What is guttation or xylem sap in cannabis?
Guttation in cannabis occurs when the plants exude droplets of xylem sap, a phenomenon that often happens during the night. These droplets appear on the buds or leaves and resemble cannabis resin. Unfortunately for dabbing enthusiasts, xylem sap is primarily composed of sugars and minerals and is not psychoactive.
Guttation occurs in many different types of plants, herbs, and fungi and should not be confused with dew, which is simply atmospheric water condensed that can also form droplets on plants.
