Hello Diary. The first week of vegetation is over. The plants thrive nicely, look healthy and satisfied. 😀 Purple Punch # 1 grew 11 cm in the first week of vegetation while Purple Punch # 2 reached 7 cm. I remind you that I had to repeat the germination of another Purple Punch, so it’s lower. In addition to the nutrients that I mixed into the soil at planting, I started adding BioBizz’s Root-Juice. I regulate the humidity with a humidifier, so the humidity varies between 50% and 60%. With Purple Punch on the “Farm” there is also one Watermelon Auto that keeps them company. Let’s see what the first week looked like. 27/01/2021 - Day 1. Official first day of vegetation. 29/01/2021 - Day 3. Watering. I prepared 4 liters of water but each plant got about 1 liter. p.H. I regulated with Plagron’s Lemon Kick at 6.1 and added 4ml / lit Root-Juice from BioBizz. Temp / Humidity on the farm - 22.9 degrees and 50% humidity. 02/02/2021 - Day 7. Photographing and watering. After the photo shoot, I watered the plants, each getting about 1.5 lit. This time I didn't add any extras I just adjusted the p.H to 6.3. and the water temperature was 20.2 degrees. Caught the start of what looks like a nutrient deficiency. Gave the plant a good soaking with a cal-mag and microbial solution. Will start adding molasses to the mix this week.

My first seed didn't make it due to technical difficulties, so I popped another to try to maximize the output from the mini machine. She is growing well at day 7. Seeing some leaf curling from her adjusting to the environment, but she is still showing steady growth. She is a week behind the 2 plants that were originally germinated. She will be topped around day 10 or 12 as soon as the third node comes up enough to pinch off. I started this setup to compete in the solo cup challenge, but I needed something that will be minimal maintainence and doesn't require hand watering. So this is what I ended up with. I will not be entering since I know it will bring controversy, but I am going to follow the rules and treat this grow as if I am competing. I didn't want to use regular solo cups because last time I had a lot of algae growing in the root zone when I harvested. I opted to use a black light proof cup. These cups were 27 oz originally so I filled them with 16 oz of water, marked the level, then cut them down to 16 oz. I set the drain pipes about an inch from the bottom so they have a little reserve if I have pump or power issues. I know people will see the drains as a way for roots to grow out of the cup but in reality I have to keep the entire pipe free of roots or it will clog and overflow. So I am actually losing a little volume due to this. I filled the bottom inch or so of the cups with river gravel to stop the perlite from washing into the reservoir. I am running a 5 gallon reservoir with a small air pump and the plants will be getting irrigated 24 hours a day from an aquarium power head pump. I set the system up to be totally self contained and easily portable. It was all built from things I had laying around other than 97¢ for the cups. I will be keeping the feed simple as always feeding maxigro and maxibloom with a couple flower boosters.

Other two have caught up and overtaken the one I aggressively bent. All three have shown females thank god 🙏

Week 8, looking great. Really putting on some size now, soon to introduce some plant bends. Stay tuned

I went ahead and gave them a lil bit of voodoo just one watering with it. I am doing leaf tucking or leaf breading whenever I see possible. They all seem to like it especially #1 and #3.😊

Start of week 7 Day 51 was the hottest Day ever 😫

Start of week 4 of flowering. Week 3 went well, even with temps reaching 35°c in the closet. I've since added another fan to circulate more air, temps have dropped down to 31°c. Despite the heat stress, the plants are growing rather well and bud sites are developing nicely. Light defoliation again this feeding. Based on the heat issues, I need to upgrade my exhaust fan, 100 CFM isn't enough to get ride of the heat.

Another week down and we are definitely off to the races. The stretch is real...... As in holy crap these are racing toward the ceiling. Eleven inches in a week. Looks like I'm going to be adding something to the top area to help keep things stable once the bugs really start filling in. Not my favorite trait in a plant when they run like this. Well, this is why we pheno hunt right? I'll give the clones I took early on to a friend for an outdoor grow. Darn timelapse had an issue with the camera towards the end so it got a big wonky. All reset for the next week. Thinking of moving it close to a bud to see if we can just watch one of those form.
