She looks a lot better than three weeks ago least she’s back moving again with further growth I fed her 100ml of phd water due to a very light pot. I am still holding her in natural sunlight!

We are 1 week in and the second set of true leaves are beginning to grow, both are doing great and moving full steam ahead. Still watering about 20-30 mL of 200ppm CalMag RO water once daily and misting a couple times throughout the light cycle seems to be working great.

Wow these girls are looking great! Nice big naturally shaped canopies that are just bursting with buds. Speaking of which the buds are just beginning to swell up and produce trichomes this week, so they are for sure 1-2 weeks behind the other strains in the tent. But with the size the buds are already we could be looking at some chinky ladies in a few weeks. Have noticed that some areas of the root on the tray of the front plant are showing a bit of green. Looks like maybe algae, or something of the sorts. Will start mixing in some hydroclean to the res, helps flush roots and clean lines. Could just be to exposure to air as well, not that humidity between 53-55%. Back plant doesn't show any discolouration on the roots as far as I can tell, but it's pretty hard to get all the way back they so not 100% sure. Girls still getting 650-700 umol/s for 20 hours a day. Ran out of B52 and and the temp enhancer, so am supplementing with some nutrients I got in a bulk buy. Using Nutes Nutrients Microbooster. Seems to have many of the same benefits of B52 and Bud Candy, so far plants seem happy with it.

10 September Harvest - see pictures. While some growers leave the plant whole when they cut, I do not. It is a personal preference and situational convenience if your a home grower. I chose to cut large, long branches, and remove any whole water leaves, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the bud formation. I don’t trim yet. This is done for a few of reasons: 1) It’s my last good close-up look at her until another 5 days or more, 2) I don’t want wet leaves drying on my buds if I can help it, and 3) I occasionally like being able to shine a small LED flashlight on the flowers while its drying. Mold is our greatest problem as growers, it can destroy a beautiful grow right up until the end process. Then I hang it in a dark closet, provide circulation and ventilation. Light and heat, anything above 80 degrees F, will start a break down in cannabinoids during the dry, it is ideal to stay away from both. I’m fortunate that a humidity level of 50- 55% and temperature of 65-70 degrees F is fairly consistent and easy to maintain. Anything below 60 degree F will prevent the adequate drying out of chlorophyll. Almost all my flower routinely take 5-7 days, some a little longer, to properly dry out. 15 September Trim - see pictures. First you’ll notice the buds have shrunk up to half their original size. This is just a fact that we growers have to deal with. Due to evaporation without uptake of water, it takes about 3 days for the chlorophyll to dry up, then slowly go through a chemical change. Along with the leaves, cannabinoids also begin a chemical change after 3 days called decarboxylation. A slow process where the THC level increases while curing. You want the leaf to be dry so they can be hand trimmed easily, but you do not want that bud so dry that it starts to fall apart in your hand. Try to handle carefully by the main stem to avoid touching the bud all together. A lot of these cut leaves will be covered with trichomes, good for making oils, or other products, it’s an option worth looking into keeping it. After trimming, I do separate a few premium flowers for my first smoq. Then loosely fill wide mouth quart mason jars with about 1 oz/28 gr of product per jar. I seal the lids for a few hours to determine what relative humidity they are at, see hygrometer pic, before making a decision to put in a 62% humidity control pack of my choice or to wait, then place in secure in a cool dark place with stable humidity and temperature. It is very important to then observe/burp or exchange the air as needed, up to several times a day, until 62% rh is achieved. Once your close to to your mark, put in your desired RH level control terpene shield. If you have a problem getting there: 1) it has dried out too much, no real solution, try to put several large cut stems left over from harvest into the jars with the buds to try and increase humidty, 2) it has not dried out enough, in this case no problem, just remove and dry out a little more. This is also a personal choice, some people like it drier in the 50% plus range. Whatever you do, research and preserve. At that time burping is no longer required. Cannabis will reach its peak potency potential at about 40 or so days into the cure. The finished product should be a perfect grind when cured correctly without clogging up your grinder, this could take a month. Now that I’ve said that, I’m sure someone has grown something that they have not been able to grind. It can remain in this state for an easy 6 months with little change, locking in all the terpenes and potencies. All you need to do is occasionally check the product to ensure there are no molds. If your grow/harvest/cure techniques are good this should not be an issue. It would not be uncommon to find many cannabis strains will last, with small degradable change, for up to one year after being stored this way. Using an airtight glass container, controlled relative humidity, maintained low temperature, and kept in darkness will equal maximum shelf life. Always avoid direct sunlight and temperatures above 80 degrees F. The reasons I’ve ultimately chosen Deep Water Culture as a grow medium. Each has their own pros and cons indeed. I found the most efficient, less maintenance and ideal solution for my situation was DWC. Burdens to overcome depend on size up set-up; initial equipment cost, size of containers, ph monitors, air pumps, type of water to use-reverse osmosis, RO cost/set-up/maintenance, ways to transfer/change water and nutrients, what nutrients to use and schedules, takes several grows to learn and understand, a 1 year learning curv, easy to nutrient burn. The Benefits of growing in water; no dirt, no bugs, no diseases, rare nutrient deficiencies/toxicities, steady and rapid growth that enables the plant to reach its genetic potential. After harvest, there is about a 1 hour equipment cleanup, sterilization and turn around process before replanting. Cannabis will perform in so many different ways and mediums, no one way is the best and the best way is the one you are using, right. Chose what works for you in the long run. There will always be an initial cost in set-up. My advice if one were in need to cut corners, I would not recommend cheap lights. This single factor is the most critical, afford for the best. The notion that organic and water has a different taste, flavor and potency effect is absolutely debatable. The more we learn the better we grow and experience is always the best teacher. This is what works for me and my methods of growing in general from beginning to end. A BIG “Thank You” to everyone who stopped by to take a look. My next diary will start at the beginning of October 2023 with a Forbidden Runtz Auto. There will be minor differences during the grow. I enjoy Auto strains simply by what can be achieved in a short time. No matter the strain they will unveil one thing in common, the demand for attention. Many times over it is the anecdotal gardener that surmount plant scientist. Last should I mention, do not forget to stop and enjoy the fruits of your labour...

