Cloudy reservoir

Any ideas on what’s causing a ph spike and cloudy/milky nutrients?? Was all going fine until last night when the nutrients turned milky, slight white foam on top and PH went from 5.8 to 8.5. Slight smell like a fish tank. Plenty of h2o2 in the res - didn’t help.

I agree with green machine and that stuff about silica and hydro isn't completely true. Armor si and other silica additives use potassium silicate, which is fine for use in hydro. It needs to be separate and follow the nutrient companies recommendation, you add silica, then wait 15 minutes to add your other nutrients. Also, get all the hydroton and organic material out of your reservoir.. that's what all the bad bacteria feed on. I recommend using dark air lines, and if your res is that cloudy, you probably have a light leak as well good luck!

go back to basics after you have cleaned out the tank/s the simpler your nute regime the easier you will find your grow just use the flora micro /grow and bloom you dont need the others at all.

You have some kind of bad bacteria blooming like crazy in there. I would completely clean the reservoir with boiling water and wash the roots off with fresh water pretty well. Then mix up a fresh solution of nutrients using only the Flora trio. Cut out those other nutrients for the time being. pH to 6. Then get some frozen water bottles to alternate in the reservoir to keep the roots cool for the next few days at least. Also add 2tsp per gallon of 3% hydrogen peroxide to the nutrients. And make sure you are pumping a lot of oxygen to the reservoir. This should help the roots start recovering if they aren't damaged too bad.

We grow hydroponically and we never feel like the plants are weak or not strong.. When the buds get chunky support seems to be a requirement even with silicon feeding. So honestly the upside of the faster grow makes up for the inability to use silicon in our tanks.

Here's a bit more information for you.. I would not recommend silicon feedings in hydroponics because of this.. "SOUNDS GREAT – WHAT IS THE CATCH? Sadly, the one place silicon cannot be used to grow cannabis is when it is grown hydroponically. That is the reason that hydro-grown plants are a little weaker. The reason? In order for Silicon to stay soluble, it requires a pH higher than 7. As a result, it cannot be included in a normal hydroponic feed. It would interact negatively with the other elements and lead to nutrient deficiencies. The only kind of silicon you find in such feeds are an additive called Potassium Silicate.?"

hi dude ! i can't be sure but for me it's look like a chain reaction with your silicon nutes from the manufacturer " Aggressives are types of substance which can cause damage to skin and clothing and can cause burns. This group of products includes, but is not limited to: pH Up (potassium hydroxide), pH Down (nitric acid, phosphoric acid, citric acid), Liquid oxygen (hydrogen peroxide) and products containing liquid forms of silica/silicon. Always add straight to your reservoir water and mix well straight away. Do not mix aggressive substances with any other product while in their concentrated form. When using, always wear suitable protection (gloves, goggles etc.) and keep out of the reach of children at all times." hope this help ! good luck for ur grow dude 👊
