Hey Growmie, Some say they should be transplanted when it has outgrown their current container (or when entering the vegetative stage), meaning keep your babies in seedling containers until they've each developed at least three nodes.

I just go by their size as my guide, or my needs. You want enough roots that you soil holds together when you remove it from the pot. Then you can plant in any size pot you want. The danger then is over/under watering, until the plant really takes off.

Hey Growmie, for me, it’s when the plant has reach 5-6 nodes, typically 6-8 inches, with healthy branching and development. You don’t want that plant root to hit the bottom of the pot and start spiraling, you can let it go for a bit, but it will slow your growth. Generally week 3-4 for me. Good Luck!
