As long as you want really. As long as the stems are pliable you can bend and tie them down. It is advised not to in flower but as long as your careful. Some times you need to!

You can go all the way with tie downs or even invest time in scrogging! Works a treat

when they get the desired shape. But do not remove the ties as it will ruin all your efforts in a night
