EC Drop, Early Water Swap & One-Handed SCROG Struggles Another week down in the HOMEbox and things are actually starting to roll along, despite my best efforts to complicate things. Here is how the last few days played out. From Sunday through the rest of the week, I only had to make a few minor adjustments to keep the pH between 5.6 and 5.8. Plus I almost forgot to switch the ph-downs. Canna has two options for that, one for veg and one for flower. Don’t know if it’s actually necessary at this stage, but since I already have both, I might as well use them as intended. On Tuesday, I noticed the EC value had dropped, which always means active nutrient uptake and that is a sight for sore eyes. By Wednesday, the EC had fallen from the initial 2.1 down to just under 1.9. Since there were only a few liters left in both buckets anyway, I moved the water change forward and filled each bucket with 15 liters of fresh 2.1 EC nutrient solution. I set the pH to 5.7 at this point and it has nearly been holding steady ever since, requiring only a few minor tweaks and nothing too dramatic. On Friday, I installed a ScrOG net to use the space inside the grow box a bit more efficiently. The distance from the canopy to the light is 40 cm, which is about 15.7 inches for my imperial friends, and running at 50% power puts the PPFD right at 700. If the stretch hits the way I expect it to, I will likely need to increase both the light distance and the power later on, but we will see how that goes since I really want to avoid temperature stress. By the way, did I mention how utterly miserable it is to install a SCROG net using only one hand? Today, I kept working on tucking and weaving the branches through the SCROG net to get everything properly laid out. Pre-flowers are still playing hide and seek with no signs visible just yet. Let us see what the coming week brings.

Cream Cookies was such a fun plant to grow. It germinated extremely fast, popping out of the peat pellet at ~3 days. It takes about two weeks from germination for the plant to really get its root system to the point that it can support explosive vegetative growth. Once you're at the explosive vegetative growth stage (Week 2-5) the plant absolutely shoots up and stretches to the moon. LST works wonders to expose lower bud sites and break symmetry of the plant. FIM can be used to stop main stalk vertical growth and transition the plant to build up its already present flowering nodes. At Week 5 preflowers become apparent. The plant then experiences a second stretch and subsequent explosive bud growth. From that point the plant doesn't grow vertically but instead horizontally. Curating its fan leaves and growing to be just an absolute beast. If your phenotype sticks around in veg for just a week longer, you'll see the plant just become a behemoth. Im still working on my technique but my goal for this grow was to triple my per plant yield compared to nay last grow and I did that! I had 1 plant going and the dry bud weight is 45gs. Im extremely happy because the buds are just beautiful. Im learning so much! Im hoping my third grow I can double my yield from this grow! My phone broke so ill update with photos of the buds when I can.

All photos are from the last day of week 3. This week we had some problems with the temperatures, not to mention the broken fan. We solved the problem by removing the power supply from the Lumatek ats 300w pro lamp and taking it outside the tent. Everything seems to be fine even if there are some yellowish leaves.

Well week 6 has started and 12-12 has 1 official day in the books! Short run with a couple of experiments, lol. We got some new seeds, autos. We got early miss and fucking incredible from crop kings and Zkittles, gelato, and wedding cake from ILGM plus a couple of Herer seeds from a friend. The wife is going to do the next run and I'm really excited about that...also nervous, lol. Well that's about it for now. Happy Growing Everyone ✌️❤️😁🍀🎶👽 EB

Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. Week 1 Dance Monkey Week 2 Gotye Week 3 AC/DC Week 4 INXS Week 5 Dire straits Week 6 Yothu yindi and Midnight oil Week 7 Divinyls Week 8 Was Request week where I asked growers to pick and because only 3 growers put in a request I decided to choose all three which were Kylie Minogue , Flume & Airbourne Week 9 Paul Kelly Week 10 Daddy Cool Week 11 Cold chisel Week 12 Jimmy Barnes Week 13 The Angels Week 14 Crowded House Hoodoo gurus Mental as Anything Week 15 Empire of the sun Big Pig , Silverchair , Peking duk Grinspoon , Hilltop hoods and the White stripes And Finally for the last lot of music videos I have chosen another multi list bonanza of Aussie Music with the artist/s name and Youtube link below. So in no particular order here are my last choices for this Diary its been a fun grow with a steep learning curve. John Williamson True Blue https://youtu.be/ceWKrsJX9N4 Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue Where the wild roses grow https://youtu.be/lDpnjE1LUvE John Farnham Your the Voice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbkOZTSvrHs Powderfinger Pick you up https://youtu.be/4Ha-dtNXTM8 Slim Dusty Pub with no beer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8E0aZ387M_I Men At Work Down Under https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfR9iY5y94s Icehouse Great southern land https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mkidP2OUCk Before I go I'd like to thank all of you who read & like my diary updateseach week you are all awesome!! This week has been such a gift! I have learned so much about proper care for a plant I had no idea how little I knew sitting down and observing these majestic trees produce such a potent flower has really humbled me. Premium cultivars strain has shown resilient and self sustaining easy to grow traits that it is hard to mess up. (Which I’ve done a few times lol) Notice the trichomes (I put the zoom lens on and got up in there so they could be better seen the bud itself is slathered in them ! This is going to be an amazing smoke! Also looking at the structure of the bud it’s self it has volume very full bodied bracts with pistils throughout It’s just an all-around beautiful thing to observe
