'm guessing they will be super busy as it goes with most indicas. We shall see though. I may ask for help from the community for defoliation. I'm no good at it. At least not with autoflowers. I feel I'll have a lot more control with photoperiod, but I like the autoflowers. I have plenty of photoperiod seeds, just haven't had the space to grow them. Some day, I'll grow some. Probably a better idea to grow them sooner rather than later. Maybe I'll run them after my Sour Diesel/Blue Dream run. That will be after the competition I'm joining around 4/20. Those will be autos as well, so it should go pretty quickly. Update: I decided to water in 250 ml after all. I didn't water at the base though. I feel that is crucial in not overwatering the young plants. When I water the 500 ml tomorrow, I'll water the base. It seems to be working. Also, I am wondering if I should do a foliar spray with the nutrients just to help speed up the nitrogen intake. I'll have to research if I should or not. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.1° RH: 60.9% VPD: 1.10 kPa March 3, 2024 So I realized that I need to compensate for the complete lack of nutrients in the soil and bumped the feed from 2 ml to 3 ml for all the nutrients except for Recharge. They got their 500 ml watering today. The bases were watered as well. A tiny bit of drooping, but they were just fed and the water needs to seep in. Plus the lower half of the containers are still fairly dry. So that should certainly spread down and even the soil out. They also haven't recovered from the nitrogen deficiency completely, but I'm sure that will come with time. They aren't slow, at least not that I can tell. They seem to be growing at a decent rate. They are both the same size and nearly identical. Even down to the nitrogen deficiency. What's interesting is the 2 Banana Purple Punch's don't seem to be as hungry as these two and they didn't show signs of it until just yesterday. But I'm pretty sure I caught it in time. Nothing to worry about... I hope. Lol... Anyway, I had to raise the light and inch. They are starting to stretch and I'd like to keep the DLI at 22.7 mol/m²/d for the rest of the week. But I may also mess with the light mid week and increase the power up to 50%. I'll probably have to raise the light, but then next week I can move right into 60% and increase the DLI. I'll decide over night. Might be a good idea. Getting the extra power down to the plants so they can grow like mad. The environment has been nearly perfect for the last couple days. The RH is spot on and hasn't really moved much at all. The temps have been comfortable at 77° during the day and 70° for lights out. I plan to keep it that way for the rest of this week. Next week, I'll decrease the temp a bit and drop the RH to 58%. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.5° RH: 62.1% VPD: 1.11 kPa March 4, 2024 Lots to do today. Let's start with watering. Both plants got their 250 ml where I don't water the base of the plants. They are still pretty yellow, so I may increase the Grow base nutrient a bit. I really need the nitrogen deficiency to catch up now. This time is absolutely crucial for growth and I know they aren't growing at their fullest potential. Hopefully the boost from tomorrow's feeding will show improvement overnight. I may even do a light foliar mist as well. Something to get more nitrogen in the leaves. Maybe I'll do it with just the base grow nutrient. Reservoir instillation is coming next week. So I really need the containers to have a bit of runoff when I install them. I may have to do another 500 ml after tomorrow as well. The containers just aren't moist enough yet. Hopefully it will be fine by the end of the week. As I mentioned yesterday, I messed with the light today. I increased the power level up to 50% and dropped the light about an inch for a new intensity. DLI: 27.2 mol/m²/d PAR: 420 ppfd ( totally on purpose 🤣) Power: 50% Distance: 27" This is prep for next week as the light power will be increased to 60% and DLI increased. The goal is to get the light down to between 24" and 26" from the canopy. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.0° RH: 62.0% VPD: 1.14 kPa March 5, 2024 Both plants are looking really nice. They are both still a bit light green though. I'm sure in time, they will both be growing like mad in no time. They are getting close to the edge of their containers. Right on que. In 2 days, they should be big enough to install the basins. Hopefully the roots will be close to the bottom where the wicks can work their magic. I watered in 500 ml today. I decided that I needed to increase the nutrients as we are coming to the end of week 2. So now I have all nutrients at 4 ml/gal except the Recharge of course. I may increase that for next week. I'm not sure that I've caught up to the nitrogen issue though. That's still a concern. I really want to do a foliar spray, but I don't know if Advanced Nutrients are foliar compatible. I had to move the light up a half inch today. It's not much, but I'm keeping the PAR at 420 ppfd until next week. The environment is spot on for the week so far. 78° and 60.5% humidity for the day so far. As for last night, temp at 70.7° and 62.5% humidity. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.1° RH: 61.9% VPD: 1.14 kPa March 6, 2024 Both plants got watered 450 ml today. That's what was left in the jug, so that's what they got. I did end up watering the bases as well. I need moisture throughout the soil ASAP. The light green is still there. So I'm not sure they have enough nitrogen yet. I'll definitely be increasing the nutrition dose again at the start of next week. I didn't mess with the lighting today. I'll check it tomorrow and adjust as necessary. The environment is looking great as well. It's a bit warm out today, so the tent is hovering at 78°, but the RH is still at 61% wonderful! Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.9° RH: 61.7% VPD: 1.15 kPa March 7, 2024 Boh ladies got their watering today. I started with 250 ml and waited an hour to add the other 250 ml. I also increased the base grow nutrient to 8 ml from 4 ml as well as Recharge. That was increased from a quarter teaspoon to a half teaspoon. Both plants are still showing signs of nitrogen deficiency. So the increase in grow nutes should do it. I'll also be able to water in a liter pretty soon. It won't be tomorrow, but maybe the next watering after that. We shall see how things go. Lighting is fine still. I didn't move anything. The plants aren't tall enough for the intensity to increase. Either way, tomorrow I'll be increasing the power and intensity. They should love the change. Especially at this age. The environment is also spot on still. I'll be decreasing the humidity down to 58% tomorrow and will keep the temp the same around 77°. It should be perfect for week 3 of veg. I expect the flowering stage to start in a couple of weeks. Maybe a week and a half. At least that's what I should be expecting according to FastBuds. I'd also like to note that both plants have been rotating all on their own. It's intriguing how they are doing that. I'll have to start rotating in a couple weeks when they get bigger. Unless I have to run a net, then no rotation obviously. Still super interesting. March 8, 2024 Day 22 Light Specs: Power: 70% Distance: 25.5" DLI: 32.4 mol/m²/d PAR: 500 ppfd Plant Specs: Height: 4.5" Nodes: 2 Leaf Sets: 3 A new week! Week 3 to be exact. So this week is going to focus on lighting and plant growth. Feeding is a thing, but it's not really changing except for the increase. But watering will be the same. 500 ml per day until the container is fully moist. To start, let's talk about the plants themselves. Both ladies look fantastic. They have a wonderful structure but the leaves are still light green. They have 3 nodes and side branches popping out now. I expect her to double or triple in size over the next week as they start to really grow. They should take off any day. Like tomorrow or the next day. I'll be training once they have 4 to 5 nodes. I was thinking about earlier, but they aren't big enough to tie down yet. I've finally installed the basins. The aren't active yet, but will be when training starts. That being said, I had to mess with the light and changed the DLI to 32.5 mol/m²/d. I increased the power to 70% and have the distance at 25.5". This should be perfect for this week. Next week I'll be increasing the power again. Hopefully I can get the distance to around 24" for the rest of the grow. I'll accept 22", but I would much rather have the larger footprint. Especially because the plants are spaced out into their own quadrant. I wasn't expecting to go up to 70% power. Today, they got the remaining water from last week at 475 ml. It was the end of the gallon, so there wasn't a point in making up a new gallon for 100 ml. So tomorrow, I'll water in the 500 ml with the new nutrient dose. Micro: 6 ml Grow: 10 ml Bloom: 6 ml Cal/Mag: 6 ml Recharge: 1/4 tsp Bud Candy: 6 ml This regimen will be for this week. I may add a couple more if I can get them in time. Like Voodoo Juice: 6 ml Piranha: 6 ml Sensizym: 6 ml Rhino Skin: 6 ml (if I can find it) Next is the environment. It's near perfect. I'll be dropping the RH down to 58% for the week and will hold it there for the rest of the veg stage. I'll be keeping the temp around the same at 77°. I might drop it down to 76° if I can. The extra power with the light will increase the temp, so I'll need to compensate for that. I have both circular fans just above the canopy, making a very light breeze to help the plants grow up to be big and strong. The exhaust fan remains at power level 2, which seems to be perfect. It will most likely drop down to level 1. But that's because it's exactly at 58% humidity. Anyway, this is the setup for the week. I'll be keeping a close eye today to make sure they are taking to the light and have no issues. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.9° RH: 60.7% VPD: 1.13 kPa March 9, 2024 Not much going on today. Both ladies were fed 500 ml of the new nutrient dose. I also did a foliar spray with cal/mag. I know you should wait for lights out, but my light isn't bright enough yet to really cause any issues. And the air flow is set to power level 1. Same thing with the exhaust. I'll also do a second foliar spray at lights out. Hopefully the foliar spray with the added nutrients helps. They're still a bit light green. So I'm expecting to see some improvement over the next day or so. No need to change the light yet. Soon though. I'll have to raise the light up a couple inches. The environment is still looking great! 58% humidity and 77° flat. Perfect. It does bounce a bit between 76° and 78° but hovers mostly at 77° all day. Night temps are still about 70°, so that's also a bonus. As for the plants, they are starting to grow pretty fast. The leaves are still a bit like green, but they're robust and getting pretty big. The stems are super strong looking, but I haven't touched the plants to find out. No touching for as long as I can. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76° RH: 59.9% VPD: 1.21 kPa March 10, 2024 Today there wasn't a lot to do. I watered in 250 ml and I'll water in another 250 ml this afternoon. I also checked the DLI. It increased by 0.1 mol/m²/d, so no point in changing it. As for the plants themselves, they are looking great! Growth is taking off. The branches are getting long. Another couple of inches for these two and training can begin. So far, Tropicana Cookies is the largest plant of the four plants in the tent. She is 6.5" tall, where as everyone else is 5.5". However, they are all at the same stage in growth. It's interesting. I may rotate these ladies around and see how things go. I feel like the left back quadrant grows the best plants. My last grow, in this quadrant, I grew a 52" 21.5 oz Gorilla Cookies. It was insane. This seems to be the case this time around as well, so I may rotate them every week and hopefully I get 2 plants of massive size. Tropicana C looks just as good as her sister plant, but an inch shorter. I'm sure it won't matter in a week or two. Anyway, both plants are still pretty light green. I'm not sure if I should be concerned or is it fine? I'm going to research more and maybe ask a question. However, I wonder why this is at all. I've added plenty of nitrogen and Cal/Mag to help feed said nitrogen, but still they are light green. But then it comes down to how they're growing. They are growing quite nicely, so I'm not sure I should be concerned. I've also only done 2 foliar sprays. So I'm sure it will take a few days to start showing signs of improvement. However, it has been over 2 weeks. The next step is a massive dose of nitrogen. The environment is the same. A bit warmer today, but only a bit. The humidity stayed the same though. So everything looks great. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.9° RH: 60.2% VPD: 1.16 kPa March 12, 2024 Not much going on early today. I watered in 250 ml and may do another 250 ml later in this afternoon like I did yesterday. The moisture has finally hit the bottom of the containers, but the outsides are still dry. I need the WHOLE container to be moist. I'll also check the lighting this afternoon. I will need to raise the light maybe an inch. They are starting to grow fast now. Not quite as fast as I would have hoped, but with the lack of nitrogen and me not knowing how much to give, I'm afraid this is what I'm dealing with. Maybe the extra boost of nitrogen will work. If not, I'm going to increase the dose to 16 ml/gal for 2 waterings. The environment hasn't changed one bit. I'm super impressed by this. Especially because one of my main issues I've had for previous grows was environmental. This run, I'm able to keep it level. As for the plants. They are still light green, almost like they were intended to be so. Especially because both are doing it. It could also be that this strain is particularly hungry. However, they are both growing the fastest of the group and have super broad seven finger fan leaves. The side branches are starting to come along as well. I'd give it four more inches and I can start training. The leaves have also met the edges of the containers. That should mean the taproot is at the bottom of the container. I'm not sure though. The way I watered in the moisture, slowly over time, may have controlled the direction of the tap root and held it in the center of the soil longer than normal. No idea if that's good or bad, but I feel a bigger and longer taproot will help with later root growth. Like root ball for days. The environment is still spot on. Being around 68° to 70° at night and 76° to 78° during the day. Anyway, that should be all for today. I'll update later on if I decide to do the extra watering and light change. Update: I didn't end up watering the plants again. I may water later on, but chances are I won't. Same with the light. It's roughly at 550 ppfd so it's all good. What I did end up doing is rotating the plants. Now Tropicana C is in the back. Tropicana Cookies is getting noticably larger than her sister plant, so I figure if I move them, the light should do better in the back and Tropicana C will catch up. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.8° RH: 58.6% VPD: 1.19 kPa March 12, 2024 A bit of a to do today. I had to start training Tropicana Cookies. She is taking off earlier than Tropicana C and is almost 2" taller as well. So I tied down the top as one should and leveled the canopy with her sister plant. I'm hoping that helps and the branches get as tall. I also tucked a couple of the big fan leaves to open up light to the branches. So every branch is exposed to the light. I'm also going to do my best to avoid a trellis. Unless I really have to I'm order to keep the canopy level across the whole tent. So far, I have had zero luck growing plants of the same size. My last grow, one plant cannibalized another plant and nearly the other two in there, but it grew to such a massive size, it was worth the 21.5 oz dry yield from the one plant. This time around I'd rather have all four plants in the tent be the exact same size. They are supposed to have super dense buds and massive yields without growing to a massive size. I'll be watering 500 ml later today. The pots are light and they are drying out a lot faster than I thought. So I may start watering a liter in next week. I should get some runoff and then I can activate the bottom feed system. The basins hold a gallon of water. I feel that it may be a bit of extra work, but it helps to keep a better eye on the plants. And the reservoirs don't get gross as quickly. I also mix my nutrients in a 1 gallon water jug. That also takes a bit longer than filling up a 5 gallon bucket, but it's much more efficient. Not to mention, I can change the nutrient regimen for each plant if need be. For example, if I can't get this nitrogen deficiency to go away, I'll add more nitrogen to these two plants and leave the other 2 in the tent alone. However, I feel all the plants are suffering from nitrogen deficiency, but the Banana Purple Punch string sharing the tent has nice dark leaves and is being fed the exact same nutrients and has the exact same soil from the same container. Lighting is looking pretty good especially since I trained down Tropicana Cookies, so I don't have to move it yet. I will check later this afternoon to see if it needs to be adjusted. The environment is still spot on. A perfectly cool 68° to 70° at night and a warm 76° to 78° during the day. The humidity is still on point from day and night at 59%. I think I'll keep it the same for next week as well. When flowering starts, I'll then change the temp and humidity down. Maybe drop the temp down to 75° during the day and leave the night temp the same. I might drop the humidity down to 55% for the first three weeks of flowering and then gradually drop it down to 45% by the last week of flower. It should be a perfect transition. I will also back the light off in the last two weeks of flower. It should end up being right where I want it. I'd also like to mention that even thought these plants are suffering nitrogen deficiency, they are growing at a really good rate. I'm still hoping for the high nitrogen dose to work it's magic. Update: I decided to water in 250 ml instead of 500 ml. The containers are moist everywhere. Not completely soaked, but moist enough. I'd also like to note that Tropicana Cookies has a bit of clawing. What's weird is that this plant has shown signs of nitrogen deficiency through the whole plant, but a couple of leaves are clawing. It's definitely not overwatering. But how could it be nitrogen toxicity? Unless this particular strain has lighter colored leaves. It's a bit confusing. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.8° RH: 59.1% VPD: 1.18 kPa March 13, 2024 Both ladies got their morning 250 ml today. They will get another 250 ml this afternoon. Starting next week, I'll do a liter at once then activate the bottom feed systems. Once the bottom feed systems are active, I won't need to top water for the majority of the rest of the grow. When the plants get big enough (over 40") , the bottom feed system won't be enough. I decided to tuck the leaves on Banana Purple Punch B and had to readjust the tie down on Banana Purple Punch A. Just a little. I honestly forgot to anchor the base and the plant just straightened up at an angle. Now it's fixed, and they are even in height. The light got lifted and inch as well. The DLI was at 37.6 mol/m²/d and I dropped it back down to normal. The goal is to find that perfect praying position. Also, I found a leaf that looks like it was chewed. I couldn't find anything, but I sprayed the tent with pesticide anyway. It's organic or something but apparently super safe with no nasty chemicals. I threw the bottle out about a year ago. No clue what the brand is, but I remember researching and finding it's pretty good stuff. Oh well. Anyway, the environment is still right where it needs to be. It's honestly baffling to me. How is it so perfect this time around? Maybe it's the lack of extreme weather? Or I finally just have my bedroom environment dialed in. I keep it around 71° and 45% humidity. Very comfortable. Update: I only had 750 ml left in the jug, so I watered in 175 ml for each of the 4 plants in the tent. Another Update: I just discovered that the nutrient dose is too low by about half. I'll be adjusting that tomorrow and feed in 500 ml at once to let it all seep in immediately. Too bad I didn't find this earlier. Although, both plants are growing nicely regardless of the nitrogen issue. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.3° RH: 60.0% VPD: 1.13 kPa March 14, 2024 The last day of week 3 and we are seeing signs of the female sex. Wonderful! Since that started, I did a little bend on Tropicana C and readjusted Tropicana Cookies with a second tie down. So far the method, as always, works wonders. The branches are nearly level with the bend and the color seems to be getting a bit darker. Tomorrow when I water to runoff is when I'll increase the dose way up to where it should be. As for the plants, Tropicana Cookies is robust and bushy. She's definitely the stronger of the two. Great fat leaves. Well spaced nodes. Not too for but not too close. Tropicana C is also looking pretty good. Nearly identical spacing. Maybe a tiny bit shorter, but she is catching up to her sister plant quickly. For training, as I have always done tie down LST, I have noticed that my plants seem to grow faster and bigger this way. Normally an accidental topping gives me a bigger plant, but I think I can get better quality of I don't top at all. More time to grow and more time to produce massive dense buds. The lighting stayed the same today. I'll be changing that tomorrow. I may increase the intensity again, or I may drop it down to 22". Because the plants are so spaced out, the footprint matters a whole lot. 24" from the canopy opens the light up from wall to wall with the concentration as far out as the plants are. It gives a much better blanket of powerful light. So maybe I will increase the power after all. Only to 80% though. I'm sure I'll be at 100% in the next two weeks. I'm going to try to get the DLI around 42 mol/m²/d. It calls for 40 to 45, so 42 is good and a bit closer to the low end so I don't cause any light stress. Or heat stress for that matter. The environment was a little on the cool side last night and this morning, so the VPD is a bit off. The humidity is also a bit high. 61% instead of the 58% I was really striving for. It fixed itself late morning, so I'm not worried, but it wasn't perfect. And that must be noted. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.9° RH: 59.7% VPD: 1.16 kPa

