What equipment do you use for creating time lapses?

I've setup a Wyze Cam V3 Pro, and while it claims to be 2K resolution the picture is really poor. I've heard some people use retired phones for this, what's your method?

I use an old phone and use an app called premium camera, I set that to take the amount of pictures I want through lights on, then once its finished I use an app called pic pac motion capture to put all the pictures in to make the lapse video.

I think a lot of ppl use go pros. but use whats available. if its older phones then do it. prob some custom apps for time lapse. takes pics every so often and converts it into a video.
