High humidity around 65–80% is good for seedlings, but the soil shouldn’t be too dry. You could water only a small area around or slightly to the side one side of the seedling rather than soaking the whole pot, so the roots are encouraged to grow outward while still having access to moisture.
If roots only grow towards dry areas Autopots wouldn't need socks. If it would be only towrds wet areas My roots wouldn't grow outside of my fabric pots
