m0useanswered grow question 2y ago I like to wait till it have some good roots before I transplant anything, I have used coir pellets and peat pellets, I do agree adding in some beneficial microbes helps fend off dampening off and molds.
When transplanting be gentle as the peat pellet casing/mesh is easy to break. I sometimes peal mine off depending how well its establish but you can burry it in as is and give it a good water.
The only thing you need to be aware with Coir vs other soilless mediums is it can steal all the available Ca and Mg if its not buffered well. So before plants into the medium of coir, give it a good rinse to wash away any excess salts and soaking in CalMg solution followed by another rinse. After this always add in CaMg into every feed to help off set the continuous degradation of the coir and get min 10% run off. Coir likes to stay moist add in lots of perlite 30% ideally, don't let it dry out fully or it becomes hydrophobic.
Good Luck!