March 15, 2024 Day 29 Welcome to week 4 of veg. Based on showing their sex to be female, pre-flower should be starting in just a few days. That being said, I need to comment about the growth of these two plants. Despite the lighter green color, they have responded very well to the ample watering and begin training. Both have long branches that are already growing over the bent tops. I'll definitely be pulling them down in a matter of a day or two. Also, my concern with the height difference is now over. They are both nice and level now. I watered them both 1 liter with the new nutrient regimen. Things I didn't do today. I didn't change the light. I don't think I need to quite yet. They are both still in veg and may still be for a few days to a week. I'll change the light when pre-flower begins. I also didn't activate the bottom feed system yet. After watering the plants the full liter, I wanted to see if it would stress them out at all. It didn't, so I'll activate tomorrow. Honestly, I was actually distracted all day. But I still managed to get the watering in. The bottom feed system isn't needed quite yet anyway. I'm just trying to prepare for the rest of the grow. Anyway, that's all for now. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.7° RH: 60.9% VPD: 1.08 kPa March 16, 2024 A lot to do today. I had to do everything I didn't do yesterday, then do some training. The bottom feed systems were activated today. The roots aren't quite there yet, but it should be fine. The wicks won't soak the soil or anything. What will happen is that eventually the roots will grow to the bottom of the containers and then they will start to really pull water from the bottom. These are only 1 gallon reservoirs, so I don't need to empty them or anything. I just clean the basins every other week. As for lighting, I didn't change anything today. The distance is now 24" and the PAR is 600 ppfd. I may check later today and I crease the power to 80%. If the reading is around 650, I'll leave it there. If it's higher than that, I'll drop it back down until pre-flower. Speaking of pre-flower, now that the plants have shown their sex, they have definitely started to take off. That being said, they both got a full training today. Every branch was tied down to make an open and level canopy. If these grow as I expect they will, I should get a couple 24" to 36" plants. And if I play my cards right and don't make any mistakes, maybe I'll get a good 8 oz out of each. Maybe even more. As FastBuds describes it, this strain grows super dense buds with massive yields without getting too big. I'm going to try to get the most I can. Afterall, I now have to grow plants that yield 20 oz from what I've done with my last run. However, I don't expect them to get as big or take as long as that one did. Anyway, the environment is a bit off. Kind of low temp at 75° with kind of high humidity at 61% . It's definitely messing with the VPD. I'll definitely have to work with it a bit today. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.3° RH: 59.9% VPD: 1.09 kPa March 17, 2024 Not a lot to do today. The bottom feeding systems are now completely active and working wonders. The soil moisture level is perfectly set at 30%. I've found with using these for a few runs, the best moisture level is around 30% to 35% for veg and 40% to 50% for flower. I raised the light 2" today. I'll increase the intensity in a day or 2. It's doesn't quite need it yet. Currently it's hanging out around 575 ppfd. I'd like to see 600 ppfd to 650 ppfd for the rest of the week. I'll definitely be increasing the light power when they get a bit more established. I am concerned with the lack of praying leaves. Hopefully raising the light will cause some praying. Although, I wonder if it's a matter of brightness or lack there of. Like is a brighter light going to induce praying leaves? Doesn't seem like it, but if the light is higher and the praying isn't working, then it has to be more intensity to induce praying. I'll check back later today to see if the praying has been induced. The environment is still doing well. The temp is a bit low, but the humidity is still a bit too high at 60%. I think that if I increase the power of the light, the temp will increase and the humidity will drop down a bit. Update: I decided to increase the power to 80%. That should help with the temp and humidity. The DLI is 41.5 mol/m²/d. This should be perfect for this stage in the grow. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.0° RH: 59.2% VPD: 1.14 kPa March 17, 2024 Both ladies look great today. They are definitely the same phenome and have been treated the exact same. All branches were adjusted today with a couple new ones tied down. They are definitely doing much better with the proper amount of nutrients. Starting to get a darker green. Still lightish, but definitely not as bad as before. The bottom feed system couldn't be any better. The soil is now 36% throughout with a tiny bit more on the bottom of the container. The initial setup pulled in a half gallon and now it should be the rest of the week for it to drain. However, from my experience, never let the reservoir dry out. It will cause blockage in the wicks. Always keep water in the reservoir. As for lighting, nothing changed today. Both plants have a slight pray going. So this is definitely the sweet spot. I may have to raise the light tomorrow as these plants are growing quite quickly now. I'll make the adjustment to see better praying. The environment is finally back to normal for this week in growth. That being said, the temp is perfect at 76.5° and the humidity is at a wonderful 56%. That's all for today. I'll update with any changes. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.8° RH: 59.8% VPD: 1.16 kPa March 18, 2024 Both ladies had some adjustments done today. Not much, but enough to keep the canopy level. The bottom feed systems are completely active now. They took in about 1/2 gallon initially. It will slow down of course to match what the plants and soil needs. I'm not changing the light today. Maybe a day or two. But when I do, I think I'll leave the 80% and just match the DLI I need for the next week. I may have to increase the power to 90% to keep the footprint I have. As for the plants, they look great. Taking well to the training. I expect I'll be doing more adjustments tomorrow. March 19, 2024 Well, as I said yesterday, the tie downs needed a decent adjustment. I also pulled a branch down. I'd also like to note that the main stem is nice and thick. Hardened off and ready to hold the weight of a promising yield. The basins are at about 1/4 full now. They should last the next couple of days without issue. Lighting hasn't been changed. I'll raise the light tomorrow and increase the power to 90% next week. Environmentally, everything is sound. The temp is around 76° and the humidity is just at 56%. A well balanced place of happiness. Note to self: do not get rip roaring stoned before writing in my diary. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.8° RH: 56.7% VPD: 1.21 kPa March 20, 2024 Today was a bit busy. So far I tied down some new branches that were finally long enough to tie down. Very happy with the growth so far. Both plants look great now. But they are funnily enough suffering from nitrogen toxicity. Roots aren't showing totally yet, so I can only imagine what the root balls look like. Maybe they will get big, following big plants. Neither plant has shown any roots yet, but I expect roots to pop out any day now. The closest is Tropicana Cookies with a couple little roots popping out. We aren't in pre-flower yet, so there's still plenty of room to grow and plenty of time for me to shape my ladies. So far, the way things are going promises a bountiful yield and a full tent. The reservoirs are nearly empty. They will be refilled starting next week. In regards to nutrients, funnily enough, Tropicana Cookies has nitrogen toxicity. It's definitely from the huge boost in nutrients. I'll drop the nutes back down to around 8 ml instead of 12 ml. This next watering will have to be with Cal/Mag. Just to get rid of the toxicity. Then back to 8 ml of base nutrients. As for lighting, I raised the light an inch to keep it at 24" from the canopy. The PAR is around 625 ppfd. I don't need to increase the power level yet, but soon I think. The environment is back to being spot on. The temp is back around 76° to 77° and the humidity is hovering around 56%. The VPD is right where it needs to be. I'm quite happy. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.7° RH: 56.6% VPD: 1.20 kPa March 21, 2024 Not much going on today. Both basins were refilled today with 10 ml instead of 12 ml. I probably should have run the plain water as I originally thought, but then I don't want to lose out on precious nutrients. The nitrogen toxicity should go away. Hell, it might even go away when the plant gets bigger. Speaking of getting bigger, they are taking off now. Both plants are nearly impossible to tell apart. The training is the same, the leaves are the same. The growth is the same. No difference whatsoever. Speaking of training, neither plant needed an adjustment today. Both are looking proper and ready to grow more. Auxiliary branches are starting to stretch and will be tied down when they get a bit longer. The light needed to be raised a half inches today. Just to get that DLI at 40 mol/m²/d. Tomorrow I'll probably increase the power to 90%. The goal is to bring the DLI to 42 mol/m²/d and gradually let the plants grow into a DLI of 45 mol/m²/d. I will try to keep the light at 24" for the whole grow. As I said weeks ago, I'll go as low as 22", but any lower than that and my footprint gets too small. I may have to increase the power to 100% in 2 weeks. And keep the light at 24" or higher. Unless of course I run out of height space, then I have to remove the exhaust fan and left the light to the ceiling of the tent.etd hope it doesn't get to that point. Plants that tall are really difficult to manage in a 3x3 tent. The environment. The effing environment. It's freezing today. Around 21° f. My room has trouble getting over 72° in turn the temp of the tent is suffering at 74°. However, the humidity is still great at 56% to 57% all day. Sometimes it pops up to 58%, but that will change when it gets warmer and I can get my heater to work properly. I like to keep the bedroom at 74° during the day, so the tent hovers around 76° to 77°. March 22, 2024 Day 36 This week we focus mostly on training. It's the last week of veg, or it should be, and they will need all the trainings they can get. So far it's perfectly on point for both plants. They are reaching well past the sides of the containers. They have super strong main trunks with side branches almost as thick. They are sure to hold up some super heavy buds. I'll continue to pull branches down and out for a couple more weeks. I may have to put a SCroG net in as well. I'll probably set it to 18" for when the real stretch starts. Until then, it's adjusting and readjusting the tie downs. I'll also be snipping off the massive leaves from the trunks this week. Just those though. There's no need for any others to be cut off yet. They will most likely need another trimming in a couple of weeks. I increased the light power as expected this week. The height stayed the same at 24" with a DLI of 42 mol/m²/d. That should be fine for the majority of the rest of the grow. I may have to put it to 100% when flowering begins. Tropicana Cookies has a slight bit of nitrogen toxicity. So for this week I dropped the nutrients down to 10 ml instead of 12 ml. Of course after I run some plain water with cal/mag. I'll be doing a half gallon for each plant. Anyway, 12 ml is just too much and I'd rather Tropicana C not get any toxicity. The environment is a bit cool today due to weather. It should warm back up when it gets above freezing out. Currently, the temp is hovering just below 75° and the humidity is around 57%. Not ideal, but in range. It was also really cold last night and the tent temp dropped to 66°. I gotta turn my heater up more I guess. Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.5° RH: 56.2% VPD: 1.17 kPa March 23, 2024 Both plants look fantastic now. I think the nitrogen toxicity on Tropicana Cookies is going away already. Honestly it shouldn't have been much of a toxicity in the first place, so I think we are fine now. Both ladies got the main stem fan leaves slipped today. I also removed the lowest node from Tropicana Cookies. They weren't promising in the first place. I may also remove them from Tropicana C. We will see. They will be needing water tomorrow I think. The moisture content of the soil is hanging around 53%. It's a bit high for this stage, so I'll let the plants catch up before refilling the reservoirs. Both plants also got some adjustments done. They haven't grown upward at all. But they have been spreading out really well. Perfectly level canopies and identical in almost every way. The only difference is my tie down placement. Slightly different, but the same basic structure. I also raised the light today to 26". The DLI was a bit high at 45 mol/m²/d where as it should be at 42. So the 26" lift brought it right where it needs to be. Not to mention the footprint is outstanding. So by the looks of things, I won't need to increase the power anymore. 24" at 90% power provides 45 mol/m²/d. Perfect for the flowering stage. Speaking of flowering, pre-flower is right around the corner. There's white hairs everywhere now. I'm just waiting for the bud sites to start forming and we are good to go. I'll continue training these ladies down through mid stretch or when I have them how I want them. A note: The side branches are pretty thick. I can assume the buds will also be big and thick and dense. I may need a trellis when they start to really stretch. That will come when I finish LST. The environment is looking pretty good today. It's hovering at 75° and climbing a bit. Hopefully it lands at 76° to 77°. The humidity is also really close, hanging out around 57%. Not a bad day. Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.6° RH: 57.0% VPD: 1.15 kPa March 24, 2024 What a nice day for the ladies. Both were massively trained with the canopy completely level. Lots of side branches and auxiliary branches coming gup. Some were tied down finally and the plants are growing right out of the containers. Looking great! They got a half gallon of 8 ml Cal/Mag today. That should reset the nutrients and I can start the 10 ml regimen. Both plants are basically identical with the training done the same to the same branches. They are both showing a nice bit of root structure on the bottoms of the containers. They are also damned close to pre-flower if not already started. I didn't have to move the light today after the training was done. Still at a perfect 42 mol/m²/d. I definitely don't expect to put the light at 100% power. I'm also very happy so far with the health of these plants. They are finally nice and dark. I'm definitely expecting 2 to 3 ft tall plants. If I continue to get this health and growth, I may have some 4 ft plants to deal with. Not complaining. The environment is pretty good regardless of the 20° f weather outside. It's hovering around 75° and a bit high at 58% humidity. No matter, it will adjust on its own by mid day. Nothing to worry about. Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.5° RH: 57.3% VPD: 1.14 kPa March 25, 2024 These two plants are seriously hard to tell apart in pictures. There are differences starting to show now that they are in pre-flower. Tropicana C is looking super nice with a perfectly level canopy. The stretch has started and she's showing it a lot more than Tropicana Cookies. The canopy on Tropicana Cookies is fairly uneven. There's auxiliary branches I pulled down and I'm waiting for them to readjust to my changes. I also had to pull down some of the top node branches. So the uneven canopy is mostly from me, trying to keep the plant within its own quadrant. Both plants have a lot of roots coming out of the bottom of the containers. A great sign that pre-flower has started. Even though one is uneven, both plants are at the final stages of the structure I created for each of them. Tropicana C has the most uniform tops so far and Tropicana Cookies is just as robust if not a bit more so. Hence the extra training. As said before, when the plants get to 18", I'll consider the trellis. I have a feeling I'll have to use it. I'm also going to have to defoliate again soon. Just the lower fan leaves close to the soil. And some of the larger top leaves that cover the bud sites. I've also got overlapping leaves that are causing condensation. Some of them I can move, and some I can't. I'll keep an eye and if need be, I'll take those off as well. I'll also increase the airflow to help. I have two oscillating fans in there so it shouldn't be an issue at all. I haven't moved the light yet because the plants haven't grown tall enough. The DLI is around 43 mol/m²/d. When flowering starts next week, I'll increase the DLI to 45 mol/m²/d. I may wait another week. We shall see how things look for the next few days. I may have to raise the light again to get that slight praying going on. I'll update if I decide to do that today. The environment is still a bit off. The temp is down to 73° and the humidity is still high around 59%. I'll most likely put my small dehumidifier in the tent to help with both heat and humidity. To be continued... I also rotated the plants around today. So now Tropicana Cookies is in the rear quadrant with Tropicana C back in front. Grow System Environment: Temp: 71.4° RH: 57.3% VPD: 1.10 kPa March 26, 2024 A bit of to do today. Honestly the next few weeks will be a bit of a to do. Training, defoliation, training again. Today we tied down the 2 longest top branches and made a couple adjustments to Tropicana Cookies. She looks great, if not a bit messy. It's fine though, it will grow to a nice flat canopy in the weeks to come. Tropicana C is actually the bigger plant in the tent. About an inch taller than the rest, with a completely flat canopy. I want to tie the branches back down to level it with the rest of the canopy, but I have concerns with breaking and space. I should probably remove the lower leaves from the plant and start there. I think I'll do that tomorrow. I'll also have to remove some lower leaves from Tropicana Cookies as well. The wrap around the rim training looks pretty good. It's not much tighter, but enough to need to remove some leaves for air flow mostly. The lighting is really good, so I'm not worried about it yet. Plus, defoliating will also make light space. The one thing I won't be doing is making the mistake of not trimming appropriately. I will probably lollipop these two once they get the stretch going. I decided to change the nutrient regimen back down to 8 ml instead of the 10 ml I originally was going to do. I feel like that is fine and won't cause anymore toxicity. But will also be plenty to help these ladies grow bigger and stronger. I didn't change the lighting today, but I lifted it up yesterday an inch to match the 24" footprint. I may have to drop it down to 22" later on to a oid going to 100% power. I will go there if I have to, but I'd rather not. The environment was driving me crazy. So today, I finally added the dehumidifier to help fix the temp and humidity. The focus will be the VPD more than the humidity. Currently the dehumidifier has finally increased the temp up to 76° and the humidity is still kinda high at 57%, but it's dropping down. Now it's just a matter of letting the environment acclimate again. Quick Update: I decided to train Tropicana C down with the same wrap around technique I used for Tropicana Cookies. It should work quite well. Not to mention, it opened up a plethora of bud sites and auxiliary branches. It also brought the canopy down with the rest of the tent. Grow System Environment: Temp: 71.6° RH: 57.9% VPD: 1.09 kPa March 27, 2024 It was defoliation day today. Both ants got about 15% of their leaves cut off. It was mostly the outside leaves to make room and better airflow between plants. I removed a few leaves in the center of the plants. Not many. But now both plants are opened up quite nicely and there's definitely enough airflow and light penetration. I don't think I will need to defoliate again for a few weeks. If they start to stretch like mad, then I may not need to defoliate at all. We shall see. Both plants are drinking the exact same amount of water. So far it's about 1/3 gallon of water per day. It will certainly pick up as the plants get bigger and more robust. The environment is looking good. The trim also removed some of the excess humidity which also helped the temp stay up. I did figure out why the tent was so cold for so long. Someone turned the temp in the house down. So it wasn't warming up in my room. My heater is just a supplement for when it's super cold and I need that extra boost. Alone it won't bring the room over 72°. So now I just need to remove the dehumidifier and the temp will level out around 77° with the humidity at 56%. Currently the tent is 80° and 54% a bit high in the temp. It will all level out in no time. I didn't move the light today. I'll check on it when I check the ants for post defoliation stress. Let's hope they are tough enough to take the defoliation like champs. We shall see. Update: I messed with the light. Strangely enough, I had to drop the power down to 80% and ended up with the light being around 25". Now the DLI is at 42 mol/m²/d. I'll look at it again starting next week. I may have to bring the power up again, but I don't think I will for another week at least. Right now, the DLI is perfectly fine. It will help with the ants reaching and spreading those nodes out for the flowering stretch. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.5° RH: 55.3° VPD: 1.36 kPa March 28, 2024 Today was basically observation. I'll be cleaning out the reservoirs tomorrow and refill with a fresh nutrient regimen. I have some B-52 from Advanced Nutrients coming in today, so that will be added. I also have Sensizym from Advanced Nutrients coming in a couple days. That will be added at the next watering. Both plants are starting to stretch now and pre-flower is well underway. The stretch has started and both plants have perfectly level canopies and level with each other. The auxiliary branches took off and are level with the rest of the main side branches. Everything looks great. There really isn't any difference between the two, so I'm super happy. Great genetics! Let's hope I get some beautiful colors out of them. I didn't bother changing the light at all. The plants are praying slightly and are extremely happy. No sense in increasing the light intensity while the stretch is going on. I'll just let them grow into the light and raise it when it gets closer than 22". Then I'll lift it up to 24" and adjust the power accordingly. The environment is spot on now... Finally. The temp is just at 77° with the humidity bouncing between 55% and 57%. All good things. March 29, 2024 Day 43 It's a new week and things need some changing. First off, the light was changed around. Secondly the reservoirs are all clean now and have a fresh gallon of nutrients. Finally, environmental factors. Both plants look absolutely beautiful. They have buds popping up everywhere. They are both 14" tall and have the same structure. They are seriously hard to tell apart. Flowering just started and we are in the beginning of the stretch. With the current stage and current growth patterns, hopefully I can expect between 24" and 36" plants. They are also perfectly level with the other 2 plants in the tent. So it's quite a nice ocean of tops. Some of the branches are a bit lower than the majority. I'm not worried. They are pretty strong branches. They just need more time to adjust from the training. I'm also considering the SCroG net more. It looks like I'm going to need it for a few branches. Mostly the main side branches, but the auxiliary branches are roughly the same height. I won't be doing any more structure training. Now it will be keeping the canopy level and minor adjustments. The shape and structure of both plants are exactly where I want them. Not too wide and just barely touching the other plants. Now it's a matter of upward growth. Personally, and based on experience, I think a 36" to 48" plant is fine to manage. Anything bigger in this size tent and it becomes unmanageable. As for lighting, the light was about 22" from the canopy today. I raised it back up to 24" and increased the power back to 90%. The DLI is roughly around 44 mol/m²/d. The PAR is around 675 ppfd. Something like that. Also, the very outside of the tent walls, the DLI is around 40 mol/m²/d. So it's still in range for the whole tent. Perfect footprint. Watering was reset today. All reservoirs were cleaned out and a fresh gallon of nutrients went in. That includes the B-52. Next watering I'll be adding Sensizym when it arrives. As for the nutrient regimen, I undecided to stay with a half dose. Especially considering the fact that I'm running a bottom feed system which provides a constant water source. So the uptake could get a lot of build up with too much nutrients. This happened with some nitrogen toxicity last week. It was cleared up in no time, but that was just too much nutrients. So half I go. It should turn out perfect. The environment is looking great! I won't be changing anything up yet. The temp is spot on around 77° and the humidity is at 55%. Exactly where I want it. I will keep this environment for the rest of the flowering stretch and then I'll start to drop things down. Down to 75° and humidity of 50%. The last week of flowering, I'll try to drop the temp down to 73° and 40%. It shouldn't be a problem. The light will also be backed off with a decrease in power. But that's not for weeks. Maybe even a couple months. But the way these are growing and the reputation FastBuds has, they should be ready in 3 to 5 weeks. According to FastBuds, the veg time is between 30 and 45 days. And flowering time is the 40 to 45 days. So around 8 to 10 weeks. It took 41 days to hit flower, so that's on the high end, but within range. Maybe it will be the same 40 days in flower. Maybe 30 days. I'll take 4 weeks. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.0° RH: 53.8% VPD: 1.38 kPa March 30, 2024 Not a lot going on for these two today. Both ladies drank about a third of a gallon yesterday and seems to be holding steady. I also checked the roots. Tropicana C isn't showing any at the moment. I was sure they would be showing by now. However Tropicana Cookies has roots showing. The funny thing is that they are the same size and still look the exact same. Both ladies got a haircut today. Not much, just some outer leaves to keep them more compact and within their quadrant. However, based on their size and growth, I may have to put the SCroG net up at 18". That should do the trick if there are any branches that take off. I also ordered the crossbars by AC Infinity. Very happy with this purchase. Now I can run the SCroG net across the entire tent without it sucking in. I can also mount my supplemental lights on it horizontally. That will give even more lower light coverage. The goal is to have no larf this go. Popcorn buds are fine as long as they are dense. This strain is supposed to produce massively dense buds. So with the setup I'm running, I should be expecting some quality bud throughout the whole plant. The light also got lifted again today. I kept the power the same, but the DLI was high at 55 mol/m²/d in the center. Much too high. Also, Tropicana Cookies was drooping before the lights got shut off yesterday. A sure sign of too much light. It seems that quadrant, in the back left corner, has more light. Maybe the grow light isn't level. Anyway, I lifted the light to 25" above the canopy. The footprint is amazing. With the center of the tent producing 48 mol/m²/d with the outside at 44 mol/m²/d. Not much of a difference and the lighting is great everywhere. I'll have to check back and see what Tropicana Cookies looks tonight. The environment is mostly alright. The temp is a bit high at 79.5°. But the humidity is perfect at 55%. Unfortunately the temp is throwing the VPD off by a decent amount at 1.50 kPa. It needs to be around 1.33 kPa. The daily average is spot on though, so that's great! Neither plant needed watering today. They both drank about a third of a gallon last night. So I expect to have to refill the reservoir in a couple days. I'd like to note that the new nutrient schedule i found didn't have Tasty Terpenes in it, so I will be adding that at 4 ml and Big Bud as well at 4 ml for the next refill. Oh and I'll also be adding the Sensizym next watering. I believe it calls for 4 ml. Basically this nutrient schedule runs at half dose. So it's pretty easy to work with. There are a few things missing, like bud ignitor and bud factor x, but everything else seems to be roughly the same as what I was using before. The major difference is the schedule itself. The old schedule was based on a photoperiod grow and that meant it was way too far extended than that of an autoflower. This new schedule takes out the guess work and makes for a really good starting point. I'm sure over time I'll change a few other things, like adding the rest of the nutrients and tweaking the amounts here and there. I'm definitely not that good yet, so I'll be learning along the way. It'll be slow going with my small setup, but I should be able to figure out the precise dosage of each nutrient based on the plant. Someday. One last thing. I increased the Cal/Mag back up to 8 ml/gal. This schedule calls for it. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.9° RH: 54.5% VPD: 1.35 kPa March 31, 2024 These two are identical. They even have the same single top slightly taller than the rest. It's wild! They are looking great in every way now. Beautiful color green. Nice growth, they aren't quite as tall I had hoped by now, it maybe they are just low to take off. Afterall, they really just started to flower. Still kind of in pre-flower. Anyway, these two should start to take off anytime. If they don't, bummer but I'll still get some quality bud. I think it has mostly to do with the medium. It's reused and probably drained of all its original nutrients. That being said, I missed a few nutrients for the veg stage, and that could be the issue with the lack of vigor these plants are supposed to have. These ladies will be needing a reservoir top off today. Later this afternoon. They aren't quite empty enough yet, but will be in a couple of hours. Then I can refill the reservoirs. Unfortunately I still don't have the Sensizym yet, so I'm watering without again. But, I do have the bud Candy, B- 52 and Big Bud. So that's good. Oh and the Tasty Terpenes too. All at half dose of course. This should at least pump some crazy goodness in the bud development. I didn't change the light at all. No need. Both plants are happy as can be. They are reaching slightly and look great. This should also help with the stretch. I've also decided to put the SCroG net at 18". That should give me enough time to let the rest of the ant catch up but also tall enough to take care of any renegade tops from overshadowing the rest of the plants. Also, the plants are only 14.5" tall so far, so the light need not be moved. The environment is quite happy as well. It's hovering between 76° and 79°. The humidity is great! Hanging out just at 55.5%. The VPD is also in a great place around 1.35 kPa. Grow System Environment: Temp: 77.4° RH: 54.6% VPD: 1.43 kPa April 1, 2024 Not much today. I made 1 adjustment to Tropicana Cookies. One branch was starting to take off from the others and happily it was closer to the center of the plant so I pulled it out and tied it down to be just under the rest of the canopy. Neither plant needs watering today. They may not need it for a couple more days. The bottoms of the containers are nice and moist, but they aren't taking in a lot of water. Tropicana Cookies has tons of roots and still isn't taking more in than her sister plant. It's strange. Tropicana C has only a few roots popping out of the bottom sides. This could mean a root ball building up and soon will grow roots downward. At least, that's what is supposed to happen. They both grew a couple inches last night as well. Now they are 16" and climbing. I also raised the light today. I raised it nearly 2" To make up for the canopy. The DLI was kind of high at near 50 mol/m²/d on the outer parts of the tent and was over 58 mol/m²/d on the inside. Now it's back down to 45 mol/m²/d in the outside of the footprint and 53 mol/m²/d on the inside. The plants aren't in the center for this exact reason. So there is a small open space dead cell center where my dehumidifier is. Near perfect coverage. I just need a bar style light and all my lighting issues will be solved. The environment is a bit of today, but not too far off. The temp is a little low at 74.7° with the humidity being closer to 58%. It should adjust in a few hours and all will be good. Side note, I really can't tell the plants apart in the pictures. Just clues of other things in the pics. Still hard to tell. So they may be off for a bit until I can figure out what is what. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.4° RH: 55.2% VPD: 1.31 kPa April 2, 2024 A bit of a to do today. Both ladies got a small haircut. It's been a few days now and they both kind of needed it. Mostly to keep them compact and not to overtake any other plants. Both plants have reached 19" and climbing. If I'm correct, I think the math shows 3 ft plants. It took a couple days for them to start taking off, but they were 16" yesterday and are now 19" today. That's 3" of growth over 24 hours. The stretch should take another week or 2. At this rate, 36" is quite possible. Tropicana Cookies needed a bit more trimming than her sister plant. Just a bit more, but still. Tropicana C didn't need as much trimming. Her leaves are full and beautiful. She just hasn't filled out quite as much yet. Well, now they are the same anyway, so we should see each of them grow back the same way. That's the goal anyway. I may not need a SCroG net afterall. Maybe it will be needed at 24" or maybe 30". Either way, I don't currently need it. If I had a bigger tent, it may benefit a tiny bit, but that's if I had a bigger tent. The light needed to be lifted again today. Another inch. I may have to do 2" instead. The light is roughly 23.5", but the DLI is roughly at 45 mol/m²/d. So that should be good, but it is a bit high in the center at 52 mol/m²/d. Not a problem for now, but the plants are starting to fill in the center, so I need to be careful with the light intensity. It shouldn't be an issue. The plants get rotated almost daily to help fit in the tent better. The environment is pretty good today with the temp at 76° and the humidity around 55% but can reach 58%. So it's a bit bouncy today. But the temp is pretty stable. The DLI is pretty good as well at 1.30 kPa. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.2° RH: 58.2% VPD: 1.18 kPa April 3, 2024 Watering day today. Both ladies got a full gallon top off. All nutrients are finally in the mix. It's looking good. The plants are super happy. It looks like a gallon every 3 days is where we are for now. They are both stretching pretty hard now. Already at 21" from yesterday's 19". I may have to install the SCroG net tomorrow. Nothing is really shooting up much, but the canopy is a bit off. It's about half and half. Some branches are tall with some still being a bit stubby and short. The short ones look just as good as the taller ones, with nice bud production, but still short. If it continues, I'll need the SCroG net. I'd like to note that the internodal spacing is really nice. The bud sites are looking fantastic with plenty of space to grow some super fat nugs without clumping on top of each other. The leaf coverage is perfect now. I don't think I'll need to defoliate again for the rest of the grow. I may remove a leaf here and there, but that's it. The light needed to be raised a couple inches. The DLI was over 50 mol/m²/d. Now it's back to normal. The light is just over 24" from the canopy. The DLI is back down to 45 mol/m²/d and the footprint is looking great! The environment is a bit skewed today with rain outside. The humidity is up to 59% and the temp is a little lower at 75°. Even with the dehumidifier on. I may have to turn on the main dehumidifier in my room and see what happens. It should adjust itself this afternoon. