Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos
Week 16 Harvest
17 th April 2020
This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution.
I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity.
This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary.
I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds.
And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant
so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name.
Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own.
She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing.
She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a
pleasant mix of the two.
It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other
than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc.
The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos

Everything is looking good after the LST from last week, I said I was going to swap them into flower and I realized that I should wait another week or so as they will be going into a new home so to speak. Updates coming next week for that. Doesn't look like to many PH issues anymore or whatever was happening but the plants seem a bit happier now
June 1st
I Figured today would be a good day to do a bit of defoliation on these girls in order to get some more light down to the newer growth. I didn't take a ton off as you can see, but for the size of the plant I suppose it was a decent amount. I read somewhere that a general rule of thumb is only defoliate roughly 30% of the plant at most. I'm not to sure if it is true but I tried to stay within that general rule.
June 2nd,
I decided since I would have them in veg for at least a little while long I would top them again. After topping I gave them some water and nutrients. I know I said I would do straight water for the next one but I went for it anyways as it seems the flowering mixture may be giving it some deficiency's. So I gave them the recommended feeding for heavy veg growth. I gave about 3L to the bigger plant and around 2L to the smaller plant (as it was still a bit moist but it wasn't damp). My crappy soil tester was saying my soil was at around 8PH so I figured I would aim to feed around 6ph. With the small amount of runoff from the smaller plant I did A PH test and the PH seemed to be around the 4.5-5ph area. My liquid ph meter arrived broken so I am waiting for the new one, therefore I am using the general hydroponics liquid test kit. I presume my soil ph is lower then the water I have given seeing as it went from 6ph water to around 4.5. Next feeding I will aim to feed at 7PH. With the defoliation I just made sure that the tie downs were decently tight still and moved what I thought needed to be moved.

Not a ton to update on. I didn't get any pictures for these 2 days.
June 5th
Some obvious problems going on with the bigger plant. I am guessing it is the PH issue but I am still unsure. The one browned leaf I accidentally squished in the tie down while I was low stress training it so it got a bit damaged. Other then that the plants are growing decent. Im not sure why I didn't have more pictures for today but I mainly took problems of the problem areas.
June 6th
Not much going on still. They are still just hanging out not doing to much. It was a busy work week so pictures in general were a bit lazy. I will try to get more for the upcoming weeks. Big news for next week!

Una semana bastante tranquila. Ni bichos ni carencias preocupantes, todo en orden.
Así empezaba la semana si, no se veía nada hasta que .....
Y así se termina con todas mis ilusiones , visto lo visto no me arriesgo a perder mucho más y aun faltándoles bien bien 15-20 dias voy a cortar . Prefiero tricomas cristalinos y poca cantidad a tener que deshacerme de la mitad por la botritis.

wow diese Woche hat sich viel getan sind jetzt bei blütetag no 24 die Streckung liegt derzeit bei ca 500% hoffe sie ist bald zu ende hab noch maximal 10 cm Luft nach oben aber geile stabile Ladys :D

Watering the autos in solo cups at least once a day by now.
Merry Christmas to everyone by the way.
Unfortunately my mum has passed yesterday morning at 8:01am, her stage III cervical cancer became stage IV in just 2 months from october to december.
Heart is heavy & broken but at least she is resting now.
Negative Energy for me to feed on.

Surprisingly slow growth, but the colour on most of them looks healthy. Plant #4 might be a goner, it had problems getting out of the seed and nearly died the other day. It's likely just going to be a very weak plant. Keeping my fingers crossed though.
Update #1: After getting some helpful advice from Mark at Dinafem Seeds, I transplanted the three largest ones into 7 gal smart pots and placed them outside where they will stay. The remaining two will likely head outside either tonight or tomorrow depending on the weather (these are the smallest two, #2 and #4).
Update #2: As of June 2 (Day 13), all plants have been transplanted into 7 gal smart pots and will remain outside.

DAY 141 Above Dirt
💬SUNDAY 01.13.24 - So this is the update that I did not have time to do over the weekend, the girls are bouncing back from the hard time I put them through last week, and the flowers are starting to chunk up along with more foliage, however, there will be no more defoliation until we are close to completion, for now, its just water, and wait, allowing the Gaia Green to do its thing, the light is at 100% and the girls love it.

They're starting to get that sweet aroma this strain gives off, her aroma will be over powering my tent in full flower. Love it!
Pictures and info were taken on day 12 of flower.
I put 71cm tall because that's the average between the three girls.
CC 1: 78cm
CC 2: 68cm
CC 3: 68cm
CC 1 is killing it with the double main colas. 💪 💪 🤩
CC2 is my favorite. She's got a perfect shape, nice evenly distributed canopy. Took LST great.
For me that's the goal when I do LST.
CC3 doesn't fall behind in any way, she's looking great.
There's a bunch of new growth everywhere so after 21 days i'll be doing some pretty heavy selective defoliation.
Feeding 1,5L each, every other day. Will be increasing as they ask for more.
How do they ask for more?
When feeding if the soil is drier than normal I give a 150-200ml increment of water.
I do that until they stop feeding so much then i just maintain that amount.
I start reducing if it takes longer to dry.
That works good for me. The old finger in the dirt trick. 👍
Nothing like knowing exactly what your ladies need first hand.
They've got a lovely green lush color.
It's a delight growing this strain.
I'll have to get me some more seeds for next run because this is a strain that will always have a spot in my garden. 😍 😍

Hello Growmies! Welcome to Week 3 of flower of Stracciatella in a bucket!
this week the plant continued her stretching, received aggressive defoliation and finally showed sex! I'm hoping to see the beginning of buds soon.
I cleaned up her entire skirt, big leaves that were essentially just sucking up energy, small nodes that would never have grown to anything etc, when I do this I usually leave a few ugly big, energy sucking leaves, my reasoning behind this is if the plant struggles from a mobile deficiency, it will pull those nutrients its deficient from these bigger leaves, indicating me that there is a problem, without and before the sugar leaves getting hit. that's the theory anyway
aside from stretching I also messed up the light schedule a couple of times this week, at one point in the dark cycle the light came on for 20 minutes, and then last night I left the tent open during dark cycle for 6 hours, hopefully this won't cause the plant to reveg, or delay her flowering
I'll be keeping my eye out for any possible hermies.

Since my last grow i have a problem with powdery mildew... So on veg. i just spray Sulfur and worked fine... (the smell is terrible....)
now i am in flower and found the mildew again... i try a new mixture:
dry common horsetail
1 onion
1 garlic
cook that for around 1 hour.
Then i flux it 1:5 with water.
The smell is not so bad and just for 2 days. The leaf and flower not change color or smell.
Hopefully it works! i will spray that now every week.
Update:
Flower Day 20
I start with the Top dressing on all Plants. They start to frost.
The powdery mildew spreads :'( i dont know what else i can do?! i spray again!

This was the week I decided to take a look at my trichomes with about 2-3 weeks left why not see what’s in store for me. And what I saw was some pretty milky stuff with surprisingly some amber to me that just means I’m going to get some good thc levels I’m shooting for at least 22-25% thc wish me luck we are almost there final stretch

SO UPDATE GANG!!!!
So this week was another great week, increased the water amount to a solid Gallon per plant
watering every 2 days, going with only the Bloom and Sweetener now, other then that they are
looking really really healthy, super super glad i decided to go with this nutrient line, FOOOP!!!!!!
REALLY though if you haven't looked into them DONT SLEEP ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
