What is this bacteria? You can see at the end of the plant, the water is retained like in a bubble, it becomes viscous and the plant ends up dying as it's not able to drink I'm doing clones in hidro, changing water 1 time per week. How to prevent it and how to cure attacked ones?

Hello. This is Pythium Root Rot Fungus. It's spores are everywhere. The spores are small and are in tap water. Chlorine doesn't kill the spores. Boiled water is safe too, but check the ph before you use it. I use filtered water. If you use nutrients with your water they need to be spore free too. Use Hydrogen Peroxide to help clean the water. Cinnamon also has anti fungal property's. You'll need to clean everything with bleach before you try again. Hope these tips help. Chuck.

I never had much success doing a kratky(passive hydro) style of cloning. I usually made a slimy mess mire often than roots. Light and algae growth are often the enemy here. I have better luck in some sort of puck personally. They make inorganic ones if you're wanting to run hydro.

Is that using an old tall can of beer??? The water can not be stagnant for that long. it needs aeration. If making clones change it every other day. If you plan on doing something like DWC it need a bubblier or something to mix O2 into the rootzone. Good Luck!

Hello, 100% a kind of root rot. To prevent root rot: Look for light leaks - those bacteria love light an nutrient water perfect for them Watch your water temperature below 18C is too cold for your root above 25C then the bacteria start to thrive and multiply Check your airstones - they also like it if the water has not enough oxygen (if your water gets to warm it will contain less oxygen even with 100 air pumps) So check those 3 an ist should never comeback. Now here is the cure: You need something that kills the bacteria. I use hydroperoxide. You can put it directly into the water or you literally wash your roots with it an wash off the slime (wear gloves it's disgusting like pudding) Also you need to desinfect your container/bucket the next few times. (You could also use normal tap water with chlorine in your grow, that is what I do, chlorine kills the bacteria and your plants don't cear so you basically get a free desinfection and washing but that is up to you) But first light leaks, temperature and air stones or it will comeback every damn time. Hope this helps