🗓️ Day 78 – Embracing the Power of Nature Another week has passed in this beautiful outdoor grow journey. The plant continues to surprise me with its strength and resilience. This past week brought intense sunlight and scorching heat, but no changes were made to the technique – I still rely entirely on nature’s rhythm. No additives, no boosters – just clean tap water and occasional Plagron Bat Guano top-dressings every 10 days. 🌿 Growth & Structure After recovering from the strong winds and heavy rain earlier this month, the plant has bounced back stronger than ever. The main cola is stretching tall and proud, and the side branches are developing nicely with consistent flower formation. 🔎 Health Observation The leaves remain lush green with no signs of deficiency or stress. The overall structure is symmetrical, with good internodal spacing and healthy development. Some light purple tint appears in the petioles – likely a natural trait under current temperature fluctuations. 💡 Minimalist Approach This grow has been intentionally simple – an experiment to see how far genetics and nature alone can take a plant. The result so far is impressive, especially for a FastBuds autoflower grown without any synthetic nutrients or intensive care. 🌸 Flowering Stage The plant is now in full flowering mode. Bud sites are clearly swelling, and trichome production has started. With a bit of patience and consistent care, we’re on track for a natural and aromatic harvest. 🌱 Soil & Feeding • Organic super soil mix • Occasional Plagron Bat Guano (every 10 days) • Tap water only – manually aerated before use No bottled nutrients. 📷 See photos for close-up bud development and overall plant structure. The FastBuds 20:1 CBD strain is proving to be a great outdoor choice – vigorous, hardy, and perfectly suited for low-maintenance growers.

With 33 grams on such a small plant I can't complain. I was amazed on the many hours (3) to clean the buds before curring. Several buds had rotten places because of the yellow leaves, they died and caused this problem Luckily I stopped in time and dived a little bit earlier in harvesting here highness.

