Sour Diesel — Our Strain Review First of all, before giving numbers or stars, I think it is important to be honest and fair with this review. This run was not fully her fault. Actually… most of the difficulties came from us and from the environment she had to deal with. Growing inside a shared room with multiple genetics always means compromises. Some plants adapt perfectly to the environment, others demand different conditions, different feeding rhythms, different intensity levels or simply a different type of attention. And our Sour Diesel definitely belonged to that second group. She was the “unhappy girl” of the room Sensitive, demanding and clearly not fully comfortable during several stages of the run. But despite all of that, she never fully gave up. She kept pushing, kept producing, kept stacking flowers and in the end still delivered beautiful old-school medicine packed with character and nostalgia. That alone says a lot about her resilience. So for this run, I am giving her: — 8/10 And honestly, I think this score says more good things than bad things. Why? Because even under imperfect conditions, shared space limitations and environmental stress, she still managed to produce quality flowers, beautiful terpene expression, strong effects and genuinely enjoyable medicine. That means there is definitely something special hidden inside this genetic. The reason I cannot give a higher score right now is simple: I do not think this run allowed her to show her full potential. And I want to be fair about that. This is one of those strains that deserves a second chance in a more dedicated environment before receiving a final verdict. Some genetics are easy crowd-pleasers that perform almost everywhere. Others need a little more understanding, dialing-in and adaptation to truly shine. I believe Sour Diesel belongs to that second category. In terms of resistance though? Respect where respect is due. Because despite everything she went through, she still finished the race. And that matters. Flavor-wise, she delivered exactly the kind of profile many old-school lovers search for: Sharp diesel. Skunky background. Earthy complexity. Nostalgic smoke. Classic cerebral effect. Very uplifting medicine. Very functional. Very social. Very creative. The kind of flower that makes you smile halfway through the session because it reminds you why you fell in love with cannabis in the first place. Would I grow her again? Absolutely. And honestly… I think she deserves it. Not because this run was perfect. But because I believe there is still much more hidden inside her waiting to be discovered

The final yield came in at a satisfying 80g of dried flower, which I’m definitely happy with for a first indoor run. The smell leans clearly into the classic diesel direction, combined with a pleasant fruity and lemony note. Overall, the aroma feels intense, slightly sour, and a bit sharper compared to the Mimosa x Orange Punch. The effect is very pleasant and well suited for daytime use. More clear-headed, motivating, and lightly energizing. Overall, a really enjoyable strain with a great diesel profile. Der Ertrag liegt bei zufriedenstellenden 80g trockenen Blüten, womit ich für den ersten Indoor-Run definitiv happy bin. Der Geruch geht klar in die klassische Diesel-Richtung, wird dabei aber von einer angenehm fruchtig-zitronigen Note begleitet. Insgesamt wirkt das Aroma intensiv, leicht sauer und etwas „kantiger“ als die Mimosa x Orange Punch. Die Wirkung empfinde ich als sehr angenehm und alltagstauglich. Eher klar im Kopf, motivierend und leicht aktivierend. Insgesamt eine wirklich angenehme Sorte mit schöner Diesel-Note. Würde ich definitiv nochmal growen :)

It’s as expected, like most other sour diesel I’ve had but with my own touch. I love it but it’s nothing too special in my opinion. Came out with a fair amount of frost and earthy/mintyfresh smell Family and friends really enjoy it for daytime activities but I rarely smoke it as it I’m more of an indica kind of guy and I grew it for my girlfriend not so much myself

Vom Geruch her sehr angenehm allerdings nicht sonderlich stark. Geschmacklich jedoch top, schön gasig-sauer und von der Wirkung her definitiv die beste Sorte von diesem grow.

The great and infamous Sour Diesel one of my favorites since I can remember. These plants have been fun to watch develop, one pheno is definitely how I would want these to grow, smell and look, hopefully the smoke is as well.

Love it I was hoping to get a nice pungent smelling diesel with a good kick and I’m glad I went for this Sour D grows well outside. Not many bugs and pretty much no bud lost to rot despite the sticky buds Great smoke, smooth and strong with a distinct taste. Pretty much all you can ask. Just under 9 oz in the end

The overall profile remained intact: pine, chem/fuel notes, and a citrusy nuance (still convinced it’s bergamot) all in place. Through a vape, the vapor is smooth, with a pronounced sour aftertaste. The effects, however, became noticeably stronger after curing. Right after a hit, it’s clear how heavy the vapor feels in the lungs—a good sign, I thought. While I’m not claiming 30% THC, there’s definitely around 20-25%. The high kicks in within 5 minutes, pulling you through a hyperspace of playful thoughts, ideas, and entertaining nonsense. Throughout the trip, I was in a great mood, feeling creative and curious, all while snacking (the munchies weren’t overwhelming, but everything just tasted better). Had a blast playing with my kid—completely immersed in the moment. About two hours in, I made the mistake of sitting on the couch, where I got stuck between the cushions for about 30 minutes. That’s when the high wraps you in a lazy blanket, gradually fading away. Overall, the experience lasts around 3.5-4 hours. No negative side effects—no dry mouth (just a bit), paranoia, or anxiety. You might feel a slight mental fog if smoked in the evening, but nothing critical.

Pretty disappointed after my first photoperiod grow due to the plants herming… I’ve been treading them as careful as possible giving the perfect environment etc. but still, they grew balls. Might have dried them for too long due to work - stress (11 days) and they kinda have 0 smell… not sure if curing will bring back some but I put them in grove bags and heat sealed them anyway. One of the sour diesel plants had a lot of seeds so imma use it for making infused coconut oil. 2 sour plants yielded around 380g dry. I am pretty sure I messed up something and that’s why I can’t really rate the strain… but they germinated super quick with a rate of 100% and the vegetative grow was super vigorous and healthy.

Stressed them to much, i think with lesser wrong doings on my side, it wouldnt become a hermaphrodite. Still the surviving Plant got 22 g and smell like it should :)

Great genetic, lovely flavour, citrus, lime, super frosty and tall plant. Definitely gonna grow again. I will post smoke update later and yield

Easy growing strain. Perfect for me as an beginner. A lot of trichomes, wonderful smell. Really potent!!

This was a really fun grow, the bud is REALLY strong. Almost greened out on the first hit. haha. Excellent flavor, excellent effects. Couch lock, very buttery high that makes you sleepy. Got about 10 O's in a closet.

The Sour Diesel is a strain I have been wanting to grow. It didn't disappoint, the buds are dense, sticky and smell like fuel with just a hint of citrus. The buds are still gassy and need more of a cure. Strong!

Oh man, what can I say. Sour Diesel will always have a designated shelf in my house. This strain is the most potent, delicious and sticky flower I have ever had. This strain is the reason im not so upset about my other plants. This girls is stinky af Smells like you walked in a small 10x10 room with about 20 ppl in there peeling oranges, follwed by that diesel fuel smell that almost takes your breath. This girl was full of surprises. She started out as the runt of them all the whole grow. Just a short little bushy plant. I always joked and called it a hedge. This girl had plans to be great and I could tell in wk 1 of flower. SHe shot up and demanded the light and was now taller than all other plants in the tent. This plant is one that I wish I had space for cloning because it was great. Hands down my favorite plant of the bunch so far and will grow it again.
