Should I be looking at more defoliation on my plants? I am ending the first week of flower and already they seem crazy bushy. I know its not recommended in flower but I feel like I have a lot of fan leaves that may be in the way of bud sites. Let me know if you need more pics.

Actually, it is ok to defol during the flower stage. I generally do a major defol during the last week of veg and then another major defol at the end of the third week of flower. After that, I selectively defol throughout the flower stage as needed when leaves are covering buds and preventing them from getting enough light. When I defol. I am usually only taking the large fan leaves that are sticking up and over bud sites that will need lots of light. If you can tuck the leaves down around the buds, that works too, but I prefer to just trim them off since plenty of leaves will be growing back. I hope this helps!

Sounds to me like a great opportunity for a defoliation experiment in your grow. I would recommend trying different techniques on each plant and documenting your results. This way you will have actual results to consider and you will gain the confidence to manipulate your plants however you desire in future grows.

you can defoliate as it is in the beginning of flowering it will not affect some cases are really necessary you can take the biggest leaves "of five oldest and largest vega leaves focusing on taking only those that prevent light from penetrating the canopy and the" future glues remove those from the bottom where the light will not reach, it will go slowly, without exaggeration will have positive results in the appearance of more shoots the plant will take more energy in shoots than leaves.
