White patch in rootball of harvested plant

starke
starkestarted grow question 5 years ago
I just harvested this plant and after looking at her rootball, I saw a white patch close to the stem (see pics), does anybody have any idea, what that might be? Also, does anyone have experience with checking soil after harvest and "learning" anything from it? Thank you <3!

I always check my root structure at the end and do a sort of evaluation. Iv'e learned from hydro grows that It simply can not grow if the roots can't grow the they want too :). It could be salt... It could be just a harmless bacteria that happened to thrive for a bit your soil. Your harvest looks great :), Your wedding cake turned out way better then mine I blame the poor quality led light I was using.

If its not obviously bacterial mould (which is quite common in organic grows especially) then it will be a buildup of salts. Curious to where it was in the pot, I'm guessing either at the bottom of the pot or right at the top perhaps?

Maybe salt residues from watering over time? It got deposited there perhaps, like salts end up deposited around the neck of your nute bottles
