coco hydroponics/DWC Hybrid: I want to find out as much as I can!

I have seen many freakshow monster autos (850g/1.3kg dry yield!!!) all grown in the same fashion: plant grown in smart pot coco/perlite mix normally 3 weeks, THEN placed in med sized shallow water reservoir, several airstones/water pump in the reservoir. did anyone try?

this one particular strain is actually auto ultimate by dutch passion and you can find this one grow diary on their website.... That being said: @NobodysBuds could I reach out to you in private as to discuss on how I can re create this system (you mentioned about the dodgy reservoir that may create sediments buildups and fermentations)? what if I would rotate (...and therefore sanitise and clean) between 2 reservoirs each day, keeping the res as sanitary as possible? after having tried soil, coco and DWC I can confidently say that coco hydroponics is my method of choice but would like to see how I can push it even further to a 1kg auto harvest.

it's about readily available nutes and not stunting the plant === along with gentics being the key. this guy is basically doing a "dutch bucket" esque thing... there's a res and solid substrate, but the res is exposed so, that's going to grow weird stuff eventually. you could probably achieve same in soilless with constant drip setup or frequent irrigations every day.... assuming plant is up for the task. autos are volatile bitches. don't cramp the roots early and it should vege for a longer period than if you did cramp the roots.

That's a great setup actually. Never seen anyone doing that. This plant didn't vegged for 3 weeks only, seem like 7+ weeks of veg. Also, these leaves aren't from Freakshow.
