Why defoliate at all? If the plant would not need those leaves, it would not grow them in the first place! No need to do it "just because everyone else is doing it"........they are allowed to be wrong. Avoid defoliation at all cost would be my advice. All of the plants energy to grow and thrive is made in/by the leaves. Less leaves = less energy being made = less potential growth.

I am not a fan of defoliating unless absolutely needed ie when the leaves are stopping adequate amounts of light and airflow to reach the buds the reason I don't like unneeded defol is because every leaf is a source of energy for the plant and removing too many will effect growth and possible yield potentials

These plants are not great for scroggin for a fast results. They have very large indica leaves and short. Also they have too small sets of nodes and u will not have enough veg time to do a proper scrog mate U need 8-10 veg weeks been able to bring the node towards the net and then bend said nodes across 2-3 squares of a net. Been more indica the net needs 75-80% been filled with nodes with shoots. I see big leaves. Been honest mate. Remove the net as when autos go into their stretch and not been topped. They'll stretch so much that you'll have large nodes popping up as autos are very hard to manage the nodes growth by taking or leaving a leaf. Wit autos u don't have this luxury and tbh not scrog recommended. Maybe if topped early and even then a 1st scrog attemp is hard with fems. With untapped autos that haven't stretched you gonna have so much below your nets that will be trapped below the main tops without been able to rotate your pots with a set scrog. Just my experience wit autos. You'll get SOOOOO much more taking them off. Let them do their thing grow big mail colas and this will lessen the the risk of having a few big tops and everything below the nets (which will be a lot pal) that'll be larfy/airy and wanting light you won't be able to give as you won't have the time to get nodes where they're needed to make a top bud loaded canopy just imo.

Don't worry by now to defoliate. Right now it is to early due to the fact that you colas are emerging from the SCROG net. In a couple of days when that canopies are already define, start to remove some fan leafs that you find on the lower areas of your grow, trying that the leafs that you remove allow you to get light penetration and allow as well a good air flow in the line of the atmosphere with the soil. So do not get fast to start to defoliate. If yo start to see on the base of the grow that little leafs attached on the cauls remove it...but probably isn't time yet of defoliation. Pay attention if it is a auto grow, do not trimm the canopies tops, ok?

things that overlap and physical rest on each other that creates standing liquid moisture is a good idea to prune. Have a good reason.. don't just remove leaves blindly, and you'll be fine. I try to be systematic.. i'll remove the inward fcing top leaf after it starts bunching up on things, for example... or maybe alternate one removed one remains as i go around the plant... just maintain a full canopy. photosynthesis is the primary thing to worry about at all times. Don't hinder it. Don't reduce it.
