when yu have a toxicity, it might be a good idea to flush, if bad enough. flushing only slows the plant down otherwise... only reduces growth/ripening, because that stuff cannot ocur without the building blocks.. and just as it is more difficult for our bodies to move energy out of storage to use (less efficient) so is it less efficient for the plant, even if it can suck down its own leaves for a bit. blind taste tests point to the conclusion that ppl had a little confirmation bias about their "techniques" ... we all do. we all do something that is useless but thing it does something.. the better of us admit it to ourselves, accept that we were wrong on move on. I did. I used to let the plant fade the first 1 year - 1.5 years... when i didn't do it one time, I thought it tasted just as good or better, even -- and it was a clone of a plant i had harvested and smoked before.. genetic identical and very similar growing environment... so i stopped doing it. Around same time the little experiement was done analyzing mineral content and further confirmed the conlcusion.. it is not 100% certain, but ... based on basic human behaviour it's 90-95% certain it is a useless thing ppl perpetuated without cause.

also, it doesn't change mineral content in the plant.. flushing only impacts the substrate. The plant has no way to excrete things.. it either uses it fast enough or it does not and it builds up.. the only way it is getting rid of that is if you starve it.. hence, you only flush when it's toxic in an extreme way, otherwise just reduce that particular component of feed and let the plant use the reserves until symptoms abate, then re-up the component but not as high as before. trial and error you find a happy zone that'll work with 95% of plants if you resolve it well over time and take notes.

Flushing is a bit of a myth, there are times and places when it is needed but that is typicality only when the plants have been over fed and a buildup of salts are occurring in the medium. You then use a lot of water to reduce its concentration so the plant does not die or suffer serious effects of the unbalanced EC in the medium. To flush in order to remove "minerals" and "chemical tastes" from buds end of harvest is "bunk science" its just not true and its not how the plants operate. It has been proven to be trash on multiple studies and lab reports. If you still feel the need to do it, that's up to you, if it brings you peace of mind go nuts. Lots of people do weird things despite all the negative risks or lack of a real tangible benefit. like praying to a god or smoking lol. If you wanted to just cut out all the nutrients in the last week vs using excess water to flush them all out and away it will do the same thing and it will be less wasteful. Best Of Luck!

High MuzzFuzz, Because you are growing in coco what doesn't got any nutrient buffing you only need to flush the last week. When 50% of the trichomes are cloudy and a few are amber it is time to flush 1 week. The plant will use her spare nutrients from her leaves. The plants is at full potency after that week flushing. Around 70% trichomes will be cloudy and 10-20% amber. Enjou your harvest!