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.6° RH: 56.2% VPD: 1.29 kPa April 4, 2024 Not much going on today. I got my side bars in so I installed those and the SCroG net to about an inch over the canopy. Some of the tops are starting to take off and need to be pulled back down. I didn't bother checking the water today. It's definitely not ready and tomorrow is the start of a new week. I may not even be able to water for another day or so. It should be fine though. The light was also left alone. No need to move it until the ladies catch up. The environment is also looking pretty good today. The temp is at a nice 76° with the humidity at 55%. April 5, 2024 Day 50 This week will focus mostly on ScrOG and watering. The lighting will stay roughly the same as the net will be keeping the canopy a bit lower for a bit longer. Nutrients have changed as well. The SCroG net has been installed at 19" from soil. Both plants, again, are the same size and shape and structure and leaf coverage and all. So I had to pull down about 3 tops per plant. The rest of the canopy is just at 19". I plan to keep it that way for at least this week. Hopefully they don't get away from me. The nutrients have been changed around a bit as well. I removed the Big Bud and Sensizym and replaced them with Overdrive at 8 ml/gal and increased Bud Candy to 8 ml/gal for the next 2 to 3 weeks. Then we are looking at flushing for the rest of the grow. So maybe a week and a half of flushing. The lighting was adjusted to match the SCroG net. It is now perfectly set to 24" with the power remaining at 90%. The DLI is at 45 mol/m²/d through most of the canopy. With the net in place, I have a couple extra inches to work with above the light. Plenty of space now. The environment will also be tweaked a bit this week as well. I'm going to try to get the humidity down to 50% by the end of the week, but I always have trouble controlling the environment. I don't expect this to be any different. We shall see. As long as the weather doesn't go insane like it did for my last run, I should be able to keep it steady. Maybe not exactly where I want it, but steady as she goes. I'm also planning on dropping the temp down to 75° for the rest of the run. I'll also be running slightly cooler night temps at that time as well. Maybe 66° would be good. Maybe 65° to bring out that beautiful purple. Update: I forgot to say that I took off a few leaves that were blocking other bud sites. Not many, just to help a bit. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.2° RH: 54.3% VPD: 1.32 kPa April 6, 2024 Watering day today. Both ladies got a full gallon refill today. I also did a bit of research on the Advanced Nutrients feeding schedule. Of course I have an autoflower, so it's not quite the same. But I can follow a different schedule that matches my 5 week veg stage. I'll be adding the Big Bud back in and removing the Overdrive for this week. I'll review what the plants are doing and decide what action to take next week. I'm pretty sure I'll need to wait another week before adding the Overdrive and pulling out the Big Bud. I did leave the Bud Candy at 8 ml/gal though. They are definitely in need of more candy. Again, both plants are basically the same. They are both sticky all over now. Even the stems are covered in trichomes. Especially so early in the flowering stage. I didn't check the roots on Tropicana Cookies, mostly because with the net in there I have extremely limited space to work. But we all know the roots are everywhere on the bottom of the container. Tropicana C, on the other hand is starting to show more on the outside of the container. I'll check the bottom tomorrow along with Tropicana Cookies. The lighting hasn't changed at all. Mostly because I brought the tops back down under the net. So the DLI is the same at 45 mol/m²/d and 24" from the canopy. Perfect. Now, I don't really understand how to SCroG really. I know to bring the tops back under the net, but what about raising the net to accommodate the growth of the tops after everything is level again. There are some tops that aren't quite at the net yet, but the whole tent is like that, hence the net in place. The environment is pretty good today. The temp is spot on at 75.6° and the humidity is a bit high at 56.7%. But the VPD is still in that perfection range at 1.30 kPa. Update: I ended up snipping some leaves from both ladies. There were a few massive ones that were covering multiple bud sites. There were a few others in the lower part of the canopy that were blocking the lower bud sites. Now there's a good amount of leaf coverage. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.3° RH: 54.6% VPD: 1.36 kPa April 7, 2024 Looking good today. Both ladies had a couple tops pulled back down. I think I'll continue to pull them down until the rest of the plant starts to grow above the net. It's very close. Maybe another couple of days. Tropicana Cookies looks great! Excellent leaf coverage and bud sites developing everywhere. There really isn't much else to say about it. Roots are inaccessible to me now with the net up and the plant being in a rear quadrant. Tropicana C is starting to develop a beautiful root structure along the bottom of the container. All the way around the bottom outside and the very bottom is coming in super evenly. She also had a couple tops pulled down. The rest is catching up. I'm expecting great things. No watering needed today. I'd say another couple of days, then a full reservoir top off for each. Lighting won't be changed for a few more days. When the tops all start climbing over the net, I'll have to either raise the light or drop the power. I still have plenty of space to lift the light, so I'll leave the power the same unless I need to. Let's hope it only needs to be to 80% if need be. The environment is basically perfect with the temp being at 77° and the humidity at 55%. The VPD is perfect at 1.33 kPa. I couldn't ask for better conditions. I'll be gradually dropping the humidity down to 50% and raise the VPD to 1.45 kPa starting next week. Eventually, I want the humidity down to 40% and the temp around 75°. I should be able to pull it off. Especially if I do one final defoliation. I'm not sure that I will to be honest. Unless these leaves get massive, the coverage is excellent. Update: As I did yesterday, I was further inspecting both plants and discovered a few leaves that needed to go. Just a few km each plant. I had to note it though. Cutting leaves is an important thing to note and a step to be careful with. Too much and the plant could get stressed out. So far I'm seeing zero signs of stress. I don't take a lot though, so I don't expect any stress at all. This is only based on my past experiences. I learned that lack of defoliation can be a bad thing. Not for air and light, but for bud formation. My ants would get so full, they overlapped and left no space for the buds to fully develop. It resulted in airy loose buds. Tasty though. Anyway, the lesson was that I don't take enough off. This time around I'm taking just a bit more and the plants seem to be loving it. Lots and lots of well formed buds deep in the canopy. I'm honestly not too sure how tall they will get. The buds are developing quite nicely, but I can tell they are still very new and have a lot of growing to do. That being said, this should be around when the plants take off. We shall see how things go over the next week or so. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.1° RH: 54.4% VPD: 1.36 kPa April 8, 2024 Not a lot going on today. Both ladies look the same still. No issues, no stress, just growth. Nearly all the tops are breaking past the net now, so everything is wonderful. No watering today. They have about 2/3 water left, so maybe another day or so. We shall see. With the plants breaking past the net, I had to lift the light today. Not only did I have to lift it, I also had to drop the power down to 80%. No idea why the DLI was so high, but it was at 50 mol/m²/d. Now it's back down to 45 mol/m²/d. Interesting though. I wonder if my meter needs calibration. Maybe. I'll check it out later. For now I'm looking for slight praying. The environment today is just as good as it has been for most of the grow. The temp is at 76° today. It dipped down to 74° for a couple hours, but picked back up a little while ago as I thought it would. The humidity has been wonderful as well. It's fluctuating between 54% and 56%. Wonderful! Update: The light changes were perfect. Just enough to get some slight praying. Everything is good in the world. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.5° RH: 53.9% VPD: 1.41 kPa April 9, 2024 Nothing to do today except water. Both plants needed a full reservoir refill. So it's taking them roughly 2 days to empty now. Good to know. They are getting thirsty and that means more growth and production. They both have a decent amount of trichomes coming through now. What a wonderful aroma coming from them. Crisp and sour with a fruity base. Very nice indeed. They don't have any differences, so I can't really make a report about each one without writing the same thing, so I'll just describe them as a whole. Both plants have nice roots coverage on the bottom and lower sides of the containers. Their leaf coverage is basically perfect for what I'm looking for. Plenty of foliage to catch the light, but not too much to overshadow bud sites. There's barely any overlapping leaves and zero clusters. The color is wonderful and they are super healthy. The branches are a bit thin and still very pliable. I think I can expect that to change in the next few days or so. I also took just a few leaves off both plants total. Nothing much, but there was a cluster and an overlapping leaf. Just enough to keep the lower tops free and clear of extra foliage. I didn't move the light today. There aren't enough tops over the net to justify it yet. When the stretch finishes up, I'll reevaluate the light position and power to best cover the whole canopy without over doing it with the taller top sites. I may have to move the light up tomorrow though. Either way, it'll need to be paid attention to over the next week or 2. The environment is still fantastic. And it's beautiful out today. The tent is feeling it and is happily at 75° and 51% humidity. The VPD is very happy at 1.42 kPa. For this exact age of the plants and their progress, the VPD should start to rise a bit to 1.40, so it's now spot on. I think I can bring it up to 1.6 without any issues. That should be around 75° and 45% humidity. I'll see what I can do over the next 2 weeks or so. It should be very simple to bring it down to that temp and humidity. Especially if I do a final defoliation. Honestly, I don't think I'll need to do a defoliation at all. Maybe remove a few overlapping leaves and any clusters that pop up. Other than that, it should be fine. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.7° RH: 50.3% VPD: 1.42 kPa April 10, 2024 A little bit of change today. Both plants are completely through the net with Tropicana Cookies suddenly slowing down a bit. Or it's Tropicana C that has sped up. Either way, Tropicana C has completely cleared and stretched above the net. They are solid tops and don't want to risk breaking them, so they are growing straight up now. Honestly, I think it's time to let them finish stretching. Other than the slight height difference, there isn't anything else to mention. They both look super healthy and are growing quite nicely. I can't wait to see what they end up like. The light was raised an inch today. That's specifically due to Tropicana C and her stretch. Unfortunately, I'm nearly out of space for the light to go. Either way, the DLI is back down to 45 mol/m²/d. I am also debating on shrinking the footprint a couple inches. Mostly to increase the intensity for better canopy penetration. I may drop it to 22" instead. The canopy isn't all that deep, so this should give some pretty good bud throughout the whole plant. I'm also considering the SCroG net. Frankly, I would like to pull each plant out for inspection and maintenance. With the net there, it cannot be done. However, if the plants stretch in such a way that I can safely lift the net up and off, I will. It all depends on how they look after stretching has finished up. And of course to make sure the buds aren't weighing down the whole branch. I will say, the internodal spacing is really nice. The environment is way off today. The humidity is high at 58° and the temp is low at 74°. It's definitely hurting the VPD at 1.14 kPa. I'll have to mess with it more to see what I can do. I also didn't snip any leaves off today. They really don't need it. However, they may need it in a couple weeks. We shall see. Grow System Environment: Temp: 77.5° RH: 52.5% VPD: 1.49 kPa April 11, 2024 A bit of a trimming session today for both ladies. Not a full session, mind you, but some trimming was done. Mostly leaves in the lower canopy. I also removed a few leaves that were being crushed against the walls of the tent. Those came off as well. I also removed a couple tie downs to allow for those branches to lift up a bit. With the net in place, there is plenty of space in the canopy for light and airflow. Especially from the original training and the way I defoliated. Both ladies are now covered in sticky and sweet smelling trichomes. I was kind of hoping for the trichomes to show up a week ago, but this is fine. I mean, the stretch isn't even done yet, so I can expect even more trichomes. Speaking of trichomes production, my last grow didn't have much in sticky trichomes. I'm thinking it had to do with the light being entirely way too close. It just burned off the trichomes. This round should be much better with the light so far away. Tropicana Cookies looks fantastic. She has wonderful bud to leaf ratio. Great colors and stretching quite nicely. Her tops are completely level and about an inch above the net total. So e of the tops are taller, but not by much. I'm hoping for at least 24" from her. Tropicana C also looks great. It officially has to tallest cola in the tent. I tried to bend it down into the net, but it's just too stiff and tall now. I may tie it down into the tent. I'll check back later today and decide then. She should hit 24" by the end of the stretch. The lighting will need to be changed I think starting tomorrow. With the height where it is and the intensity, it may need a power increase. I also might drop the light an inch. One or the other. The DLI is a tiny bit low, just below 45 mol/m²/d. The outsides are at 38 mol/m²/d, so the intensity needs to be increased. I'm struggling with the environment today. It's super rainy out and it's causing the tent to be a bit too humid. The temp is fine at 75°, but the humidity is a bit high at 56%. It should be around 50% to 53%. The VPD, of course, is a bit low at 1.33 kPa. It should be above 1.40 kPa at this stage. I'll continue to fight with it for the rest of the day. Although, the forecast says rain for a few days, so that may be a pain in the ass. Don't get me wrong, the humidity will drop down in a couple hours, but the exhaust fan power is at 100%. I'd prefer it down to 50%. Less power and much quieter. April 12, 2024 Day 57 This week we focus on Defoliation. The SCroG net has done it's job so far and may end up being removed next week. I'm not sure, but if I don't, then I won't be able to pull the basins out for cleaning. That will lead to buildup and clog up the wicks. I'm supposed to clean them today but I can't get them out until the net is removed. They should be fine for an extra week. I won't be doing one last defoliation, it will be done throughout this week every other day. These plants have a wonderful bud to leaf ratio, so I may only need two small trimming sessions. That should be it, then I'm leaving it alone for the rest of the grow. I may remove one here and there, but this canopy is open all the way to the bottom bud sites. So I really shouldn't have to trim much at all. Tropicana Cookies and Tropicana C are both identical. They even have the same branch reaching above the canopy. I had to tie down the one on Tropicana C. I will probably have to tie the other one down tomorrow. They won't go under the net, so they had to be tied to it. They are still about an inch higher than the rest of the canopy, but it's better than 4" above the canopy. They both needed to be refilled today. So they each got a full gallon with Recharge. I'll be changing the feeding regimen for their next watering. I'm switching out Big Bud for Overdrive and removing Sensizym. Tasty Terpenes and B-52 will stay for the rest of the grow until flush. I'll be cutting the nutrients in half for the last watering before flush as well. It should only need a few days to completely flush the nutrients from the soil. I'll be using Flawless Finish during flush, so that should make it faster. The light power was increased today. I brought it back up to 90% to get the DLI back to normal. Now it's 50 mol/m²/d in the center, 45 mol/m²/d surrounding the center and 42 mol/m²/d along the walls. Great coverage and I get to keep the 24" light distance. I'm very happy with this so far. I may need to drop the power again after the week rounds out. We shall see. I may only need to raise the light an inch or two. Either way, I'm happy. The environment is finally getting back to normal from last week's wonky weather. Today, it's sitting at 76° with a humidity of 55%. It should drop down to around 52% by this afternoon. The DLI should end up being 1.42 kPa. Currently it's at 1.33 kPa. Not bad, but still not where it needs to be ideally. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.5° RH: 57.1% VPD: 1.26 kPa (That will adjust back tomorrow) April 13, 2024 Nothing going on today. The one cola on Tropicana Cookies that got tied down is already pointing straight up again. Tropicana C looks great! Nice tops and just about ready to start on bud production. It looks like we have a couple 24" plants. The yield should be pretty good. The lighting stayed the same and I'm pretty sure it will remain the same for the next couple weeks. Then I will be dropping the intensity down for the last week and a half or so. The environment is now off again. The temp is way too low, but the humidity is fine. It should adjust again this afternoon. Updated Correction: I ended up cutting some leaves off after all. Not a ton but several. I looked at Tropicana Cookies from a side door and found clusters of big leaves. Those got cleaned up along with a few top leaves that were blocking bud sites. That should be it for the rest of the grow. I'll check back one more time and see what's needed. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.5° RH: 52.0% VPD: 1.32 kPa April 14, 2024 Today is the final day of defoliation. I am planning on doing a proper defoliation this time. Nothing crazy, but the stretch has just finished up on both ladies and they need their final haircut. That being said, I think I'll remove the SCroG net for now. Then I can pull each plant out for inspection and defoliation. That way, I can clear out leaves that are sticking too far out and touching walls or other plants. I did do a minor defoliation this morning, but that was only what I could see in a crowded tent. So the rest will be done outside of the tent. Although, I'm not sure I'll have a lot to snip. That's a good thing. It's early afternoon and I have pulled the SCroG net out. I've also pulled both ladies and did a full defoliation. Well, about 15% leaf removal. As I said, this is the last defoliation for the rest of the grow. Tropicana Cookies looks great with the net off. There were tops that were being held down over other tops and some tops that were just bent. After removing the net, everything leveled out and the canopy spread is quite nice. The buds on this plant are insane. Internodal spacing is about 3/4" and it's all the way up each cola. When these ladies fatten up, they will have super long colas that should be thick with trichomes and hopefully no severe bending. Tropicana C got about the same 15% removed. She opened up quite a bit and there were definitely clusters I missed earlier on. Actually, quite a few on both plants. Anyway, this lady has great canopy penetration and air flow. What she also has is bud sites literally everywhere. Top to bottom. The colas are top to bottom, about 12" each. Maybe 15". I'll measure next week. I didn't move the light at all today. The DLI on the tallest tops is around 50 mol/m²/d while the rest of the canopy is around 45 mol/m²/d. No sense in changing anything at all. I may have to lift a couple other plants up that are sharing the tent. They are a bit shorter than these two. The environment looks good today. With a temp of 77° and the humidity around 53%, the VPD is very nice at 1.44 kPa. The average is looking great as well. However, I think I need to do something about the night temps. I believe they are still a bit too warm from the dehumidifier. I may have to increase the exhaust fan power at night to compensate for that. