Should I trim/jar now or wait another day or 2?

Today is day 4 of drying and I've unfortunately had my temps around 68 and humidity at around 42%. The buds feel pretty dry/on the verge of crispy but the stems still have some bend. Should I jar tonight or will the moisture even out and wait for that snap? Thanks for any help!

when they first turn crispy, usually have 12-24 more hours at least. Though you are in fairly low humidity, so it may be closer to 12h. The moisture takes longer to even out from center of buds after the moisture nearer the surface evaporates at a faster rate... so there's lag. Sealing doesn't draw it out, it just prevents moisture from leaving the surface as easily. if you toss them in a sealed container, check back after a few hours and see if they turned soft on outside again.. if so, take them out for a few hours. Wait till it feels dry on outside and repeat... until it is no longer getting 'soft' after putting back into container. Commonly referred to as "sweating." You don't want wet nugs in a sealed container for any extended period of time. The more consistent you keep your temps and rh, the more familiar you'll get with the process. you'll know based on size/density of buds how long it'll take before you start. I dry at

68F isn't too bad, if you were at 68C I'd say bye to any terps. 4 days is not nearly enough to be dry in those conditions. The outside of the buds and leaves dry fast, but the moisture is still in the stems. If you put it in a jar now, the stems will still be letting out moisture and you'll have a humidity spike in the jar and if not checked and burped often, it will lead to mold. Always be patient in this part. It is incredibly easy to ruin the flavor and potency, or mess it up completely. It's one of the most important parts of the grow to get quality flower IMO.

You left most leaves on so would of slowed the dryinh slightly keep them hanging there till the stems are snappy then into jars or your asking for mold etc... I try for atleast a week hanging in a controlled manner till snappy then into jars with humidity control packs or Into Grove bags, check them out maybe. Hope that helps dude.. Happy farming

If you chop and trim and the buds and then they smell like piss or ammonia when you burp them in cure. it means they need more time drying and can lay them flat on a baking sheet for another day or so. The main issue is controaling mold as excess mositure in a sealed jar can lead to some bad things.

Maybe you cooked your terps. Let them hang. Stems are you indicators, not outside feel of bud.
