Most of pistils, around 65% must be turned brown and as most of us know trichomes never lie, SO, 98 % of milky trichomes and just some ambers around the entire bud is the pick of harvest time. When you see that is very close to get milky at all you have to flush it A LOT with balanced ph water till the end. i use to flush with the triple litres of my pots quantity and let the water run out till it gets clear.

If checking the trichomes remember to turn off your grow light as the intense light makes it harder to tell their true colours

Did you mean chop not crop? There are differing opinions but I would check trichome colors with a magnification of some sort. I use a jewelers loop in front of the iphone camera. take some pictures magnified of your best tops. I like to harvest at about 10% amber colored trichomes.

I would personally start flush now. Keep an eye on trichomes, be sure you check the ones on the buds not the leaves. I find leaves trichomes mature and degrade faster than on the flower/calyx. Pistil/Stigma colour will indicate flower maturity, but it will not indicate the cannabinoid concentration and potency like the trichome will. So in the end I would harvest when the trichomes tell me to. I mean, in the end we are farming for the trichomes, not the plant matter.
