🌿 RS11 "B" - Defensive Maneuvers & Defoliation! 🛡️✂️ Let's go! Welcome to Week 13 for RS11 "B". After the thrips battle inside the tent, we are taking absolutely zero chances out on the balcony. Proactive plant care is the theme for this week! 📈 The Details / Progress Report: Preventative Strike: I had to bring out the neem oil and give her a thorough preventative spray. I definitely do not want what happened to the indoor tent to happen out here! If you look closely at the fan leaves in photos you can actually see the fresh droplets and residue from the spray settling in to protect the foliage. 💦🌿 Opening Her Up: To go hand-in-hand with the pest prevention, I got in there and did some much-needed defoliation. She was getting incredibly thick and bushy, so taking off some of that extra foliage really helps open her up a bit. This drastically improves the airflow through her center and ensures the neem spray can actually penetrate the entire canopy. ✂️🌬️ Vibrant Health: She took the pruning and the spray perfectly. As you can see from the wide shots, the leaves are rocking that deep, rich green, and her structure is looking incredibly strong. She is looking super lush, happy, and completely unfazed by the haircut! 💧 Next Steps: With her canopy opened up and a protective layer of neem oil applied, we are in a fantastic spot. The main goal now is to just keep her well-fed, monitor the leaves to ensure no pests try to bypass our defenses, and let her keep building that massive frame in the summer sun. Actually, I only count the flowering days from the correct flowering, for the sake of simplicity I will count the days from the position :-). Flowering day 2 Today both were poured with 1 L each and checked for their health. Flowering day 3 Today the humidifier was filled and both plants were sprayed with Canna Cure. They were also checked for their health as they did every day. Flowering day 4 Today the whole tent was cleaned. Flowering day 5 The humidifier was filled again and the plants were sprayed. Flowering day 6 Today both were poured with 0.6 L and checked for health. Flowering day 7 End of the week 😄. Both were checked for health. Glad its over. Wont grow her again. Finishes to late for Ontario. Last girl was harvested early due to snowfall. Taste is pretty good. Potency is lacking for me. She will make some good hash though.

These ladies are doing their thang! One week since sprout. Had to move them to cups to support the stem as they were flopping. Placed a fan for circulation to try and get some strength in them. First feed at the end of week one. Went with half dose of the 1EC measurement as per Pro Line chart.

Constant LST on these girls. They are so leggy I'm worried that if I let up the canopies will get out of control. I feel like i'm doing a good job with it thought. The occasional super cropping is needed and I leaf tuck and even take leaves almost everyday. Doesn't seem to slow em' down. Lights are at about 75% now. Weather has calmed down so temperature in the tent is consistently below 80F. Happened just in time for mid-flower. Right before the weather changed I build an exhaust to vent everything outside so controlling the atmosphere is a lot easier and I think it shows. Switched to bloom nutes towards the end of this week. Miracle Berry Remix IMMEDIATELY perked up and stopping being droopy all the time. CDLC woke up and I'm really happy with her now. Phosphorous is really important once pre-flower begins. Getting impatient....gonna pop some Double Grapes for the Solo Cup competition. Lowering my PH to 5.5 - 5.7 to accomodate for any salt build up in the coir since they drink water so quickly. Their response was very good. CDLC loved the drop in PH the most I believe. I cut my veg nutrients (nitrogen) to half because they aren't in full flower but i'm giving them full doses of the Maxibloom and additives. I've learned that most chlorosis I am experiencing is a nutrient deficiency. PH and increasing PPM steadily is a MUST to be successful I believe. Potassium is what generally causes the "nutrient burn". You'll catch nitrogen toxicity before any chlorosis and phosphorous is really difficult to give your plant too much of. Especially in flower. I'm gettin' the hang of this.... If anyone could answer me this....Why would you use a feeding schedule when your plant is going to require different nutrients than any other plants? There are too many variable to use a feeding schedule correct? Really not much to see this week besides the plants bulking up. They are gorgeous...except for the CDLC...she's got some work to do. Day 49 - Watered with some whacked out PH water today...didn't catch it until it was too late. Mango Smile was dropping by the end of watering...hopefully I didn't stall anyone out. This was a quiet week. The girls were recovering from their topping but were also flipping into flower. They have been getting water every two days and that seems to be an issue so I bought an auto watering drip system to install next week. The one I was most excited for this run has done very poorly since getting topped. That's depressing since the girls buds are already purple. Wanted to see how she grows but really might have stunted this one. Only time will tell. I got there new drip system installed, I took a video of it finishing out 3 gallons to the 6. They are all very healthy and growing really fast. It has been hot but they are absolutely unphased. I just have to water just about every day. I'm letting them feed off the soil and only giving them enhancers. Hopefully I'm laying the foundation for a big harvest. I will be starting them on Sensi Bloom A and B at small dose soon. One of my White Widow XXL Autos died so that opened a spot for an extra IB. Shes just getting above ground and no issues to report.

Theyve recovered from the heavy defoliation last week. Think ill avoid further defoliation as ive only found mixed opinions of it. Day 31: trained them some more arnthey were sticking out the pot on one side. Tucked away some leaves as well. Day 34: added some coffeground to the soil and tucked away some more leaves. Tied down some more brancjes as well that were sticking way outside the pot. Im afraid the smaller one is stunted as it hasnt grown in weeks. It did sprout 2 days after the other one as i had buried the seed too deep.

As of day 21, the Blackberry plant is doing well! It is growing vigorously and will need to be controlled as it increases in size. The FIM has already helped a little, but I have started some LST with the Atlas plant trainer to start making the canopy wide and flat. A few of the newest leaves have the very start of yellowing in their tips, so I think this plant is maxing out at 1.1-1.2 EC. I am going to keep it around 1ec for the rest of vegitative growth, as EC can drift upwards in the reservoir very slightly while the airstone is running. Runoff, PH, and other parameters are right where I want them! I have a new gallon of Calimagic coming, so I am switching back to it this week in preparation for early flowering. Outside of removing a few low growth tips that will never develop, I am going to try to leave as many leaves as possible. If this maxes out my humidity I will start taking a few lower leaves, and those that are too tightly squeezes in the center of the plant. Considering the plant's size as of day 24, I am hoping the flowering stretch isn't too strong or I will have to really work to contain this plant! Day 25: earliest signs of flowering. Day 26: runoff quantities were edging towards being too low as the plant has more foliage to transpire through, so watering adjusted to 5x per day, 15 second intervals. This is an increase from 60 seconds per day of watering to 75, and should accommodate the needs of the plant as it continues to grow.

Really boring week, nothing changed, nothing exciting happened, just food and water. There's some really nice purples coming through the flower right now and I can make out the tell tale signs of the cookies on both phenos, they may not look the same but the smell coming of both plants is identical..