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.5° RH: 52.6% VPD: 1.39 kPa April 15, 2024 Watering day! With the SCroG net down, I can pull the plants out. Which means I was able to clean out the basins and refill with fresh nutrients. I pulled the Big Bud and replaced it with 8 ml Overdrive. It may be too much. I really should have started at 4 ml. Live and learn I guess. We shall see how they react. I was also supposed to pull the Sensizym, but forgot that entirely. I'll have to pay more attention to what I'm doing. I'll take it out next watering. If the plants have any issues with the Overdrive, I'll just leave it out next watering. Simple. Both plants look fantastic. Tropicana Cookies ended up with one super tall top. It's fine though, I'm keeping it outside of the canopy. As much as I can anyway. Tropicana C looks great as well. She has multiple tops that are all about the same height, but the majority are shorter. Both plants have tons of bud sites. In the hundreds I'd say. Maybe 150 to 200. It seems like a lot, but they are everywhere on each plant. They are super happy and healthy. The lighting was left alone today. I may check it later today or tomorrow. The plants aren't quite reaching as much as I'd prefer for now. I may have too much light on them now. I'll drop the power back down to 80% if need be... Maybe. The environment is really good today. Staying strong at 75° and 50% humidity. The only thing I really need to work on is night temps. It's much too high between 71° and 73°. I'd much rather have it between 66° and 68° especially during this stage. I'll have to turn my air conditioner on soon. No problem. It is a bit too warm in my room at night for my liking as well. Update: I lifted the light an inch this afternoon. Now the plants have a slight reach going on. It also helped with leveling the DLI out better. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.3° RH: 50.2% VPD: 1.45 kPa April 16, 2024 Not a lot going on today. Just some watering I think. That won't be until later this afternoon. Speaking of watering, I am happy to find both ladies at the exact same water level. It's great to see. They are drinking the gallon in just under 3 days now. I think the intake will increase in the next week or so. When the buds start to swell up. Tropicana Cookies has a few taller tops that are loaded with buds and stacks. Maybe 8" long each? But it doesn't stop there. I didn't lollipop these plants at all. They have buds all the way down to the base. The coolest part is, they are all roughly the same size. Top to bottom. I'm hoping my finishing touches bring me top quality buds throughout the plants. That would be an impressive yield. The lighting is perfect where it is. The taller tops are on the outside of the footprint and aren't getting as much direct light. It's keeping the DLI for them down to around 48 mol/m²/d. Still a bit high, but I'm not too worried about it. The environment is great today. Not only is it 76° with the humidity at 51%, but I finally got the night temp down to 66°. It was a steady climb down, and the average was around 68° which is ideal. I wouldn't mind it being at 66° all night to help bring out the colors. We will see how things go as we get closer to harvest. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.5° RH: 52.3% VPD: 1.32 kPa April 17, 2024 Not much to do today. Tropicana C needed some branch movement. A little crowded in some spots. It's all good now. But that's it. I didn't bother pulling Tropicana Cookies out today. She looks good and I'll pull all 4 plants out tomorrow. Mostly to comfortably refill the reservoirs for these ladies. They will definitely need a refill tomorrow morning. I haven't changed the light at all. I won't for the next 2 or so weeks. Then I'll drop the power down to 70% and for the final week will drop to 60%. That should see the DLI at around 38 mol/m²/d and 35 mol/m²/d respectively. The environment is looking fantastic. The night temp is finally down to 67° and the day temp has climbed up to about 76°. The humidity is staying strong at 51% with small dips into the high 40's. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.0° RH: 50.0% VPD: 1.40 kPa April 18, 2024 Both ladies got water today. Tropicana C was completely dried out. Whoops. Tropicana Cookies was just at the bottom. Either way, both got refilled today. Not much going on otherwise. I pulled them out for inspection. Everything looks great! Both plants have buds everywhere top to bottom. The branches are a little thin for my liking and I may have to put the net up on their side. The light is staying where it is. The tallest tops on each plant are a bit too close to the light, but that will be adjusted in a week or so. Currently the rest of the canopy is happy at 45 mol/m²/d. Looking great! The environment is a bit off today. It's kind of rainy and dreary here today, to the humidity is up higher than I'd like and the temp is a bit lower as well. It should fix this afternoon. The current temp is 75.8° with the humidity at 54.8%. The VPD is kind of low as well at 1.33 kPa. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.2° RH: 53.3% VPD: 1.33 kPa

April 19, 2024 Day 64 We are coming up on the 10 week mark soon enough. I'm expecting both of these ladies to start swelling buds any day. So another 2 weeks before harvest. Probably 3 to 4 more weeks. Tropicana Cookies is actually 31" tall while Tropicana C is 28" tall. However, due to the highest points being so tall, I have those tops as far on the outside of the light footprint as I can. I managed to get the DLI down to 50 mol/m²/d for each plant. While the rest of the canopy is happily at 45 mol/m²/d. No watering today. Maybe tomorrow. The water intake has increased a bit over the past couple of days, so I may be topping off tomorrow or early morning the day after. I'm also getting some nutrient burn from what I believe is the Overdrive. I have it at full dose and honestly think it's too much. So I'm cutting it in half as well as Bud Candy. That's also at full dose and I don't think it's needed. So cutting that in half as well. The light will be staying the same for the next 2 weeks now that the plants have hit their final height. I'm guessing that's how much longer it will be before flushing. I'll drop the light power at the same time as flush. The flush should be about a week. The environment is giving me a hard time today. The temp is high at 78° with the humidity high as well at 56%. Not really sure what's causing it, but I'll turn my damn AC on if I have to. Anyway, I'm still having trouble keeping it at 50% humidity, so getting to 45% seems unrealistic. So I'll work with 50% and just make sure to check for any signs of mold or anything. I don't think I'll get anything like that, but you never know. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.2° RH: 53.3% VPD: 1.31 kPa April 20, 2024 Happy 420!!! Not much going on today with these 2. They will both need watering tomorrow. So they are finally at a half gallon a day. The 2 other plants in the tent are also at a half gallon a day, but they are on the opposite schedule. It works for me. Gives me something to do everyday, but not sitting there for a half hour mixing nutrients. (I use 1 gallon jugs for each plant) Tropicana Cookies looks great! Her buds are starting to swell and stack. They are just about ready to start swelling up. I can tell they will be super tight as well. There are a couple places where the pistils are orange and shriveled up. The bud is super dense. However, that could be seeds. I'm not too sure at this point. It's a high possibility. Tropicana C also has a couple tops with the same type of super dense buds. Again, these two are identical in every way. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same top doing the same thing. Anyway, looking super good. Buds from top to bottom. They aren't big and fat yet, but there still a good 2 to 3 weeks left. Hopefully less though. I have 4 more plants I have to start today for a contest. Unfortunately those plants will be stuck ina. 2x2 until these ones are out of the tent. The lighting hasn't changed whatsoever and won't for the next 2 weeks. The environment is looking great now. It's steadily climbing up from 68° last night and is at about 75° now and will definitely be at 76° in about an hour. The humidity is great at 51%. As I said yesterday, I don't think I'll be able to drop it down any further. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.4° RH: 52.3% VPD: 1.30 kPa April 21, 2024 Watering day. Both ladies got watered today. Not much else going on though. Tropicana Cookies was nearly dry, but not quite. Unfortunately, Tropicana C was bone dry. I don't like it getting dry. The wick system gets messed up. But it did give me a chance to quickly wipe down the basin. Both plants have nutrient burn from what I assume was the dose of Overdrive. So today I left it out. Just to allow the nutrients to even out. Next watering I'll be doing 4 ml of it. I also dropped the Bud Candy down to 4 ml. Just Incase it was partly that as well. The lighting was, of course, not changed at all. The power will be dropped in the next week or so. This strain should have a 6 week flowering stage. 45 days is the estimate. So there's about 3 weeks left. Much longer than I was expecting. Honestly it's from the 5 week veg period. I find it strange that I didn't get any massive plants in 5 weeks. At the end of the grow, we will be hitting just under 12 weeks. No clue why I can't get my plants to grow at the suggested time frame. The earliest I have ever harvested was 11 weeks. Or maybe 12. Strange. I'll have to figure that out. The environment is looking good today. The temp is leveled out at 75° and the humidity is happily at 49%. The VPD is a little low at 1.39 kPa, but it will fix soon enough. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.4° RH: 49.7% VPD: 1.39 kPa April 22, 2024 Definitely nothing going on today. Tropicana C had a couple leaves popped off today. Just a couple that were covering some bud sites and encroaching on other tops. Tropicana Cookies looks great! I will say her buds aren't fat like I was expecting. They seem more like sativa buds. It's strange. They are thin and small and look super airy. I'm not sure if this is the deal, but both plants look like this. Only time will tell. Tropicana C also looks quite good, with the same bud swelling issues, but we shall see as I said. She got 2 leaves removed. They were being crushed by the wall and in turn were overcrowding other bud sites. The lighting is staying the same of course. I believe an a week or 2, I'll have to drop the intensity. The environment is once again looking great! 75° and 50% humidity. The overnight temp is still at 68°. I'd much rather it be at 66°. Maybe I'll cool my room off earlier in the evening to allow the tent to cool faster at night, so the temp drops to the average of 66°. I'll start that next week. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.8° RH: 49.2% VPD: 1.41 kPa April 23, 2024 Nothing going on today. Just the daily inspection. What I've discovered has me a bit confused. Both plants have tons of orange pistils with some being so shriveled up you can't see them. Those buds are super tight, but I have a feeling those couple tops like that are seeded. I'll find out soon enough. Honestly, I can't tell. Don't really know what I'm looking for. The problem I'm confused about is the size of the buds. They're tiny, wispy and look underdeveloped. Maybe they are. Who knows. Maybe this strain gets early orange pistils. We shall see. I hope they swell up. Like a lot. As it stands now, it looks like an oz of smalls. Which of course is unacceptable. However, both plants are doing it, so it has to be the strain. Something I probably shouldn't be all that concerned with. I'm leaving the light where it is for the next week or so. With the pistils already turning orange, I'm thinking I should prepare for the final stage of flower. I would expect it to be done in the next 2 to 3 weeks, but it may be less time. Anyway, I'll see what they are doing next week and work from there. The environment is actually looking really good. I managed to get the temp up significantly earlier today by cranking my heat to 88°. It brought the tent temp up to 78° and the humidity just below 50%. Looking good. Now all I have to do is drop the temp a little bit to get to that perfect 75°. Also, my dehumidifier wasn't on. I must of have it off from the other day. So I should see lower humidity by the end of the day. Especially after I adjust the temp. Looking good. Update: I've been thinking about how the buds are so small. I wonder if I took the Big Bud out too early and added the overdrive too soon. I can't go back to Big Bud, but that could be the cause. Still, another 2 to 3 weeks left. So we shall see. But an interesting thought. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.7° RH: 49.0% VPD: 1.42 kPa April 24, 2024 Both ladies got a reservoir refill today. Tropicana C was dried out. So I need to keep a better eye on the water levels. Tropicana Cookies wasn't dried out yet though, very close but not yet. Tropicana Cookies looks great! Her buds are finally starting to swell and if there's another 2 weeks, I can expect them to get huge. We shall see. Tropicana C has the same boost in bud production and has swelling buds now. Everything else looks good with her. Speaking of swelling buds and production, both ladies are completely covered in trichomes. Not quite "frosty" yet, but getting there. I'll start with trichome pics next week. That way we have some good specimens to work with. On another note, the aroma these two are putting off is intense now. I'll have to change the smell setting to STRONG next week. It's a sickly sweet smell, but crispy. Not too heavy, but definitely has a gassy undertone. Very nice. I won't be moving the light at all for the rest of the grow. However, I may drop the power down to 80% next week and bring the DLI down to 40 mol/m²/d. But maybe not. I'm waiting for the flushing period. I'm not sure when that will be. Maybe 2 weeks? I can't tell with this strain. So many orange pistils and she looks like she is nearly done, but definitely not. They still have a good two weeks left. We shall see. The environment is a bit off today. It's raining, so the humidity is hanging out around 52%. The temp is fine at around 75° to 76°. I'm not too worried about the environment today. Just thought I would note the difference. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.6° RH: 50.9% VPD: 1.41 kPa April 25, 2024 So today is the last day of week 9 and also going into the first day of late flower. Things will most likely be changing up in the next week. Nutrients, lighting and environment. Not much to do today. No watering needed and no maintenance. I checked out both plants and as I was saying yesterday, the trichomes are looking great and will start getting pics starting tomorrow. Everything looks good for both ladies. The lighting of course wasn't messed with today. That will be changing at some point next week. The environment is shaping up to be great for the start of late flower. I got the temp down to 65° last night and the humidity down to 48°. Today I have had it around 76° with the humidity around 49%. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.1° RH: 49.3% VPD: 1.43 kPa

April 26, 2024 Day 71 This week we focus on watering and nutrients. A secondary focus will be on a changing environment and light intensity changes. Both ladies had their reservoirs cleaned out and have fresh nutrients. It's also the start of late flower, so things will be changing with the nutrient dosage. I'll most likely keep the nutrients the same for this week, but I may start to drop the dosage a little for each watering until the flush period starts. So depending on how they look, I may change the dosage for this week's last watering. I'll be bringing it down 25%. So 8 ml goes down to 6 ml and 4 ml goes down to 3 ml. I'll change this for the next 2 weeks until it's just plain water for 2 waterings and then Flawless Finish. It should play out quite well. The lighting will also be changing a bit this week. I'll be dropping the DLI to 43 mol/m²/d mid week and will then lower it to 40 mol/m²/d beginning next week. I'll then drop it to 36 mol/m²/d the week after and finally 32 mol/m²/d for the final week. The environment will also be dropped from 77° to 75° during the day and from 68° to 65° at night. The humidity is solid at 47% and I think that's the best I can do for the rest of the grow. Both plants look great. They have tons of orange pistils and tons of trichomes. I'll be taking trichome pics every few days. One for each plant. I feel like it'll be a better comparison than daily pics. For the trichomes anyway. Anyway, they both still have time to swell their buds more. I'm not expecting big buds from these two. Medium sized maybe, but definitely not big. They just don't look like they will get that big. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.2° RH: 47.7% VPD: 1.49 kPa April 27, 2024 Almost all of the pistils are orange now on both plants, but the buds are still swelling. Interesting. I'll be taking trichome pics today at some point. I was going to yesterday, but got distracted with video games. Whoops. There's tons of trichomes. They are definitely frosty and continuing to get frostier. Nothing much to do today. Each plant got an inspection and passed with flying colors. There were some loose tie downs as well. Mostly from the crowding in the tent. So those got removed. Tropicana Cookies is looking super good now with her buds being everywhere and them swelling up finally. She could stand to get a few leaves taken off, but I'd rather just leave it alone now. No sense in undue stress. Tropicana C also looks great. She has to be the biggest of the two. Not the tallest, but definitely the most girthy. Lots of buds and also starting to finally swell up. I'd also like to mention the colors coming from both plants where the buds are nearly done. Lots of purple hues. You can't really see them from the small sugar leaves and frost covering it. But it's there. The lighting as I said will stay the same for the first half of this week. Then I'll drop it. However, I may leave it to next week. We shall see. The environment is looking pretty good. The temp is a bit high currently at 77.8°. the humidity is still at 47%, but I managed to get it down to 44% for most of yesterday afternoon. The DLI is a bit high today at 1.66 kPa. Nothing a small adjustment won't fix. