Do you remove small "buds" when doing defoliation?

When doing defoliation, are you removing these small "buds" (see pictures) that are not getting enough light?

I certainly do - and have done just today! They're not going to amount to even a half-way decent popcorn bud so why waste the plant's energy on them? Snip, snip!!

I remove them. I call them "suckers" because the growth is the same as a tomato plant's "suckers"

Depends on your strategy..
but those small ones, down low like that I always personally do remove.

Defoliation after LST (week 5)After starting LST on all 5 of my plants I’ve noticed that some fan leaves are still blocking light from new growth sites. Popcorn/ mini branches keep/remove?Buds are tiny not fattening at week 6. I also have lots of popcorn nugs. Being first growth not sure to remove them or keep them at this late in flowering (week 6), might stress the girls out or might even help fattening buds?

Remove lower branches on this grow?Should I just remove the lower branches or keep them? They are getting pretty heavily shaded but I rotate the grow bag daily to expose the under canopy growth.
