Never. ALL of the plants energy to grow is made by/in the leaves.......so........ less leaves = less energy being made = less growth. For maximum size and fastest growth, leave your plant be as nature intended, she has evolved to be at her absolute pinnacle when it comes to performance and none of this performance involves removing perfectly healthy, green, energy making and life sustaining leaves for no reason other than "just because everyone else does it". Try and only ever remove yellow leaves, for by the time they are yellow, they have served their purpose. Tucking leaves under or training them out of the way is much more sensible.

Hey Growmie, I try not to defoliate as much as possible, except at key times. You can try to bend and tuck your leaves under or behind or around your bud sites or tips. I defoliate 1 week before I flip to flower, to allow for recovery…then again at week 3 of flower. Other wise bend and tuck. That’s just what I do and my plants seem not to get too stressed out, and have enough foliage to get the job done, without blocking sites. Happy Gardening 👊🇨🇦❤️

As far a defoliation is concerned, I don't touch anything until the plant starts to go into flower - and maybe not even then depending on the plant. If you'd like a great article on the subject, I've found this one particularly good.... https://www.growweedeasy.com/nebulas-super-simple-3-step-defoliation-tutorial Good luck!

Ciao!
