Update day 14 flowering: These two ladies couldnt be different. the Orange Sherbet is tall at around 28inches with golf ball sized buds from bract to tip and the Cookie is petite with airy little buds and a small frame. She had had to have a boost up on a block to keep up now. I wont expect her to yield too much but as a Kush she may sneak up and surprise me. I am happy with the O.s as she is so happy and healthy , she is also beginning to smell a little now too UPDATE ######## The Cookie is no longer in this diary. i will grow her out but want this Orange Sherbet to be able to enter the comps here. she is a beauty and deserves the exposure. lol

Overall I enjoyed this grow and learned a lot about living soil. Going for a slow dry, trim, then at least a one month cure. Hopefully another six days and I’ll update with a dry yield. My next batch is already cooking but with 5 gallon pots. 03/25 - Day 7 Drying B & C are done drying and have been in jars for a day now with RH ~60%. Total 3oz from B & C. Total 1.5oz from A & D

Week 5-6

Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil. Growing full of buds . Going to be a stench plant i can already smell the oils . Getting too tall might have to backbud it. Great posture of a plant.

Just stopped grow nutrients for them all, they seem to have plenty of nitrogen going on in them , my bloom nutrients should be plenty to carry her out they rest of the way. Still only feed nutrients as needed , usually water a few times checking my run off ppm to let me know when and how much I can feed without it burning them outright. So far it's been working pretty well with thus tent. But she's growing great. Starting to get a nice sweet candy smell already off her. Should be a nice smell once she's going further into flower. I need to snap some photos tomorrow, didn't grab any today , gotta water them all Monday so plan to snap photos then. But into week 7 we go !!

Day 30 for this girl, shes doing pretty well. Very nice structure due to plant training early in veg, a little bit of HST to keep the height down. Shes smelling quiet a bit now but has undergone a lot of stress although she is not showing it. Growing daily and cant wait to see what this girl has to give me. Very happy with her overall growth. And the time to flip this Mama came and with it so did the defoliation one, she did fell amazing the canopy, i am supper, i mean supper happy with the way she is growing, how fast and vigorous, how green and full of leafs, i mean not now lol now she as almost no leafs since i took the most of them out lol but i believe they will be back is less than a week or so and that this lady will ask for a new Mass defoliation sooner than i think, lets see lol !!! Week 3 – Day 22 (VT22) RedPure#4 was transplanted into a 15L fabric pot this week and received 💧 2.5L of water. She’s showing the first signs of preflower 🌸 and is staying nice and compact – just as expected. Looks like she’s going to turn a beautiful purple 💜 soon! She reacted well to the transplant and shows no signs of stress. The overall light intensity (DLI) was reduced to 27 to keep stress low, but RedPure handled it like a champ 💪. 📅 Looking ahead: 🔹 Watering volume will increase to 4–5L depending on demand. 🔹 Root growth looks promising – they’ve started exploring the new pot. 🔹 Light LST will continue, and I might remove a few bigger leaves 🍃 if needed.

my dry and cure style is this: 4 days of hanging upside down to get water activity lower to around 0.6 in 50% humidity and 26 C temp (i know its a little high but we are in a hot summer right now and i cant get it lower even with air conditioner) and then after 4 days of drying i remove leaves and stalks, trim buds and move them to jar for the rest of their life :D . and in the first 4 days of curing i open the jar door and let hem get some fresh air in the jar for about 5 minutes and close the jar door again, after 4 days of curing like that buds are smokable but they will get better as they getting cured about 1 month. buds are one of the hardest as fucking rocks type of buds! very dense , compact , sticky , smelly , amazing at every aspect growing stage was 60 days and flowering stage was 70 days total (harvested tops at day 63th) the total weight of dry buds was : top buds 174 G + lower buds 55 G = 229 G my overview of strain with details: the seeds: unfortunately i only got 1 seed cracked out of 5 so i will not know how much this genetic can get different but at least i got the chance to grow once of this wonderful strain the plant : in every stage you can ensure that you are dealing with a high level plant , she will get big so you have to control her height LST and SCROG highly recommended , will grow very well with tick stalks and big fan leaves , has good resistance for stress and will respond very well to stress trainings , she really has gorilla power in herself , fresh buds on plant : buds are very compact and dense even from start , fresh blossoms smells like pineapple and mango , 2 different shades of sweet smells like you hold 2 junks of pineapple and mango in your hand and you smell them together, she is a trichome and resin factory , very very sticky , very oily , strong smell dried buds: very compact and dense , hard as rocks , has dark colors with purple hues inside it , it smells sweet smoke : very smooth and sweet like lollipop , pineapple , mango like , after 2 minutes it'll kick in and you'll get higher and higher with every breath , has a strange and especial high mind high mostly