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.5° RH: 45.7% VPD: 1.55 kPa April 28, 2024 Not a lot going on today. I'll be refilling the reservoirs later this afternoon. That's about it. I have a bit of a concern. Both ladies have really small buds, and I think they may have stopped swelling. I'm wondering if I have nutrient lockout or something. They are showing signs of stress. So I've already started dropping the nutrients down by cutting Overdrive in half as it seemed to have been the original cause of the nutrient burn. And the next watering will have all nutrients cut in half. Next week I'll drop it to 25% and leave it til flush, which may be next week anyway. We shall see. Other than that, both plants are covered in trichomes. They smell wonderful as well. Like orange and some other light citrus and gas. Smells super good as well as sweet. There is also a hint of cookies. The DLI will be dropped to 40 mol/m²/d tomorrow. I'm assuming it will only be a 10% drop on power, so I shouldn't lose much penetration. The environment is off today. It's warm and super humid with bouts of rain. So naturally, the tent environment is all wonky. The temp is at 75.5° with the humidity way up at 60%. I turned the AC on and now it's just a matter of tweaking and waiting. I may have to crank it and sacrifice some temp for lower humidity. It should be fine that way, but the humidity is definitely too high. Update: I ended up adding about a half gallon of plain water to both reservoirs. Just Incase I have nutrient lockout or something. They should go through that by tomorrow afternoon. Maybe late evening. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.6° RH: 52.8% VPD: 1.39 kPa April 29, 2024 No watering today. The plants are both still going through the half gallon of plain water from yesterday. Let's hope it clears up the nutrient burn. They look great with their trichome coverage. The only thing I'm pretty disappointed about is the size of the buds for both plants. I wonder what I did wrong. I'm guessing the introduction to Overdrive was about 2 weeks too early. Removing the Big Bud was also a major mistake I think. It should have stayed in the mix for 2 more weeks. Lesson learned, make adjustments to any feeding schedule to match the plants growth stage. Maybe I'll ask that question. The lighting was changed today. I dropped the power level down to 70% to get a DLI of 40 mol/m²/d. It's not perfect as the plants do not have level canopies, so some of the spots go all the way up to 45 mol/m²/d still. It's not a bad thing I think. The DLI was a bit high for those tops anyway. The environment is still wonky. The temp is fine at 76° to 77°. A bit high from what I want, but not out of range. I'd still like it down to 75° or 74°. The humidity is what's out of whack at 60% and it doesn't seem to want to drop. I have a heater on to clear out the room humidity and a dehumidifier in the tent working it's hardest. Which isn't very hard. I believe the fans are going on it. It may be time for another one. Something the same size but more powerful. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.2° RH: 59.8% VPD: 1.15 kPa April 30, 2024 Watering day. Both ladies got their full gallon of nutrients. I'm going to cut it when it drains down some with plain water. Both plants look good even though they have small buds. They are everywhere and seem pretty dense. So it's just a matter of time. Maybe another 2 weeks. Maybe less. Hopefully less. The nutrient burn was an issue, but now I think it's good. I dropped the Overdrive significantly, but I think I can plainly say, I have ruined my yield for these two plants. Lesson learned. Plain water at the first signs of stress. The scent is super strong now and smells like oranges and candy. Or something like that. All I know is that it smells great. The lighting is pretty good. No reaching yet, so it's definitely not too low. I may just leave it here for the rest of the grow. I read that lights don't need to be dimmed for autoflowers. It could be right. I've never dimmed the lights before. We shall see I guess. The environment is still wonky with the humidity being high still at 57%. I can control the temp pretty easily, but the humidity will not budge. I'll keep trying. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.5° RH: 57.0% VPD: 1.26 kPa May 1, 2024 Nothing to do today with these two. No watering needed, no light changes, nothing. I pulled them out, tooky pictures and checked them over. No issues pest or fungus or anything. The only issue I have is the nutrient burn. Some of the leaves are getting yellow spots on them and frankly I have no idea what to do here. Keep the nutrients the same? Cut the nutrients down some over the next week or 2? Go with plain water? Not too sure. I still see many stresses. And I think that is the cause of my tiny buds. It seems that I did take the Big Bud out too early and added the Overdrive way too soon. Oops. Lesson learned with this run. I don't think it's a matter of an over abundance of nutrients, but the wrong ones at the wrong time when the plants weren't ready for it. I'm guessing that's what has happened here. Both ladies smell fantastic. Super sweet and strong. Crisp, and not pungent. Refreshing even. Tropicana Cookies has some pretty hard buds and lots of them. Of course, larger buds are preferred, but as long as these come out fire, I'll be happy. Her branches also seem to be holding up nicely. Tropicana C on the other hand has weaker branches and the tallest top is starting to lean pretty heavily. A great sign for bud density. Both plants have phenomenal trichome production. It's getting better everyday. Tons of clear with a mix of cloudy and amber, definitely not ready yet, but soon I think. Very soon. Maybe another week and a half? Maybe 2. As I said before, I didn't change the lighting at all. It's current DLI is 40 mol/m²/d through most of the central canopy. The outside of the canopy is roughly 38 mol/m²/d. So it's all good now. The environment is still wonky with the humidity being at 59%. It's maddening. The room is 49% and the temp is fine at 75°. I'll sacrifice up to 77° if I can get the humidity around 50%. Not ideal for this stage in life, but it will have to do of I can even get it there. I do have a large dehumidifier, but it doesn't work right. When the compressor shuts off, it blows are that humid air right back into the room. I need a new one. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.2° RH: 56.1% VPD: 1.27 kPa May 2, 2024 Not a lot going on today. No watering, no trimming, nothing. I did change the light last night to 80% power. Tropicana Cookies looks great! She has purple coming out all over her buds. No fade yet though. I can assume that will be coming through in the next week or so. Her tops buds are getting slightly fatter and heavier than before. I hope it will continue to do so over the next 2 weeks. Tropicana C is slightly behind. She doesn't have nearly as many orange pistils and the purple is just starting to come through. However, she has tons of trichomes covering everything top to bottom. Her buds are about the same size as her sister, so they may end up swelling bigger than Tropicana Cookies when all is said and done. We shall see. As I said earlier in today's post, I changed the light power from 70% back up to 80%. I think I dropped it too early and need to adjust it accordingly. I'll drop it again in a week or so. Maybe less. Now the DLI is at 43 mol/m²/d inside and 40 mol/m²/d on the outside. The environment is still off, but not as much. The humidity continues to be high, but only at 55% verses the 60% it's been stuck at for the last few days. May 3, 2024 Day 78 This week is the last week of nutrients before a week or so of flushing. I'm still not seeing any fade, but most of the buds are turning a beautiful purple pink color. At least on Tropicana Cookies. Tropicana C isn't quite there yet. Maybe a few days behind. Some purple is starting to show though. No watering for today. I have the reservoirs full of diluted nutrients. I added a half gallon of plain PHed water yesterday. However, these plants aren't taking in much. The soil is getting saturated and the plants aren't drinking as much. I think it may be nutrient lockout. Or just the age of the plants. They slow down when nearing the end. How near, I don't really know. Maybe a week or so before harvest? Either way, the soil moisture used to be around 49% to 51% saturation. Now it's at 57% which has been unheard of through the whole run. I just can't tell which problem it is. Tropicana Cookies looks great! Lots of bud through the whole plant, not big, but getting denser and slightly fatter. As I said before, her buds are getting super purple with tons of orange pistils. The trichomes are a mix of clear, cloudy and amber. Mostly clear and cloudy with amber being about 5% throughout. Tropicana C looks great as well. One top is leaning hard and no wonder. It's covered top to bottom is dense bud. Still not big buds by any stretch of the imagination, but they seem hard as rocks. I haven't felt them to find out. I'll figure that out on trimming day after drying. She doesn't have the purple coloring like her sister, at least not yet. Some buds are starting to show the purple, but nowhere near as much. The lighting will be changed at some point within the week. Maybe closer to the end of the week. The light is far away enough where I shouldn't get any trichome issues. I definitely won't be getting light stress at all, so I may leave the light as it is for as long as I can. The environment is still a little wonky. The temp is the same, hovering between 75° and 76°. I'm doing my best to keep it under 77° as 78° can cause a potential breakdown of trichomes. Gotta be careful at this crucial time. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.2° RH: 55.0% VPD: 1.23 kPa May 4, 2024 May the 4th be with you! Star Wars all the way! A little bit of a thing for these two today. First, I need to comment on how purple these buds are getting. Second, I think they only have days left. Maybe a week. But based on how they look and their trichomes, I wouldn't be surprised if they were ready in 5 days. That being said, I think it's time to start flushing. There are a couple reasons I think they are almost ready. For one, they have nearly all orange pistils. Just a few colas here and there. They still have a decent amount of white, but they will be gone later today if not tomorrow. The trichomes are a good 60% cloudy, 30% clear and about 5% amber. I'm leaving 5% out for margin of error. Finally, this could also be a lockout, they are taking significantly less water. At this stage it is to be expected, but I do have a nutrient issue with both of them. So it could be that as well. Or a combo of the two. All that being said, I think it's safe to say they are ready for flushing. Tropicana Cookies is noticably stronger than her sister, or her buds are just heavier. But, this lady has no hard leaning branches. Some leaning a bit inward, but that was how I trained them. On the other hand, Tropicana C has quite a few branches leaning hard. I had to prop one up against a stronger cola to keep it up in place. Another is leaning inward so I have that propped between 2 other colas to prevent light blockage. Both plants look kinda terrible right now with top leaves having spots everywhere from too much of something. Or lack of Phosphorus? Something. I need to learn this stuff. I think the lesson learned here is to make sure to time everything properly and not pay attention to every detail in a feeding schedule. The one I used was based on 3 weeks of veg and 6 weeks of flower. I had 5 weeks of veg and am now on week 6. Flowering seems to be on point, but the longer veg stage messed me up. So I will be following the feeding schedule provided by Advanced Nutrients. Just cut the nutrients way down. The light power will be dropped this week. I plan on dropping it 10% mid week and another 10% by the end of the week. The DLI should drop back down to 40 mol/m²/d inside and 38 mol/m²/d outside. By end of week, I plan to have the DLI down to 38 mol/m²/d. However, I have 2 other plants in the tent that are about a week behind these two. So I may have to change my plans for lighting and leaves it up for the rest of the week and drop it down to 38 mol/m²/d next week. But I don't think I have more than a week left. Oh well. I also won't be able to run a dark period. The plants are too big to fit in a 2x2 tent. So they will be harvested right away. I'll just keep the temp down below 75° for the rest of the week. The other strain is Banana Purple Punch, so it should benefit from the lower temps as well. I shouldn't have any trouble with mold or anything. The plants come out of the tent everyday and the airflow is fantastic. So the high humidity shouldn't be much of an issue. I'll do everything I can to drop it as much as possible anyway. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.1° RH: 57.9% VPD: 1.19 kPa May 5, 2024 A bit to do today. Both ladies need top offs. Tropicana Cookies much less so. Tropicana C is almost empty while Tropicana Cookies is about half full. She has to be super close to harvest. The trichomes show it as well. Not quite there, but almost. That being said, I'm switching to Flawless Finish for the rest of the grow. They will need about a week of flushing and then I think they will be done. Tropicana Cookies is looking great! Her buds swelled up to an acceptable size. They definitely aren't nearly as big as my Gorilla Cookies, but that was an insane plant. Anyway, I'm not seeing any signs of fading. Just nutrient burn. However, I rarely get fade. Maybe it will start later this week. Anyway, I'll have to clean the reservoirs out. I may have to do that today. Just plain water though, then next watering will be Flawless Finish. Tropicana C is definitely putting on weight. Her colas are starting to pull more and more branches down. Leaning everywhere. I have 2 that will completely fold over, so I have to wrap them around other branch leaves to lock them in place. Her buds aren't purple though. It's starting to come through now, but nowhere near as her sister plant. However, her pistils are like glowing orange. Beautiful. She still has a good 40% white pistils. I like to see a minimum of 75%, but I rely mostly on the trichomes. Regardless of color, she is still quite the beauty. Both ladies are extremely strong to the nose now. Even with my exhaust fan at 100% power, it still doesn't pull all the smell out. It's could also be the combo of these two and the two Banana Purple Punch plants in there tent as well. Either way, they look and smell great! The lighting will have to stay where it is for the rest of the week. I don't think it will be a problem. I have the light 24" away from the plants and shouldn't have any stress at all. The reason being is those two Banana Purple Punch plants. They still have a good 10 days left while these two only have about 5 to 7 days left. So it will stay exactly where it is. The environment is driving me nuts. I can't for the life of me get the humidity to stay below 60%. I swear it's the gods messing with my shit. Lol. The temp is still controllable. I want to bring it to 74°, but then I risk higher humidity. But if I crank the heat, the temp could get too high and damage the trichomes. What a sticky place to be. I'll just have to open the door periodically throughout the day while this humidity is out of control. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.0° RH: 59.8% VPD: 1.09 kPa May 6, 2024 Not a lot going on today. No watering needed, no light changes, nothing. Just some pics and environmental adjustments. Tropicana Cookies looks great! She's very close to harvest. I'll be checking trichomes again in 2 days. I'd say 5 days left on her. She just needs more amber trichomes. And she could do with less clear trichomes. Although, the majority of them are cloudy, this is an indica dominant strain. So I like a little more amber than that of a sativa. Honestly, it levels out the harvest time. Sativa's take slightly longer so less amber means less time. More amber on the indica strains takes slightly longer than their shorter lifespan. So they tend to level out for harvest time. Also, what I thought was more damage to the leaves, I'm starting to think it's the start of the fade. Even with the Flawless Finish flushing out the extra nutrients, the leaves are still showing "damage". So maybe it's the start of senescence? Or residual nutrients still in the soil. Probably that now that I think about it. It will take days for the issue to subside. I'd also like to note that the damaged leaves aren't crispy at all. They still feel like they are very healthy. So instead of cutting them off like I planned, I'm going to leave them on and use them for a timeline for the rest of the plants. Tropicana C also looks great! Her branches are bending over all over the place. Just the outside ones and taller colas. They may be small buds, but they are solid and a plethora of them. I'm finally seeing purple. So she is definitely the same phenotype, just got slightly delayed by probably 3 days or so. I'd say give this one another 5 to 7 days. It's could be up to 10 days which is no big deal as I have other plants in the tent that won't be done for another week or 2. So I'm not too worried. Both ladies have a crisp and fruity aroma. Even though it's a crispy smell, it's strong and engulfs the smell gland things in a citrus, sweet, fruity, I guess gassy and earthy aroma. They aren't taking as much water in anymore, so it's definitely nearly time. I don't really see it doing much right away. As I said earlier, Tropicana Cookies is still advancing in the nutrient burn. Maybe it was a deficiency the whole time? Someone mentioned missing Phosphorus which I think is Big Bud that I used at the complete wrong time. We aren't changing the light at all. The other 2 plants in the tent need it to be where it is for another week, and these 2 should be done in an week or less. The environment is still wonky with the temp at 75° and the humidity at 58% and bouncing into 60%. I managed to get my room down to 48% earlier, but now it's up to 52%. I'll have to do my best to keep up with the temperature in the tent. Try to keep it below 75° if I can. Also, I really cannot get the temperature to drop below 67° at night. The average is and has been 68° for the majority of the grow. However, last night's humidity was absolutely insane with an average of 67%. I really can't stand weather sometimes. It's a good thing I pull my plants out everyday and inspect them. Otherwise I think I'd have some mold issues. So far we are good to go. I'm also opening the tent periodically throughout the day to let more dry air in and clear out the moisture to room level. Today should be good with the lower temps outside and in turn lower humidity. