Added 10ml of Z9 pt 1 and pt 2 Need the new AC Infinity controller for night/day temps - the lights off is important to decrease water temp. Fogger needing to be filled daily if not more. MQ #3 - has two main roots weaving down through outer net pot. MQ #4 has 5 roots coming down in net pot cavity. Checked Rapid Rooter and its spongy and hydrated on top. Top fed each plant 125ml around outer pebbles. --------------------------------------- March 26 (Day 12) --------------------------------------- MQ #3 roots in water - One troot - weaved in and out of basket. Def looking taller and stronger than #4 MQ #4 many roots coming down center cavity of net pot - almost in water. Water Change! 2:30pm Not sure if Advanced nutrients feed chart for hydroponics constitutes week 1 as roots in the water but we’ll just feel it out. The waterfall feed line screen coming out of res was pretty gunky. Removed for now for better flow. Refill - 30ppm starting w/ 6.2 ph Added 60ml Sensigrow A = 320ppm Added 60 SensiGrow B - brought ppm up to 390ppm. Added 12ml of Orca Drained water to just above bulkhead so I have about a 2” gap now under basket. Cautious of burn on the young girls, I added a little RO water to dillute - brought down to 350ppm which is about double what last week was. Added 3ml of Orca additional after water level adjustment. *** I set the weekly grow values in the diary to the values at end of week. Summary: Week two went great in terms of growth. No stalling, once the roots were in the water, they doubled in size every day. Spent the week dialing up LED light each day and boosting nutrients accordingly. Didn't move net pots, just a peek in the bucket lid twice this week. All roots are white and healthy. MQ3 is shooting roots out of sides of net pot whereas MQ4 hasn't gotten to that point yet but both are doing great above and below the root zone. The reservoir smells healthy. Finished the week off with a 500PPM and these girls want more! Next week I'll make decisions on LST and topping. Still going to let it ride until water change with ph perfect. - Added 5ml of of SensiGrow A and B - PPM went from 450 to 500 after added nutrients. - Added 10ml of Orca - Water change tomorrow - was busy today so I added the Orca just as a safe measure with the PH consistently climbing, which I'm feeling is just plants feeding.

Summary: Overall growth ramped up this week. Plants are healthy, the system is healthy/. I took a peek at roots from the beginning of the week and end of the week and the difference is stark. MQ3 This week I took the opportunity to have some fun. I topped MQ3 plant and it took it like a champ. . It was growing nodes every 36 hours before and after the top. A bit of leaf tucking was needed for the new growth to get some light but I may top again or maybe mainline if she is ready for it by day 22. If not, I probably wouldn't consider it because she will be throwing her first pistils around day 30. MQ4 Working with stationary square buckets is a bit challenging. Added an LST anchor, and added the first tie on the top. The bottom anchor came loose but I didn't notice and now the stalk is growing at 45-degree angle. No worries, I'll just work with it, but the side shoots are already shooting for the sky, so I'll be doing lots of training this week on this one. Other than a small deficiency on MQ4 (possible ph swing from water change or calmag issue) was fixed very quickly and didn't slow them down at all. Overall, great week! --------------------------------------- April 3 (Day 20) --------------------------------------- Recalibrated Bluelab Guardian PH probe. Water change! Added 35L RO to flush for 1 hour then dumped elbow to res and drained and filled with about 50L. Added 75ml a+b sensigrow Added 12ml orca Added 8ml z9 *No B52 - just used small dose for toughening the main stalk before LST starts. Total values: Ppm 530 Ph 5.8 Water temp 64F About 54L after mixing and adding nutrients. --------------------------------------- April 4 (Day 21) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 69-71F (Night) Rh: 67% (Day) / 60% (Night) Water Temp: 67F-70F PH: 6.1 PPM: 530 / 600 Leaf Temp: 80f Ph went to 6.0 overnight Ppm didn't budge. Turned up led light to 24k lux. Added a second LST tie-down point to the top of mq4. She took well to the first one. Measured led from tallest plant mq3. Was 33inches, set to 31. Adjusted distance to t5 from the plant. Reset to 8inches after new growth. Plants are about 4 inches tall from the visor covering the net pot. 5th node popping now - (4th true node after the cotyledons and single set of leaves) Topped MQ3 above node 3 ( if you count the first set of single leaves after cotyledons with internode growth as a node which I do) - yup, I’m keeping it fun. --------------------------------------- April 5 (Day 22) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 69-71F (Night) Rh: 67% (Day) / 60% (Night) Water Temp: 67F-70F PH: 6.1 PPM: 530 / 600 Leaf Temp: 80f PPM bouncing between 520 and 530. PH rose to 6.1 overnight. Added 15ml ab today for total of 600ppm Ph stayed at 6.1 after nutrient boost. Added 10ml of Orca Added 10ml of z9 Turned led light up from 27k to 28k. Maxed now. Dropped led light from 32 to 30 inches. Mounted a 6" fan on the wall of the tent for better airflow between light and canopy now that I’ll begin to drop the light. Tightened LST top point on mq4 Defoliated mq3 under node two; Trimmed cotyledons and first node (single leaves). Peeked at mq3 roots, nice and white with a little nute stain --------------------------------------- April 6 (Day 23) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 69-71F (Night) Rh: 67% (Day) / 60% (Night) Water Temp: 67F-70F PH: 6.1 PPM: 600 / 590 Leaf Temp: 80f PPM dropped to 590 overnight. Dropped LED light from 30” to 28” 18-24 is recommended so now that it's 100%, it gets dropped 1-2 inches at a time until they tell me they have had enough. Removed first tie-down on MQ4. I want the top to grow a bit more and develop the next node before I tie it back down. Loosened the second tie on MQ4 so I’d get a bit more height from the