milky and amber are actually a sign of degredation and not peak potency. Just one more thing the peanut gallery gets wrong. it's more art than science on this stuff... you want some to be at that degredation stage so that the bulk is as potent as you can get it. i wouldn't be certain about any current recommendations until suitable research is done, but 10-70% amber is a good enough window to use. some strains barely show any amber right up to the day they die on the stem... so it's not 100% consistent. trichomes, pistils, density.. use all three observations to choose your harvest date. Try early-middle-late and see for yourself what is best for you. even brain chemistry variations will play a role. e.g. nyquil makes some people hyper while others fall into a coma within 10mins of taking it. same drug, different brain chemistry

You cant decide after how many days. You have to see the whole plant, to decide. Since all pistrils are already brown, in this case, it means that the end is near. 😜 Then you have to look even closer to the tricomes, if they are all milky, and some may be brownish or amber. This is the point, to cut it down.

She's ready........there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to trichome color that is 100% reliable for 100% of cannabis strains. I have had strains that produce 70% amber trichomes from about the third week of flowering, to other strains that have barely any amber, 5-10% max, after 10 weeks of flowering.........it all comes down to genetics. Once you have 100% brown pistils, the plant is getting closer to death, so don't wait too long until harvest.
