m0useanswered grow question 9 months ago Yes and no, mostly no, it will do it a little bit, but the temperature difference between the alcohol solution in a double boiler and just the weed in a oven is big difference.
A double boilers max temp limit is about 100c/212f give or take a few depending on atmospheric pressure.
A oven set to 232c/450f for about 30 min is twice as much heat. about 52% more. This is the standard temp/time for most decarb tutorials I've read.
It would be best if you decarb before hand then diffuse into the alcohol and evaporate out.
I like to toss my alcohol extract in sugar then dehydrate at about 130c with the oven door cracked open and the fans on high like as if I was broiling something, OVEN DOOR MUST BE CRACKED OPEN or the vaporized alcohol will flash ignite in the oven and go boom. Stir the mixture every 15 min or so, should take about 1 to 1.5 hrs. The sugar dries and become crystal again. add into teas or bake with it. Can also infuse weed into fats using a crock pot and if temps hit 350ish in the oil then no need to decarb
.
FYI, use food grade products meant for drinking and eating, no Isopropyl alcohol aka rubbing alcohol. Get everclear or whatever highest proof you can find.
Good Luck!