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.8° RH: 62.4% VPD: 1.05 kPa May 7, 2024 Not a lot going on today. I might top off the reservoirs tonight, but mostly tomorrow. So leaf damage continues to spread. I swear this better be senescence. It's weird, because it's spotty. All over the place. Like not rust, but yellow and orange. It still looks like leaf damage to me. I don't know. As I've said before, I don't get a lot of fade from my plants, so I'm not really sure what to look for. for example is this spotting. The timing is right for senescence, but I'm not really seeing solid color change. Is that "fade"? I can't see it as fade. It still looks like damage. I guess I'll see what happens over the next few days. Tropicana Cookies looks great! Her buds are almost all purple now. Some of the lowers are still green, but I don't expect the whole plant to turn purple. However, it may happen over the next few days. Tropicana C is weighing down a ton of tops now. They are falling over like dominos. Some are bending half way over. The tallest one has essentially collapsed under its own weight. I used some plant ties to hold it up with other tops. I had to weave a couple tops together just to keep them from falling over when I placed it back in the tent. Then they untangled and flopped over against the other plants and tent wall. A promising sign of some super dense buds. Considering how small they are, they must be heavy indeed. Super dense. I can't wait! The smell is so strong now that it's permeating through my air sealed door into the rest of the house when the tent is open. I even have the exhaust fan, that runs to the outside of the house, at full power. And an AC unit that exhausts outside as well. Still the smell is wonderfully overwhelming. Excellent! Lighting is staying the same until the end of the week. Then I'll be dropping it down to 36 mol/m²/d for the rest of the grow. It's to accommodate the other strain in the tent. The environment is getting better. The humidity my room dropped down to 42%, so the humidity in the tent dropped to 54%. Not good at all, but much better than 60%+ for days. The temp is at 76°. I'd still like to see it at 74°, but I'll be able to do that when I get the humidity under control. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.7° RH: 54.6% VPD: 1.25 kPa May 8, 2024 Trichome Day! We only have pictures today. I'll do a video for next week. Speaking of next week, after checking the trichomes, I believe these two will be done by the end of next week. I know I'm pushing it off a bit, but they just aren't ready yet. Tropicana Cookies has started to fade. Her sugar leaves and some of the fan leaves are developing beautiful dark purples. The rest of the leaves are starting to lighten up as well. We are looking super good. Tropicana C on the other hand is a bit behind. I'd say 3 days maybe 4. No idea why, but she is. Also, her branches have to be weak AF to be bending all over the place. The buds aren't that big or heavy. So yah, just a weak plant. Definitely from my nutrient regimen. She smells great though and she is getting more purple in her buds, so she will hopefully turn out like her sister plant with super bright purple buds. I think they are the same phenotype, so this one should turn purple too. I think. One issue I may run into is timing. I need to harvest both plants at the same time so I can fit the 4 sour diesels I have in the 3x3 with the other 2 that are currently going. It might be a tight call. If they are indeed 4 days apart, I may overdo it with Tropicana Cookies and possibly underdog it with Tropicana C. We shall see. The lighting is just going to stay the same. There's no point in dropping it now. The other plants in the tent still need it and these 2 are so close to being done, it really won't matter. The environment is a nightmare. I cannot get the humidity below 60% now. It may go down later this afternoon, but not enough. It's maddening. I'll just keep opening the tent every couple hours to let fresh air in, even though the exhaust fan is running full speed. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.0° RH: 57.6% VPD: 1.19 kPa May 9, 2024 It's the last day of week 11 and we are embarking on the final few days. Nothing to do today, but there are a few notes I'd like to make. Tropicana Cookies has mere days left. Her buds are almost all purple now from top to bottom. Not only that, but the leaves are also turning purple. Some of the bigger fans leaves are starting to fade. It started with the damaged ones and is slowly working through the other leaves. Just a few at a time. Something I noticed is how much water her container is holding. I may have to pull the wicks. I guess it makes the most sense. I'll do that later today. Mostly because the bottom of the container is dripping saturated. I'm worried it will cause some last minute over watering issues. Tropicana C is falling all over the place. And I mean all over. She has some weird bud growth as well. Some of the tops bent over, but not only that, folded over themselves where the tops are now facing the bottom of the container. It looks like I missed something when placing the plant back in the tent. It's just strange how she is doing this and the other one isn't at all. But this one... I feel like all these bending branches are going to impact the light coverage for the whole plant. Especially the outside where the branches are just falling over. I don't have a support like that, and the other tops are too weak to hold the outside branches up. I'll just have to deal with it. If it comes out messed up and larfy, I'll just use it for concentrate. I'm starting to get an idea of the potential yield. Both plants have tons of buds, but Tropicana C seems to have less dense buds, even though she in bending over everywhere. I'd say that Tropicana Cookies has a potential for 3 oz dried and trimmed. Tropicana C might yield 2.5 oz, but I'm thinking closer to 2 oz. We shall see. She still has a few days more. Maybe a week. The light is the same. It's kind of a good thing. The leaning branches still need light, and they are about 2" lower than the light. That dropped the DLI a little and now I don't have to worry. However, it didn't do anything for Tropicana Cookies. The environment is still kind of wonky. Day time temps are around 76° with the humidity still high at 55%. The night temp was really good though. The average was finally down to 66°. May 10, 2024 A new week and more flushing. Both ladies look really good. Tropicana C is way too heavy for her branches. It's good and bad. It's bad because they are flopping all over. And it shows how weak these tops are. It had to be my nutrient regimen. It's good because it shows the buds are dense and heavy. Tropicana Cookies has significantly stronger branches and can hold a lot of weight for the size of the buds. I could just be a tight fit with all the buds up and down each top. Who knows. They are starting to lean a little bit, but not too bad. Her buds are almost all purple top to bottom and the leaves are getting lighter and lighter throughout the plant. She's covered in trichomes. From what I can see, there's not nearly enough amber trichomes on the buds. Very soon though. I reactivated her wick system today. Her container was about half the weight as it was yesterday. Maybe now that it's not saturated anymore, the wick system will provide what it needs. We shall see later today I think. The lighting for some of this week will stay the same. I'm just waiting for the other 2 plants in the tent to start their flush. Then I'll drop the power down some. Most likely to a DLI of 36 mol/m²/d. We shall see. I'm also curious if it will actually do anything. They are autoflowers and light doesn't really mean much. Just as long as it's on and the right DLI, it should be fine, right? Anyway, I'll drop it when the flush starts anyway. I want to see what happens. The environment is looking a little better. The humidity is lower at 54%, but still way too high. At least it's below 60% finally. But 54% isn't much better. The temperature is pretty good at 76° during the day and 67° at night. I still can't get it down to 66° at night, so 67° will have to suffice. However, there is about a 10° difference between lights out and lights on. It should be like 4 days before they are dried out. Tropicana Cookies looks so close to being done. Her fade is spreading and I'm guessing another 3 days? Maybe less. There is so much more purple now. Ite absolutely beautiful. She definitely will need a trichome check daily. Tropicana C has started showing purple finally. I'd give her another 5 days, maybe a week. I honestly cannot tell. I'll check trichomes tomorrow and every day afterward. Her buds are definitely getting heavier and some even look fatter. She's definitely not quite ready, but super close. The light power will be dropped in a couple days down to a DLI of 36 mol/m²/d. Not much else for that. The environment is still kind of a mess. The temp is fine at 75°, but the humidity is still high at 55%. I even got the temp down to 66°. So that's good. I'd like to keep it there for the rest of the grow. I'll also try to drop the temp during the day to help bring out more color. It will also help with keeping the temp low during the drying period. Anyway, Tropicana Cookies should be done in about 3 days while Tropicana C should take about 5 days. I may wait and harvest both at the same time. Or in between and harvest them in 4 days. Tropicana Cookies just needs more amber trichomes. They are almost all cloudy. Very few clear, but only about 5% amber. Tropicana C on the other hand, has a bit too many clear trichomes and no where near enough amber. 5 days should do it. 4 might be a little early, but that might be the only option. We shall see in 4 days. May 12, 2024 Not much going on today. Tropicana Cookies had a soaked bottom again, so I removed 1 of the wicks. So there should be about half the water going in now. She's definitely not thirsty. So very close. Anyway, she is fading quite nicely and I think she will have a whole bunch of beautiful colors. Lots of purple and some nicely fading fan leaves. Light greens, yellows a tiny bit of red. But not there yet. Tropicana C did not have a soaked bottom today. She never does. It just tells me she is still thirsty. Which also tells me she still has some time left. Maybe 4 to 5 days, but I may harvest her in 3 to 4 days. It all depends on how she looks. I got some trichome pics today. Just one for each plant, but they were the best I could get so there you have it. Anyway, Tropicana Cookies looks very close. More amber trichomes, more cloudy and much less clear. Tropicana C still has a bit too many clear, but definitely has more cloudy. Not too many amber, but more than yesterday. I still plan to drop the DLI down to 36 mol/m²/d in a day or two. It won't really matter, but it's still important to note. It's for the other plants in the tent. The environment is a lost cause. I can still control the temp, but the humidity is still at 57%. I have the temp at 77°, but I think I'm going to drop it down to 74°. I don't think the humidity will go up with the temp change. And if it does, back up to 77°. I'll probably get the 74° mark, so all good. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.9° RH: 55.6% VPD: 1.25 kPa May 13, 2024 Not much going on today. I checked trichomes and I think I'm going to harvest when Tropicana C is done. She should be done in a couple of days. Maybe 3 to 4? Maybe less? I'm supposed to be harvesting tomorrow, but I'm not sure I will. I'll check the trichomes again tomorrow, but both are there. Just a little bit more. Not too much longer though. I have 4 more plants ready to come in like ASAP. Anyway, the trichomes on Tropicana C are mostly cloudy now, with a few clear and more amber. Maybe 8% to 10%. Just a bit more. Tropicana Cookies is a bit further with next to no clear trichomes and the same amber as her sister. Roughly 8% to 10%. She will definitely be done either tomorrow or the next day. So I think it makes more sense to focus mostly on Tropicana C for harvest time. I really don't want to harvest an indica too early. Not to mention, the purple is coming through really quickly for Tropicana C. Tropicana Cookies has almost all purple buds. The very bottom of the plant still has mostly green with purple coming through just a bit. It's more like pink than purple. But the majority of the bud is green. These are the underdeveloped buds. Not even worth of popcorn I think. That stuff will become concentrate. The light intensity will be dropped tonight down to a DLI of 36 mol/m²/d. Kind of pointless for the last couple days, but it needs to be done. The environment is driving me crazy. I can keep the temp at 74°, but then the humidity goes up to 58%. Much too high. Even opening the tent door only drops the humidity down to 52%. I'm going to need to drop the humidity in my room down to 35% somehow and maybe I'll get below 50%. This is ridiculous. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.4° RH: 56.2% VPD: 1.24 kPa Update: I ordered a new dehumidifier for grow tents today. It should be here tomorrow. I'm guessing a lot of my problem with the humidity is my current dehumidifier. It barely pushes air. Cheap and well used. The new one is from Vivosun. A much more reputable company. May 14, 2024 Trichome day! Took a couple videos. The videos are kind of crappy. I hurt my back so I'm shaky. I removed the wick system completely from both plants. Tropicana Cookies was yet again soaked. Not as bad with just the one wick, but still soaked. Anyway, I pulled the wicks and emptied the reservoirs. Maybe that will help with the humidity. They should both be dried out in a few days. Just in time for harvest. Tropicana Cookies looks wonderful! Her buds are nearly black, with nearly black leaves. It's the darkest strain I've ever grown. Insane. She still has a day or 2 left to go. There's trichomes, but not enough. Hopefully 2 days will do it. Trichomes are mostly cloudy, a little bit of clear and not enough amber. Tropicana C is right behind her sister plant in the dark purple color. Her flowers and sugar leaves are getting super dark. Fan leaves are lights ing up, but not fading. I have a feeling she is going to need longer than I have been estimating. I also have a major issue with the side branches all around the plant. They are just laying down. Buds completely facing down. The branches are also super weak. I don't understand what happened. Back to trichomes. There's like 20% clear still and nowhere near enough amber. The lower light intensity doesn't seem to being doing anything, but I'm sure it's preserving the trichomes. Maybe even helping along the plants to finish up. The environment is still a nightmare. The temp is still fine, but the humidity is stuck at 60% again. The humidity in my room is higher than outside. I have the door open to help drop it, but it's not helping with the tent humidity. I have no idea how environmental science works. Lol. I wonder if I defoliate both plants a couple days early, what will happen. Wouldn't it put all of its energy into the buds and increase trichome production, like a last push? I'll research this and decided what to do by tonight. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.3° RH: 59.2% VPD: 1.15 kPa May 15, 2024 Nothing going on today. Both ladies are about halfway there before completely drying out. I'd say another 2 days. I was going to harvest tomorrow, but I checked the trichomes and they still aren't there yet. Plus, I think the other 4 waiting to get in the tent still have time to veg before they overwhelm their containers. One of them is very close, but I don't think she will be a problem in the next 2 days. Plus I can always train her down. Tropicana Cookies is starting to lean more. Her branches aren't quite falling over, but they are definitely getting weighed down. She seems to have basically stopped fading. Still a lot of green leaves, but each top is essentially all dark purple. So this may be it for fading. Now I can only wait for her to ripen up. Hopefully 2 more days. I really can't push it that much further. Tropicana C is still behind her sister by a bit. Not much, but enough for me to be concerned about harvesting them together in 2 days. I guess I'll see how the 4 other plants are doing in 2 days. Maybe I'll wait 3. Who knows at this point. It's been 7 weeks, so it should be any day. I think the light intensity is making the smell stronger. Less intense light is keeping the trichomes nice and plump and filling with cannabinoids. So maybe it was a great idea to drop he intensity. The environment is still kicking my ass. I can't get the humidity to drop below 60% and now I don't have much control over the temp It's stuck at 73°. Not bad for this stage, but it's killing the VPD. It needs to be at like 1.5 kPa, but it's at 1.00 kPa. Super bad. No good. The night temp is still too high. The average last night was 69.1°. Much too warm for night temps. Maybe that's what is taking Tropicana C to turn purple. She's getting there definitely and should be the same color as her sister. They are the same phenotype after all. Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.9° RH: 63.0% VPD: 1.00 kPa May 16, 2024 The final day of the week and I think I need to harvest these 2 tomorrow. The 4 Sour Diesels I have in my 2x2 tent are starting to get bigger and will need more space very soon. Not to mention, they are in my 2x2 tent I use for drying. Tropicana Cookies is basically done. I didn't check her trichomes today, but all the buds top to bottom are purple. Lighter purple in the lowers, but those are popcorn and larf, so I'm not so worried. She also seems to have stopped fading. She's nearly dried out now. Probably tomorrow right when I need to harvest. Tropicana C on the other hand has her trichomes looked at today. Made a video and took a pic from it. Anyway, the trichomes are much more cloudy now and maybe 7% amber. She should go a few more days, but I still have the dilemma of the other plants. I guess it all depends on how they look tomorrow I guess. She hasn't started fading yet, but more purple is showing up everyday. That's another reason I think she could go a few more days. She still hasn't even begun to fade. She's about half dry, but if I have to, I'll add a half gallon of plain water tomorrow to see if she fades at all. I may have to harvest Tropicana Cookies tomorrow and then Tropicana C a few days later. I should be able to fit 4 more 3 gallon containers in the 3x3 with just the one plant gone. It'll be tight and I'll need to Tetris the shit out of it, but I think I can manage. One thing I haven't thought about until now is drying itself. If I have to harvest separately, the 2 to 3 day difference will mess up the dry for the first one harvested. I think? Maybe not. I have a plan. Instead of hanging them next to each other, I'm going to hang them on top of each other. So the first will be Tropicana Cookies on top and later in Tropicana C on the bottom. Theoretically, with this setup, I could control the humidity a bit better. When Tropicana Cookies is nearly done and needs the extra humidity for that even dry, Tropicana C will have brought it back in and I should be able to hold it around 60% for the rest of the drying time for both plants. Lighting doesn't matter anymore. It's served it's purpose and I could technically take one out now for a 2 day dark period before harvest. But if anything, I'll wait for tomorrow. I honestly didn't think about the dark period until now. Haha. Whoops. That may just solve problem entirely. I don't have to wait for harvest time. My other plants won't get too big and I can put them in the 3x3 more comfortably. I can also harvest both plants at the same time. Or, if I have room, I can place Tropicana C in the dry tent on the bottom while Tropicana Cookies gets hung up. I don't think there's enough space though. Anyway, I think the best course of action is to put Tropicana Cookies in the dry tent for a 2 day dark period and harvest both when Tropicana C is ready. Then I can see if there's a difference between lights all the way to harvest or dark for 2 days. Fun! The environment is the bane of my existence. The new dehumidifier is definitely stronger than the old one and more compact. I even left the old one in there as well. Both running at the same time can only drop the humidity to a solid 60%, but my room is 63% and I can't do anything about it. I also have the tent completely sealed off. I think it's helping to keep the humidity from climbing to 65% or 70%. I have the temp up a bit to 76° and 77°. Just to help a smidge with the DLI. The only thing I have an advantage with is my ari flow and spread canopy. There's 2 fans blowing around air and the exhaust. It should help prevent mold or bud rot, but with such high humidity for days, I can only imagine something bad is happening. Maybe not bud rot or mold, but the chemical composition of the buds? May 17, 2024 Day 92 We are at the end. Tropicana Cookies is in the dry tent having a nice 48 hours of dark. Tropicana C is now in the back of the tent with the 4 Sour Diesels up front. Yes I Tetrised the shit out of it to get them in. But everything is snug. Tropicana Cookies is officially done with the main tent and is now in the dry tent for dark. I defoliated her up yesterday and only left the sugar leaves on. No sense in keeping the fan leaves on the plant if it's going to be pitch black for 2 days. Plus it's much easier to manage. And will be much easier at trimming time. She is also nearly dried out. Just perfect timing for this part. I just hope I'm not too early. Trichomes are almost all cloudy and there's a good 10% amber. A couple more days and in the dark should help them mature right along. Tropicana C is still a hot floppy mess, but the tops have some potential. I think the majority of this plant will end up being pressed for concentrate. I wish I had a bubble washer. Oh well. Pressing flower is the option then. Anyway, she isn't quite fading still, so I'm hoping for that over the next couple of days. If not, then I'll defoliate and put her in the dark for a couple days as well. Her buds are all purple and that's what matters. She has about 5% amber trichomes and maybe 10% clear. Not enough cloudy for my taste. 