Thinking of cutting the mimosa evo in half for bushier grow, to even out the canopy and to get an additional clone (experiment) thoughts? Shes currently roughly 25 cm tall (clone)

I usually top really early (in my grow right now on day 2 of Veg) and i think the earlier the better and easier. If i wait for a longer amount of time, and then top, i have sometimes problems with training because it will split the stem in half, but that never happened when i topped really, really early. Idk if just random or the plant grows better together when topped early, i don't know BUT i know your plants are angry! Magnesium chlorosis, purple stems. Too much/intense light and not enough magnesium for the plant to protect itself against it (thats why the stems turn purple, its like sun burn) You need to fix the nutrient problems first before trying to do a cutting or topping imo So long talk, just do it, why not? what you have to lose? Nothing really, good luck on it!

In general, 'they' say to top after it has ~6 nodes. It means you tend to cut off more substantial growth but avoid any risk of shocking the plant with too much damage relative to the whole. You are beyond this point, so the key would be to avoid cutting off more than 1/3rd of the plant. definitely an option. You should really work backward from an intended canopy size/shape otherwise you end up doing whimsical and random things tha tmay not help or even delay how long it should take to accomplish the task, whic means more money wasted on electricity and more of your time/effort requried. 3 colas per sq foot is a good target to maximize yield - also ensures you don't overcrowd the canopy. no reason to trim just to allow light penetration and decent airflow etc. how large is the space? how many colas you need divided by number of plants -- round that value to something that makes sense.. a fraction more or less than "3" colas per sq ft is no big deal. Symmetrical plants are asier to grow with the least amount of wasted resources/time. from there you can devise a plant of training and/or topping to reach that target canopy. Also takes the decision related to when to flip into an automatic no-brainer... when all the branches are well-positioned to grow vertically.

Hello mate, it's a good idea! I don't know if you might have a new plant from that but why don't try it. Good luck and happy journey with them!

I'm with AsNoriu on this one. Attend to the plant's health first. You have signs of CalMag deficiency on one plant. And (what seems to be) Nitrogen lockout on two other plants. That's the "claw" shape the leaves are taking. Attend to those, and you are set to take clones.

You could do it. I find clones taken from bottom cutting work best. top of plants not as well but can be done. Also increase your lights intensity or move it cloer. the spaceing between the nodes is a bit far. going to stretch to much and become weak.

Plant is sick, sort things first, then take cuttings from healthy bushy plant. Generally yes, i saw not one old growers preach about extra veg before toping, for having a cut instead of topping or fim. Aka having 7-8 nodes instead of average 5-6, before cut...
