Less Light, More Defoliation?

Hydronaut
Hydronautstarted grow question 9 months ago
Looks like some light burn on the taller tops? If I turn light intensity down to 35-38, I lose intensity to lower buds. I wonder if lowering intensity, and get in there with a little defol below those tall tops, is a remedy? I’ll be under 400 PPFD without defol on lower.

Its an option. Lower intensity is less energy + less leaves it might not add up. I'd keep it as is. and use some LST if available to raise light, also if its available. Good Luck!

Hey Buddy, First of all - pretty nice grow and trained so far :) Yeah if you lower the intensity of your light = less light for lower buds = less yield overall. If you got the chance try to raise your light to still go with same max intensity. I would not defo that much at your point of plant cycle. I would only get rid of a few big fan leaves which might cover lower buds. And try to LST the outside branches outwards to get kinda mainlighting and better air movement :) If you got further questions feel free to DM Have fun and good luck !!

Unfortunately this is an issue that we have to face if we don't shape the plant to produce everything at the top. Defoliation now is a bit risky but try pulling the bug leaves to the side or bend them down. Good luck with the rest of your grow