4 more days? Maybe. 2 in the main tent and 2 more in the dark tent. I'm still trying to free up space for the Sour Diesels. The light doesn't matter really anymore. She isn't growing at all and her buds are probably as big as they are getting. It's just a matter of ripening now. Don't really need a lot of light for that part. But still, I'm leaving the light as it is. Especially now that the Sour Diesels are in there. The environment pisses me off. How the holy hell can I change the temp by 5 degrees and have no impact whatsoever on the humidity? Seriously. The temp is climbing a bit. I have to keep an eye on it as it's going above 78° and I don't want to melt my trichomes. Back down to 74° with the stupid humidity stuck at 62%. Annoying. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.4° RH: 61.4% VPD: 1.17 kPa Quick update: I had to increase the light power to accommodate the Sour Diesels now in the tent. They needed 200 to 25 mol/m²/d, so the light power as increased to 80%. The DLI only increased a couple points. No at 38 mol/m²/d. Everything looks fine. May 18, 2024 Nothing going on today. Tropicana Cookies is finishing up day 1 of dark. The humidity is a nightmare in the tent. It keeps climbing over 66%. I've tried everything at my disposal. Leave the tent door open, dehumidifier in the bedroom, dehumidifier in the tent? I don't think I tried that yet. I have 2 dehumidifiers in the main tent trying to keep the humidity down in there to no avail. I'm not bothering with trichomes today. I'll check trichomes tomorrow afternoon when she finishes up day 2 of dark. I may have to keep her in for a 3rd day. We shall see. Tropicana C needs to get out of the tent ASAP. Her floppy tops are flopping right over the sour Diesels, which are growing vigorously. 2 of them grew 2" last night alone. They need the room now. Tropicana C just isn't ready for the dark tent yet. Maybe a few more days? She's just starting to show signs of fading now. I'll check trichomes tomorrow as well. The lighting is of no concern. It's making the tent too hot, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything to Tropicana C. Tropicana Cookies doesn't have light. Lol. The environment is a nightmare. Humidity is WAY too high. And now the temp is too high. No matter what I do, I can't control it at all. The temp is 77° and the humidity is still ridiculous at 66%. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.4° RH: 64.2% 1.05 kPa Update: so I was researching other issues high humidity can cause. It slows down production and the plant won't drink because there is too much moisture in the air. It makes total sense. All of the flowering plants are taking forever to finish up. Now I think I know why. Also, I added 1/2 gallon of plain water to Tropicana C reservoir. As she isn't quite done yet, I would rather her have a source of water if she needs or wants it. I added one of the dehumidifiers to the dark tent with Tropicana Cookies. Now the humidity is around 51% with the temp hanging out around 76° to 77°. It spiked into 79° earlier, but I was messing with the heat in my room. May 19, 2024 Busy day today. No watering or anything, but a very busy day. Tropicana Cookies was wet trimmed and chopped down today. It took 94 days total from seed to harvest. After wet trimming, her total wet weight was 14 oz. A bit surprising to me. I was honestly thinking closer to like 9 oz, but I'll take it. Trimming took roughly 4 hours. I'm not sure why, but it did. I'm slow I guess. There was no sense in trying to keep the trimmings for this round. There really wasn't much and I need a bigger table to catch it all. Messy. I've also discovered that the majority of the buds are a bit loose. Mostly the lowers and some of the middles, but the tops are mostly good. I think based on my own mistakes, I'll be using the majority of this plant for concentrate. Maybe the whole plant. We will see. It all depends on how it dries and what the end result is. Both plants were not very happy with my nutrient regimen. Oh well. A lesson well learned. Tropicana C is still floppy as ever, but now instead of a near black purple, she's almost like magenta or something. Dark pink? Lol. Something like that. She's starting to fade now and most of her tops are all colored. I'm just waiting for the fan leaves to catch up. I'll keep her in the tent for as long as I can. Maybe 3 more days? Maybe. Her buds are definitely loose in the bottoms. The mids and tops are pretty nice. We'll see how they look after wet trimming. The dry tent is hanging out at 70° and 61% humidity. I'd love it to go down to 65°, but for some reason it won't. I'll get it right in no time. Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.5° RH: 68.3% VPD: 0.84 kPa May 20, 2024 We have fade! Tropicana C is finally starting to fade. Light green leaves coming in with purple hues. The buds are basically pink, it I expect them to get darker as she moves along. Tropicana Cookies Day 1 Drying. She looks good. Not much to report. She's drying. It could take between 5 and 7 days. Due to her smaller buds and the wet trim I did, I don't expect her to take very long to dry. And it seems that the environment is pretty nice. 61% humidity and 68°. The temperature could be lower though. Tropicana C looks good. Still super floppy, but she has pretty buds. Not very tight buds. I'll do the same wet trim as well. She should end up drying after about 5 days. For now, she's drying her soil out and fading at the same time. I might give her another half gallon just to tie her over until harvest. I also plan on defoliation in the next few days after the fade is well underway. The light is the same. No changes there. The environment is still wonky. The temp is at 74° which I finally got control of again. The humidity on the other hand is still super high at 65%. I really don't understand. It was 40% humidity out yesterday and even with the outside door wide open, the humidity did nothing to drop. Nothing at all. It's weird. It's back to being humid today, so no opening the door. Hopefully I can get it to clear up ASAP. Oh, I did just learn that the central air isn't working either. And that is the main source of cool dry air. With none, I'm stuck using a portable AC that just blows wet air back into the room when the condenser is off. Stupid design. Very stupid. Even the dehumidifier function doesn't work right. It does the same thing except with heat. So my room gets too warm but the humidity stays the same. Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.6° RH: 67.7% VPD: 0.86 kPa May 21, 2024 Day 2 of drying for Tropicana Cookies. The whole plant shrunk to half its size. Small tight buds. As I said before, the majority of this plant will most likely be pressed. We shall see. Tropicana C is showing way more fade now. Like twice as much as yesterday. It's coming on fast and hopefully that means she's finishing up fast. I checked her trichomes today. Looking good. She definitely needs way more amber though. But has much less clear. So it's mostly cloudy, but definitely nowhere near enough amber. What's funny is how floppy she is. One would think those buds wouldn't develop properly, but they are swelling and getting more purple just like the rest of the plant. Interesting. I still don't know what happened here, but I'm guessing it has all to do with the nutrients this run. Bad timing. This plant may also be mostly pressed. Her buds aren't as dense as Tropicana Cookies and they are definitely not tight. Unless by some miracle, they blow up and fill in over the next few days. We shall see. The environment is finally leveling out now that the central air is on. Finally. It won't drop the humidity all the way to the low 40s%, but it will drop it below 55%. And that's keeps the tent below 60% and put of the danger zone for mold. However, I know it's still too high for the plant to perform at max potential, but it's the best I can do for now. Once it kicks on again, the humidity will hopefully drop to 50%, then maybe my dehumidifiers will start working as they are meant to. Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.7° RH: 62.9% VPD: 1.00 kPa May 22, 2024 Tropicana Cookies day 3 of drying. I haven't weighed her up yet to see how far along she is. I'm really not expecting her to take very long at all. Her buds are small so she should be done in a couple more days. Tropicana C is fading quite quickly. Looking really close to finishing up. However, the Sour Diesels in the tent are already in pre-flower and are starting to stretch. The need space ASAP. So I think I'll harvest her whole tomorrow she's not very leafy and I don't think she will get mold at all. She still has super loose buds so she will dry up within 5 to 7 days I think. Even at 60% RH, I think. On the other hand, she was way too dry, so I added a half gallon to the reservoir. I was planning on harvesting in a couple days, but I don't think I have that much time anymore. Originally I was going to wet trim Tropicana C just like Tropicana Cookies, but her branches are way too weak and floppy to trim without snapping branch after branch. So as I said earlier, I'll be dry trimming her instead. The environment is back to being wonky. The central air hasn't turned on yet today and it's 85° out. So my room is suffering a bit with my crappy portable AC. It blows wet air when the compressor turns off. So the humidity is back up above 60%. The temp is fine at 75°, so I'm opening the tent periodically until the AC turns on. I also added a new trichome video for Tropicana C. Getting really close. Let me know how close I am? Or does it not really matter at this point? Update: I decided to completely defoliate Tropicana C. I don't know I will do. Full wet trim. The buds are small and so are the branches. So there shouldn't be any issues with the higher humidity. I'll be doing it in sessions as not to stink up the whole house. But basically anything with a stem I can access is getting cut off. Who knows, maybe I'll finish defoliating fst than I think and will wet trim anyway. She is definitely getting harvested tomorrow. I'm completely out of space for the Sour Diesels. I have a moisture meter for the stems and will be using that tomorrow to see how far along she is. Still a couple more days I think. It might be Harvest Day for Tropicana C! Honestly, I would have liked a little more time, but I have other plants that need the space. So I'm wet trimming her today and will harvest later tonight or maybe tomorrow. We shall see. Either way, she is done even if she's not. I'll take one last Trichome Video after I'm done trimming. Then I can see if she's actually ready or not. Maybe she is. I don't think so though. May 24, 2024 Day 99 Harvest Day! What an adventure. 98 days and we are finally harvesting. Both plants turned out pretty decent for their size and my screw ups. Wet weight for Tropicana Cookies was 14 oz after wet trim. Tropicana C finished up at 16 oz wet trimmed. She'll need a good week to dry up. Tropicana Cookies Day 5 of drying. Looking good. She'll need a couple more days. I did take a weight measurement on her last night and she's down to 4.5 oz. I don't think she'll be losing much more weight. So I can estimate maybe 2 oz. Maybe 2.5 oz. Tropicana C was actually harvested last night. But I decided to record it today. Wet trimming this plant was kind of a pain in the bottom parts yesterday. Not only did I take multiple breaks because of my back but the plant was so floppy it took all day to finish up. I actually harvested her last night around 10 pm. Of course I'll be updating in about a week with the total dry weight. Total wet weight for both ladies was 30 oz. Maybe a total of 5 oz? Maybe 4 oz. I'm not sure. These buds are fairly solid regardless of the size. Especially on Tropicana C. Hence the floppy branches everywhere. The environment in the dry tent is a bit weird. It's hovering around 66° with the humidity around 60%. Although, it may drop when the central air kicks on. We shall see. BUT as I said while ago, putting Tropicana C in 5 days after Tropicana Cookies helped immensely with keeping the humidity around 62%. Perfect conditions for perfectly dried bud. Both plants ended up with beautiful purple buds. I can't wait to see how they turn out. The 2 I sampled dried out to be pretty hard and dense. Tiny lowers, but I was just taste testing. Really tasty and a crazy good high. Dry System Environment: Temp: 67.2° RH: 57.6% VPD: 0.97 kPa I'll update when something happens like weighing mid way through the drying process and when Tropicana Cookies finishes drying in a day or 2. May 25, 2024 Tropicana Cookies Day 6 of drying. The branches are still bendy, but the buds feel dry. I plucked 2 small buds and they snapped off with ease. Not too dry though. I'd say later this evening or tomorrow morning drying will be done. Tropicana C Day 2 of drying. Nothing else to report. It's raining today so naturally, my the RH in my room spiked up to 65% because the insulation upon insulation on top of insulation is useless. So the dry tent may end up suffering at 65% humidity. But the temp isn't too bad. It's 68° and climbs to 70° at times. Dry System Environment: Temp: 69° RH: 58.7% VPD: 1.00 kPa May 26, 2024 Well, the buds on Tropicana Cookies feel dry. The wood meter I have says 10.5%. BUT the branches are still really bendy. I'm really confused. Should I manicure and put them in Grove Bags and burp more often if they are still wet? What does everyone think? Leave a comment. I'd love to read other opinions on this matter. Tropicana Cookies Day 7 drying and I had to ask what to do with these dry buds. They should be done by now. They were wet trimmed and aren't the biggest of buds with some being airy. I'm not entirely sure what to do. Tropicana C Day 3 Drying. Everything looks good with her so far. The humidity is absolutely bonkers today. So I'm fighting 64% RH in the dry tent. So I have the exhaust fan up a bit higher. Not only will it help keep the air flow up, but it will also help to dry the plants faster in this humidity. At least that's my theory. Faster moving air should in turn dry out the buds faster. But because the environment is super humid, it should take the same amount of time as normal 58% humidity. In other words, it should be all good. Maybe. Dry System Environment: Temp: 65.6° RH: 64.4% VPD: 0.77 kPa May 27, 2024 The humidity is HIGH. Really high. Like 65% high. The only thing I can think of is putting a dehumidifier in there, but then that messes up the whole dry with dry air on the bottom and still somewhat moist air at the top. If the humidity doesn't let up in a few hours, I'll give it a shot, but I don't think its a good idea. It may be as the lower plant just started drying, and the upper plant is on day 8 and not done. Absolutely because the humidity is too high. I'd prefer it around 58% to 60%. That should have been a good 7 day dry. But the environment has been all over the place. Sometimes low in the beginning and now stupid high. Tropicana Cookies Day 8 drying. She has like a day or 2 left. But I'm not sure with this humidity. It could be a full 14 days. And that's not the greatest of timing. Too much risk for mold. Tropicana C Day 4 Drying and I have concerns. She's drying but really slowly and with the high humidity she really runs a major risk of mold. I'll have to keep an eye on her and make sure I open the dry tent every few hours. Not ideal, but I can shut lights off and kick the exhaust fan on full blast. And that's what I just did. I didn't open the tent, but I kicked the exhaust way up. Maybe that will suck some of the humidity out and at least bring in fresh air. Quick Update: I took a small branch as a sample today. Manicured and cleaned up weighs 1.8 grams. We'll see how she smokes. Dry System Environment: Temp: 67.6° RH: 63.1% VPD: 0.85 kPa May 28, 2024 Tropicana Cookies was trimmed up and bagged today. She weighed in at 62 grams. Not too bad. I made mistakes with this one. Tropicana C Day 5 of drying. Nothing else to report. High humidity is making the drying process a bit wonky, but I think I've managed to keep it at a reasonable level today. Just around 62.5% humidity. It did spike to 70% for some reason earlier today, so I opened the tent and let the air clear out. May 29, 2024 The humidity is completely messing up the dry and cure. I feel like the buds from Tropicana Cookies are still moist, but it also could be the 74% humidity today. No clue what to do about it. I pulled them out of the bag for now. I also put a hydrometer in the bag alone. I'll put the buds back in when the hydrometer reads under 66%. Tropicana C Day 6 drying and we are looking good. The humidity being so high as it is will make this plant take much longer to dry out. I'd say another 4 to 5 days. Maybe even 6 days. It's ridiculous. So the humidity is at 69% and the temp at 66°. I turned the big dehumidifier on in my room. Hopefully that drops the humidity in the dry tent. We shall see. Dry Tent Environment: Temp: 66.1° RH: 69.1% VPD: 0.59 kPa May 30, 2024 Tropicana Cookies came out a little too wet. My bad on that. I have her in a grove bag in the dry tent. The bag isn't sealed of course, and when I checked today, the bag was at 60%. I closed the bag. I'll check back later to see how it's going and if it spiked back up over 62%. So instead of 2.25 oz, I'll cut it down to 2 oz. Makes sense. It's probably more, but I've already pressed 3 grams and smoked maybe 4 grams? I didn't weigh the buds. Oh well. Tropicana C is looking good. She's on day 7 of drying and she may end up being done in a day or 2 with the humidity finally at a manageable percentage. The environment is looking really good today. The humidity is right where I want it at 56% and the temp is at 68°. I really cannot ask for better in my current environment. Update: so I checked the snap test today and they aren't snappy, but still slightly broke. The buds were definitely done drying. We ended up with 77 grams of manicured dried bud. Time for 4 weeks of curing in the grove bags. June 2, 2024 Just a quick update: Tropicana Cookies has finally leveled out in the Grove Bags to 62%. Finally. So now it's time to actually cure. Set it and forget it with these Grove Bags. So I'll check in them every few days. Tropicana C has finally taken in enough moisture for curing. Now she's at 62% as well.
