Light for seedlings

I prefer to run them under 24 hour light. You can get some little 6500k cfl daylight bulbs for really cheap at any hardware store. I use the 23 watt (100 watt equivalent) and the work great. Good luck with your grow!

18/6 is the general standard. Have seen some people do 24 hours on but havent tried it myself so I dont reccomend it personally. As for the windowsill as long as they will receive atleast 15 or 16 hours of light than it will work. They also dont need to be that powerful so any light really will work. I use the same bulb I use in my house for my seedlings and they love it. Can get really close with one of them. Short answer : reccomeded 18 hours. Anywhere it can get atleast 16 should be sufficient.

I started mine on 18/6 under 250w cfl Roughly 12cm away. I didn’t fancy risking mine on the window sill I’m also from the uk.

Want to soak for 24-48hrs. Will see the seeds crack. Place them in your medium (soil, rock wool, etc. ) leave them in warm dark room. Should pop up by day 4-5. Than can put them under 16 hrs but not strong light till you see a few sets of leaves. Then boost your light to 19-20 hrs
