Hello. I have a plant that has had leaf problems from germination. In my Gorilla Gelato diary, it's Plant #1. Is this Cryptic Virus?... or, if not... what is it? Please help me to figure out what going on with this plant. The sister looks normal

Hey Chucky324, it is highly unlikely to be a cryptic virus as those are actually quite rare. Looking at the twisted growth and the way the leaves are behaving compared to the sister plant, this looks much more like a genetic mutation or perhaps a slight pH fluctuation that started early on. Since the other plant is doing fine under the same conditions, it’s probably just a quirky phenotype. As long as she keeps growing and doesn't show signs of a spreading infection, I wouldn't worry too much and just let her do her thing. Happy Growing Growmie🌱

This looks more like a genetic mutation or early stress issue than a virus. Possible causes are unstable genetics, pH/root zone problems, or a micronutrient imbalance. Since the sister plant looks normal, it’s likely specific to this phenotype. Keep pH and watering stable, avoid overfeeding, and use light CalMag if using soft/RO water. If new growth improves over the next weeks, it should still grow fine.

hI Chucky....... Das ist kein kryptischer Virus sondern ein Cal-Mag Mangel....... Gebe einfach Cal Mag nach Düngeschema hinzu und dein Problem ist behoben...... Kein Grund zur Panik.....😎 Viel Glück

Hi I would rather think probably not a virus. generally Actual viruses usually render the plant completely sterile, with extremely fragile stems that break like glass and a complete loss of vigor within the first few days. Here your plant grows, produces nodes and develops roots. I would say more genetics Leaves growing crooked, twisted or with a rough texture are very common on some modern hybrid seeds especially if its sister is doing well. It is often a simple birth defect in the seed embryo. I hope this will help you. have a good evening and great cultures.

Its rare for home growers to encounter virus, more of a greenhouse problem from what I have read. but not 100% outside of the realms. When my leaves go funny like that I find it can be from some issues in the roots like bad bacteria/fungi or to wet. I had something like this on one plant ages ago. w/e microbe was in that pot made shit so acidic I was always battling weird PH and leaf issues. and it was the same medium/seeds and water source as the other plants. shit just got in there. I showed some pics to my grow guys at the shop and they suggest blasting it with a bunch of microbes to off set the bad ones and it helped a bit. now when I grow I always water in with microbes as seedlings to set em up to help fight off the bad ones. I'd still grow it out at this point. the leaves look funny but mostly still intact. curious if it will produce all the same in terms of buds. May want to watch it more closely in case of other weird genetic things like hermi. but likely just a bad seed.

Some seeds are just duds...............this is why I always advise not to grow "maybes". You have had problems since germination...............this should have been enough of a warning that "something is not quite right" with this one. I would suggest cutting your loses now and saving your sanity.

Not cryptic virus. Cryptic would show mottling, mosaic patterns, or severe necrosis. This is just genetic mutation or early stress creating deformed growth. The plant is green and growing despite the weird leaves. It’s a weak phenotype from the seed, not a disease. Keep it separate from sister plants just to be safe, but it’s not contagious. Let it finish and move on.

u had P deficiency but lately u fixed it so the real problem is Ca/Mg income these fucked up leaves and interval chlorosise give u a hint First check ur Ca ppm in tap water if it's 140+ and ur ferts also has some Ca then it's locking Mg 👈 if not which i doubt u just have Mg deficiency
