Lower buds crumbled at harvest

Hi growmates, I tried flushing the last week, and the plant seemed to die, with buds beginning to dry. When I harvested, the lower buds just crumbled. The colas though were still tight. Do you think I should have kept giving nutrients to the end? Has anyone experienced this?

I looked at the diary in week 9 and you did a too drastic defoliation. The plant needs light on the leaves; if you remove the leaves, the plant will have to grow them back, so instead of directing all its energy to the buds, it will have to split it between buds and new leaves... so you'll have a reduced yield... For the flush, if you start 2 weeks early, you can water normally; the plants will slowly discharge while absorbing the last nutrients, and then you can do a thorough flush a few days before harvest. You'll avoid these problems...

Extreme defoliation has killed this plant ability to make energy and be healthy, hence the lower, smaller buds dying prematurely. What you did in week 10 amounts to plant torture in my opinion! All of the plants energy that it needs to grow and be healthy is made in the leaves. Less leaves = less energy = less growth = less health = less yields. I personally NEVER defoliate and for the last 30+ years only ever remove yellow/brown leaves. I do however believe in some light, well considered "lollipopping".
