Those white hairs sticking straight up (pistils) will be almost completely amber when you get closer, start checking the trichomes when your pistils are around 80% amber. You will need a microscope or jewelers loupe to see the trichomes properly. Make sure to look at the trichomes on the calyx and not the leaves, trichomes on leaves mature faster.
