Most premixed soils will get you 3 to 8 weeks before needing to be fed. Lots of variables can affect how long until you have to feed such as if you are watering and have lots of runoff, you are flushing out nutrients and will need to feed sooner than later. When it comes to feeding, it's best to let the plant show a little sign of being hungry and gradually increase the feed vs just dumping in nutrients because the bottle/bag said too. Over feeding will cause more damage and much harder to correct. As far as nutrients go, I am a fan of dry nutrients as liquid nutrients are upto 95% water, and water is heavy, heavy things are expensive to ship. Look for a good organic bloom top dressing similar to nature pride bloom formula. More than likely you won't be feeding until it's close to bloom time. I would also pick up a little kelp meal as this will feed your micro herd and keep them happy which will keep your roots happy.
If you go the dry fertilizer route, its definitely worth picking up a little scale that can weigh out to .1 grams or .01 grams. Much more consistent vs using a teaspoon etc. 1 tsp usually = 5g and 1 tbsp = 15g.
If you go organic, make sure you pick up an inline water filter that removes chlorine and heavy metals. Usually about $20 on Amazon otherwise you will kill of a lot of your good microbes with plain chlorinated tap water.
