you don't pick the volume...
the dynamics of pot size and substrate determines how much you should give.. you learn it retroactively after minimal trial, error and simple observation.
You give enough irrigation for 10% runoff.. erring on high side is better than erring on low side. It shoudl contain fertilizer every single irrigation around 1.3-1.5EC of a well-balanced mix. if you have leaf symptoms, it is not a well-balanced mix for one reason or another and self-reflection is needed, not coddling of egos. (general suggestion and not an assumption of you behaviour)
So... always fertilize.. always get 10% runoff... and you will maintain a happy zonen of concentration in the medium... zero buildup as long as you feed at proper concentration -- trial and errow with adjustments over time will get you there.
how much water? you'll know after first cycle or 2... which will then make planning and mixing of nutes with less waste possible. Alays water at same pot-weight and it will always requie a similar volume of water to achieve 10% runoff... if you try to recognize this, you can then stat mixing a proper volume for irigation with less carryover or waste or eliminate it altogether.
pH should be around 6.0. This gives a little room for error on each side... a good nutient product should be pH bffered which will limit pH swings... products that have pH swings are dogshit trash products made by amateurs hat shouldn't be in thr business and relying on a marijana label/culture to buy their trash. These are the type of people that probably don't hire a chemist, cause being smart is for nerds, lol.
so, if you use same percentage of perlite, et al, and you water at same loss of weight, it'll be a consistent volume needed.... with coco the safest is to wait for that top layer to initially change color... this prevents algea on top with a constantly moist surface exposed to some level of light. you can also make use of benefits of frequen fertigation in coco, assuming proper drainage qualities and properly sized plant to pot. If it doesn't drink fast enough relative to size of pot, it won't be "frequent", in other words. you need some minimum amount of weight-loss before fertigating again, but studies show 2-3x a day is roughly where diminishing returns from such methods occur. probably want 25-33% weight loss before re-fertigating so that roots don't rot.
i'd get the basics down first before trying something complicated... and definitely look up some SOP for frequent fertigation taht is known to work well, if you do try it.
