don't buy: the ones that look like what i described, with or without the leather cover. looks like there may be knockoffs of terrabloom and ac infinity judging shape of the fans. the ipower fan linked below is utter trash. ipower, vivosun, vivohome, active air, any no-name brand on amazon.. these are all shit ass fans.

Extending line so your fan is in a different room. Although adding line will add pressure and your fan may not be able to pull that much and keep up. Also buying a silencer is a option, ac infinity sells one. The fan shouldn't be any louder then a window ac unit. If it Is then is faulty and I would contact customer support for a replacement. Also hanging the fan from straps or rubber so it won't vibrate as much. If buying a silencer isn't a option you can build one out of wood and add foam incerts to dampen the sound. It's relatively inexpensive although it takes time and effort. Sometimes buying one is cheap depending in materials you build with. If all else fails buying a new one is your only other option. Goodluck, I find it soothing and helps me to sleep, although I've always needing noise to sleep. Please consider selecting me as the answer so I can be entered for a chance to win grower of the month contest I would really appreciate your support growmie 🙏 😃

The only thing you can do is extend the duct work to a spot it won't be loud enough to bother you. All inline fans will make some noise. Or sleep while your plants sleep, and leave tent open.

If your exhaust fan is excessively loud, there are a few solutions you can explore to mitigate the noise without having to purchase a new one: Install a Silencer: Consider adding a silencer or muffler to your exhaust fan. These are designed to reduce noise significantly. Check for Vibrations: Ensure that the fan is securely mounted, and there are no loose or vibrating parts. Sometimes, securing components can minimize vibrations and noise. Use Acoustic Insulation: Apply acoustic or soundproofing materials around the fan and in the ducting to absorb sound. This can include foam panels or other sound-absorbing materials. Reduce Fan Speed: If your fan has adjustable speed settings, try running it at a lower speed. Lower speeds often result in less noise. Install a Variable Speed Controller: If your fan doesn't have speed settings, you can install a variable speed controller to have more control over the noise level. I hope you find a solution that works for you! Good luck & happy growing🍀

squeaking/squealing? shitty exhaust fans have bad ball bearings. go with terrabloom or ac infinity (puked in my mouth) and there's other brands with high quality fans too... "EC" motor for 0-100 or 10-100% power control is important. buy larger than you need so you can run them at 50% power or less. This will cut down on decibels. Any inline fan running 80-100% will be loud. best tip -- don't grow in your bedroom. shit's gonna get hot, lol. it can mess with your sleep schedule too if the light is visible at all. hopefully you bought that fan on amazon. try to return it and see if they just give you a credit... if you get a credit buy a different brand, lol. i returned 2 shit ass fans before i got a terrabloom fan and was happy. the first 2 were the leatherbound ones that looked nice on amazon, but within 3months they sound like nails dragging on a chalkboard. returned 4" for a 6" and then same thing within 3 months. they gave me a 'credit' and i found a different brand - got lucky.
