Water runs through the pot, bottom leafes turning yellow. We think we have an underwater problem and the soil got dried out, any suggestion how to turn it back?

What I've always done when dealing with dry soil, is water in slowly. Mist the top of the soil with a quick spray just enough to get it a little wet and less hydrophobic. Wait about 10-15 minutes then water lightly again. It should receive the water better. When soil becomes dry it tends to pull away from the edges of the container and shrink a little. When you slowly water it you help the soil to expand and fill those gaps, so it doesn't run out.

Hey, The yellowing of leaves from bottom to top indicates nitrogen deficiency. I had the same issue before. Let the soil dry slightly between waterings and consider adding a nitrogen-rich fertilizer to replenish nutrients. Remove yellowing leaves and monitor new growth closely. Best of luck with your plant!

Check your run off pH and EC, after you have numbers, post this question again.

If your previous grow question progressed likethis, that wasn't n-deficiency too, but just much later stages. Scale of adjustment should match rate at which it is progressing.

As far as underwatering, when you realizd the soil got too dry did you irrigate? if so, you fixe the "underwatering" problem. Looks like a nitrogen deficiency starting -- 99% certain. only leaving 1% in case some pertinent information was left out. the way you describe things makes me think you ahve bad watering habits too. water entire substrate and wait for top 1" to dry before repeating. Simple as that in soil. how much and how often you fertilize depends on too many factors to define specifically... the more concetrated you feed, the more water-only irrigations in between should occur. over time it should average out to the same mass of nutes added to the substrate each week or day or month doesn't matter what increment you base it on. More frequent fertigation with lower concentration will result in slightly better growth. without as much runoff f in soil, you do have to watch out for buidlup int he soil/plant and react appropriately if you do - i.e. lay off fertilization for a brief bit or even get some excess runoff to dilute substrate contents if it is a major problem ongoing.