🌿 Amnesia Skunk Auto — Week 10 From Seed (Week 6 Flower) 🔄 Quick Recap — How We Got Here For anyone just joining us, welcome 🤝 This run has been 12/12 from seed, building structure early and transitioning naturally into flower without interruption. What we are seeing now is the result of consistency over intervention — letting the plant express while guiding environment and inputs with intention. Last week marked an important moment: 👉 minimal intervention until now… 👉 and then, a necessary defoliation to rebalance the canopy We’re now entering a phase where the plant is no longer building — it’s refining, stacking, and expressing fully. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment — Dialed for Transpiration & Expression • Temperature: 26°C • Humidity: 60% • CO₂: ~1000 ppm This combination is not random — it’s intentional. At this stage, we are pushing leaf surface activity (leaf VPD / EPD balance) to keep: • stomata open • transpiration active • nutrient flow constant This is why these plants are drinking ~1.8L per day in 14.5L soil. 👉 That’s not just “thirsty” — that’s a fully active metabolic system. When a plant drinks like this: • roots are oxygenated • nutrients are moving • photosynthesis is running efficiently This is exactly what we want in mid-flower. ⸻ 💡 Light Strategy — Full Canopy Activation We are currently running: • Top lighting • Inner canopy lighting • Under-canopy lighting All LED. PPFD varies between 800–1500, depending on plant height. This variation is intentional. Taller tops receive higher intensity, while lower zones are supported from within and below — ensuring: • no dead zones • active lower bud sites • balanced energy distribution 👉 The result: the entire plant is working, not just the top Airflow across all layers keeps: • heat pockets controlled • humidity consistent • gas exchange efficient The room is not just lit — it’s breathing. ⸻ 🌿 Structure & Canopy — Controlled Chaos These girls are… big. Not plants — bushes. Dense, wide, expressive. Until now, we kept a low-touch approach. But this week, it was time. ✂️ Defoliation We removed a significant amount of foliage. Some will say: • too much others: • not enough I say: necessary. What we targeted: • blocked light paths • restricted airflow zones • overlapping leaves with no functional contribution What we kept: • active fans driving transpiration • structurally important leaves • balanced energy zones 👉 The goal was not to strip — it was to open the plant. ⸻ ⚠️ Observations — Minor LED Stress During defoliation, we noticed: • minor bruising / light stress on some branches Nothing major, but worth noting. Likely cause: • proximity to high PPFD zones At this stage: • plants are more resilient • but also more demanding We’ll monitor closely, but no current signs of impact on flower development. ⸻ ❄️ Frost Development — Outstanding Trichome production is already impressive for this stage. Why this is happening: • High metabolic activity (drinking + transpiration) • Strong, stable environment • Balanced nutrition • Full light exposure across the plant 👉 Trichomes are not just genetics — they are a response to environment + energy availability What this means: • strong resin potential • terpene development on track • good signs for final quality ⸻ Nutrition — Feeding the Engine Current feed (~EC 2.0 / pH 6.5): • Terra Bloom → Core flowering nutrition (PK-driven development) • Green Sensation → Flower density + metabolic boost • Sugar Royal → Carbon allocation + terpene precursor support • Pure Zym → Root zone enzyme activity, breaking down dead matter • Power Roots → Continued root stimulation (yes, even now — keep the engine alive) • CalMag Pro → Buffering + stability under LED intensity ⚖️ pH Control • Down: Lemon Kick • Up: pH Plus 👉 All inputs aligned and consistent — no chaos in the root zone. Why this matters now: At this stage: • plant demand is high • transport systems must stay clean • energy must be directed to flowers This feeding strategy supports: • uptake efficiency • terpene expression • structural flower development ⸻ 🌬️ Airflow & Room Dynamics With this level of density, airflow becomes non-negotiable. We are maintaining: • constant air movement through canopy • no stagnant zones • balanced humidity across layers This was one of the main reasons for defoliation. 👉 Light feeds the plant 👉 Air keeps it alive ⸻ 👃 Aroma — Loud Already For this stage… these girls are loud. This early terpene expression usually indicates: • strong genetic potential • healthy metabolic state • proper environmental conditions ⸻ 🔮 What to Expect (Week 7 Flower) We are entering the phase of: • bud stacking • density increase • trichome expansion What to expect: • visible swelling of bud sites • increased resin coverage • stronger aromas What not to expect: • explosive vertical growth (stretch is mostly done) • major structural changes Now it’s about refinement, not expansion. ⸻ 🤝 Final Words — Gratitude To everyone here: • the OGs • the new growers • the silent watchers • the commenters • the skeptics • the supporters • the ones showing love here • and the ones talking with us across platforms Thank you. To GrowDiaries — for giving us this space. To the community — for keeping it alive. To the genetics — for the expression. To the LEDs & tools — for enabling precision. Photography is part of the story — it’s how we share the fine textures, the glow, and the quiet details that words can’t always capture. I’ve also started experimenting with photo stacking — a technique where multiple images, each taken at a slightly different focus point, are layered together to create one perfectly sharp image from front to back. It’s not digital enhancement or AI; it’s pure photography — a way to reveal the plant’s beauty in microscopic depth, from trichome to petal. You’ll even see a few shots of "ghost me" capturing the shots — camera, lens, setup — because every grow deserves not just to be cultivated, but documented like art. So a whole lot has happened in the last 2 weeks. My main goal has been setting up for season 3 outdoors in my new garden where I will test my theory. I went a little hard on the plant ferment I made and have been feeding because the Whiskey Zulu and the Girl Crush because have a few spots on some leaves so I guess they might've briefly locked up a little. No problem with the Ogreberry though. The Whiskey Zulu smells like purp—like GDP, the Ogreberry smells like fruitloops with some funk and a little like Northern Lights. The Girl crush smells like a sweet diesel og—and I've just switched her over to 12/12 not long ago. For season 3: I've ordered seeds from DDA who owns Boneyard Seeds Norcal on Dagga.garden please check him out before it's 2 late. Please checkout his fantastic selection of cultivars. He goes by Mr. Toad on youtube if you have any questions. The man is a fantastic breeder and educator. [With my order of Roberts Creek Congo × Space Cheese seeds he sent 10 free The Ghost of Toadally Haze and 7 of a cbd/cbg strain for breeding called Holy Ogre. In the package was also brown rice ocb papers, a soil inoculent, boveda packs, terploc curing bag, stickers, and arugula seeds.] I met DDA through a future cannabis project live, he was in he comments spreading killer knowledge and I asked him a few questions about my ideas and he educated me for a long ass time simply because he's all about it. That's a breeder whose genetics I want in my garden, (and then he sent me all the freebies without even knowing me.) The man will have my buisness for as long as he's selling seeds because he values education and fosting the next generation of growers. He gave me some tips about rooting clones and now I've rooted my 1st clone for this next season. I think the temperature wasnt consistent enough before... I've started 3 Roberts Creek Congo × Space Cheese and they all popped within 14 hours with a 100% success rate. DDA — look him up.
