The Watermelon Candy cultivars are flourishing with an undeniable zest, their foliar tapestry thick with the potential of what's to come. Plant #1 is maintaining its lead with a striking bud formation, clearly thriving in the consistent environment of the Tent-X system. Despite being under a 12/12 light cycle along with the photoperiod plants, which may limit their yield compared to a 20/4 cycle, these plants are putting on a splendid show. Week3! moving out of early veg and into big boi weeks. Probably within the next week or so we will be doing our first topping. 6+ growth terminals will be my metric and I will be taking the best 4 and running 4 mains per plant. I also decided to edge up the nutrients, they look like they responded to the boost last week so Ill see if I can run them off of the Vanilla chart from TPS 10+ week extended chart. I usually run the nutrients at 70% strength A/B so we will see if we can push more in the late veg area. Also To deal with the possibility of future Root Gnat issues before I Transplanted the seedlings into 7 gal containers, I made sure i ran boiling water through my premade soil mix before hand. that way if there was any larvae in the soil it killed them off beforehand. I did replace soil microbes that I ended up killing off as well by adding in recharge after the fact when the soil cooled down a bit, even if the micro-bio stuff in the soil was not compromised I made sure to have a backup plan. I will also be spraying the ladies with Crop Defender 3 soon for mildew and spider mite prevention. CD3 is compleately organic pesticide/fungicide which is OMRI listed.

She is getting to her ripening stage so in it longer feed her any nitrogen just keeping it organic with wood ashes, molasses and Bat Guano…her smell is amazing.

Instead of pictures showing a dying lady: A timelapse video of their whole life. Had lady #2 run under continuous light for the last days. Probably went one day too far, which caused her buds to become somewhat fluffy too, but full of resin as well.

Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil. My gorilla cookies from fast buds is really starting to fill in now the buds are getting nice and large. Also the buds have really really pretty tricombs there super white and just pretty. The plant has a super strong smell a carbon filter is a must with this one for sure. Even with one plant it’s to much for my carbon filter you can smell it thru the hz. This plant has a very high potential for making extracts

The plan is simple... let her grow inside under a 19/5 light schedule until the nighttime temperatures are in the mid 50's℉, which shouldn't be long. After which, she'll be moved outside and transplanted into the soil which I have already setup and inoculated with beneficial microbes from BioTabs and slow release dry amendments from Gaia Green. Once she's established herself outside she'll be given periodic top dressings of Gaia Green 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 along with worm castings and Compost Tea's. Her grow area is approx. 5'x5' and I have posts and a trellis net set up already for when she gets bigger to aid in training her. Our weather is beautiful now with daytime high temp's in the 80's F without a lot of rain so I am watering her daily at sundown with approximately 5-7g of well water. 6/18- I gave the Papaya Sherbet photoperiod a good watering today at sundown via the garden hose with straight well water. 6/20- I watered today and also did a little canopy maintenance, removing some leaves down low, along with some small shoots that would only sap energy better used elsewhere on the plant in the future. 6/22- Six weeks from seed and I have a sneaking suspicion that the FastBuds PApaya Sherbet photoperiod is getting ready to take off in a big way! Well,all i hve to Say is she Still growing well.😏😊😊 Well but there are some lil brown marks on a few leaves so i must hve overfeed her a bit,i'll do my research. ✌️✌️✌️

Day 63- Switched to plain ph’d water at the end of the week. Probably going to be 2 more in the upcoming week as they finish off. #1 is the tallest, and has some big buds, but are bit looser than the rest. #2 has gone beast mode, she is fattening and had hard dense nugs from top to bottom. #3 was a slow start but is quickly gaining on her sister’s. She has about 1 week longer than the rest, but is hard and dense, and is greasy! Did a big defoliation mostly to help ease the final trim when it comes, but to also allow for a little more trichome development as they finish up the remaining nutrients. It’s been a much cooler week so I have been gradually increasing the light intensity to get a final push for some weight and trichome production. Running at about 95% intensity at the moment with the tent hovering around 79-81 degrees freedom units. Checking trichomes daily with my 30x jewellers loupe, mostly cloudy now, with anlmost no amber popping up, just a few on the leaves. I’m watching my other strain as well, hoping the timing will be right for both to come down. I’m not in a rush, really want to maximize these buds, they are already very hard, and should be a good haul. Happy Gardening ❤️🌱🇨🇦😎💨
