I have 2 small plants few weeks old, I would like to transplant them into 2 DWC buckets. Is it possible? I also have an EC pen and H202 being delivered today. Neither of which I have ever used. If I am able to how would I go about it ?

Thanks guys I took a bit from everyone's answer here and I really appreciate all the reply. I'm going to hold off until next run when I can do this properly as I really want to learn hydroponics and the way they work with some success. Hope all is well 👍

I've taken plants about that size from 1 gallon soil and thrown them in DWC, so as others have said, coco will be fine. I changed the res once or twice during the first week though because I started to get a lot of foam in my res. It took about a week to get the roots through the net cup. I lowered the light intensity and set the EC at .8-.9 until the roots hit water and she was drinking a good amount. Getting your water level might be tricky, so using a spray bottle to spray the middle or bottom of the net cup will help. You could top water too, but it is better to water from below so the roots search for water down and not up. Adding a mycorrhizae product should help it transition easier, but not really needed and if you are using h2o2 I think it will just kill the beneficial's in a root inoculant.

Done it - not a huge deal.. my plants weren’t as developed probably as these. They were clones that had almost gone rootbound in solos. Rinsed the shit outta the roots to remove as much coco as possible - some will be stuck permanently to the roots tho. But coco is inert so it’s not like you’re doing it from soil which I would not advise. As long as they aren’t autos and you don’t mind investing some bounce back time - go for it. I’d recommend following your own thoughts on stuff like this. If you are in it to learn and for the experience essentially.. just do it, try stuff. A lot of ppl answering on here aren’t as experienced as you might think

In reality, no. The stress of that alone and change of environment to the roots will 100% cause you many issues im not even gonna get into. Hold the coco and then do your DWC. Good luck pal

fwiw, i'd just finish it up and just hold your horses a bit. even though it's possible, it's a process you do to avoid catastrophe, typically.. at least it looks like they are in small pots at moment, if you do do it..

i wouldn't do it with autoflowers, but if yo don't mind a potential delay o even some planats stunted while others recover faster (even if clones), go for it. you can carefully remove the substrate fom the roots. I've done it before to get rid of a bug infestation of a pile of shit clone i got from a mass clone swap.. these people looked to use dirt out of thei back yard it was sandy AF and no drainage, lol... anyway... took a week or 2 to get back in stride. i used a bucket of water and a utility tub... carefully rinsed water over it removing substrate from roots... gently untangling... inevitably going to rip fine oot hairs and anger plant. Will definitely be droopy AF cause the roots will be drowned a bit by the end of the process. but that will bounce back shortly. h2o2 helps sanitize things.. if you h2o2 in rez, don't bother with beneficial microbes as you'll be pissing money out the window. callibrate pen and it's pretty easy to use... follow instructions. 1.3-1.5EC will be a good range assuming good ratio of nutes. you'll mainly spot check for odd swings in EC or ph, .. this would indicate some sort of issue with rez or maybe a sign to buy nutes that properly ph-buffer the solution.

I've never done it but it's possible the coco (which I use) is an inert and very draining substrate, suitable for dwc you don't even need to replace it with expanded clay scrub around the roots and let them out under the pot into the water and you're good to go just be careful, if the coconut is thin that no pieces fall into the water which could block the correct functioning of the system otherwise clean the roots and add clay💪

@growinggrannie unlike majority of the people on here I am not into any of my "runs" for much as I am not growing from seed and I know those can be expensive. I have 6 strains and I just keep making clippings

@growinggrannie my coco grow is not affected by these extra guys I just thought I would give it a shot as I have an extra space for my 2 buckets and a light already hung. The h202 I got was 12% so I know it's really got to be diluted I'm just not sure how much yet. Getting different directions online each website i check lol. I was wondering if it would benefit my versAgrow drip system if I added a little bit to the res

Why are you wanting to change horses in mid-stream? I'd recommend finishing out your coco grow while learning as much as you can about DWC... You only, btw, use a couple of tsp of H2O2 in your bucket to keep it clean and kill off any bad bacteria that might start or want to start growing... The EC pen is used to measure EC which you'll have to learn about if you want to grow DWC... finish your coco grow and by the time they're ready for harvest, you'll be ready for a different kind of growing.