bucket. Nothing else. Let them grow. PPM dropped to 580. ------------- So I take a peek later in day and as I’m zipping up the tent, I notice some minor spotting on mq4 bottom leaf. Bronze and tan - middle of the leaf. One leaf on mq4 is curling upwards but could be due to dropping the light 2 inches, but it's at 28” so I don’t think so. It is too early to diagnose but I want to catch it early, I don’t want it to affect the topped mq3 and slow it down, so I want to be on top of it. I haven’t given any calmag yet because SensiGrow coco A+B supposedly has added calmag, but I am using RO water. I gave a light dose 15ml of calmag - put ppm at 640 ppm - I didn’t want to push it too hard in case it was just pushing notes too far. If the issue continues when I check tomorrow afternoon, I’ll drain the system a bit and reduce the ppm back to 550ppm If that doesn’t help, then I’ll go for the potassium route. If thought it could be ph fluctuation from 6.7 to 5.8 on the water change, but that was 3 days ago and just showed up this afternoon. The topped MQ3 is growing, the branches at node three were pretty closed up this morning. Throughout the day, they’ve opened and the next node is showing now. To end the day, I forgot to kick the AC back on because I was interrupted and the water temp had gotten to 74f. Gave a double dose 20ml of Orca beneficials since I haven’t done that since I started up the system (but just gave normal yesterday) - should snap the system in check. --------------------------------------- April 7 (Day 24) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 69-71F (Night) Rh: 68% (Day) / 74% (Night) Water Temp: 67F-70F PH: 6.1 PPM: 650 / 780 Leaf Temp: 80f They looked great all day. No more spotting. Defoliated MQ3 for last time for now. The second node is totally gone now. Dropped LED to 26” from top of plant. Began LSTing the topped node branches. The next node that comes out will be topped. Day 19 today, plenty of time right? No clawing happened until I checked at about 11pm. I feel that they are hungry if that calmag may have fixed part of the issue last night (or it was ph swing) Added 20ml of a/b Added 10ml calmag Added 8ml of Z9 part 1 and part 2. After nutrients added, PPM went from 650 Total ppm 780 Humidity was very high during lights out due to transpiring and summer-like temps outside. RH was hitting Mid 70’s with lights and humidifier off because the humidity controller was set lower than the plants were transpiring and never met the value. I could bump up the heater but I need that cool-down period for the water temps to reset to 66f. It's time to switch to active intake. Adjusted programming in AC Infinity T8 controller to lower RH at night. Adjusted the LST on MQ3. Dropped LED light to 24” from top of plants. A bit of clawing late in the day on a few leaves, both plants. Minor. --------------------------------------- April 9 (Day 26) --------------------------------------- Tent: 77-79F (Day) / 68-70F (Night) Rh: 68% (Day) / 48% (Night) Water Temp: 68F-71F PH: 6.1/6.0 PPM: 780 / 780 Leaf Temp: 78f Plants looked healthy all day! Dropped LED light to 23” from top of plants. MQ3: Second nodes on the main top are out and the third is popping, just being patient for a bit more one of the stems on node 2 to grow so I don’t have any splitting issues at the joint later on. Will probably top tomorrow night. MQ4: Tightened top LST tie-down on MQ4. Loosened the bottom LST - anchor did not hold and now the base stalk is growing at a 45 angle so I’m going to keep the top tied down for now because the side shoots are getting higher than the top now. Plants are in one side of the bucket so I guess I’m going to try to train it over the backside of the bucket until the top hist end of the bucket then let it shoot for the sky. Training it from here on could be fun and different from a typical circle LST star pattern. Worry a bit about structural integrity later on. PPMs stayed around 780 with slight fluctuations so I’ll assume they are drinking water and nutes at a similar rate. PH dropped to 6.0 late in the day. Heater set to 79f (Day) / 75f (night) AC T8 Exhaust fan set to 3 w/ negative pressure for night exhaust to lower RH around 50% due to transpiration. Set to exhaust at 70% / 79F during the day since the heater fluctuates ambient from 75f-80f, it pulls fresh air every few minutes. Have some upgrades to do this weekend: (1) Exhaust fan whistling at high RPMs (2) mount active intake fan (3) water change w/ silicate, (3) top MQ3, (4) install up top off bucket for res now that they are drinking more, (5) Add 3M command clips and LST both plants I’m hoping to mount them to the lid so the plants can be movable for next weeks system scrub before they go into flowering but may have to redesign my net pot visor into the circle to make that work.

Weekly Summary: Everything was going great at start of week. Just after I topped MQ3 for second time on day 22, a sequence of events happened. Later in the day after topping MQ3, I rushed through a water change due to time constraints and I didn't notice the PH of the RO was abnormally high until I was flushing system. Then the next day came, and I split the main stalk on MQ3 tighten tie downs; gave it some first aid. Then the next day the signs of PH fluctuations from water change revealed on leaves, suspected nutrient lockout due to pushing ppms and water staying same level. To add to the situation, ph was dropping, not rising like previous weeks. MQ3 was more affected than MQ4. I corrected quickly by reducing ppms and didn't worry about the ph dropping from 5.8 to 5.2 because I'm using PH perfect and allegedly it has a safety net built in for ph range from 4 to 8 to allow plants to uptake as if it were 5.6. Plants recovered and thrived the rest of the week. Lots of time spent on LST on MQ4. MQ4 showed pistils early in week, MQ3 hasn't shown any signs of preflower yet, thankfully. --------------------------------------- April 10 (Day 27) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 68-70F (Night) Rh: 68% (Day) / 54% (Night) Water Temp: 67F-70F PH: 6.1/6.0 PPM: 780 / 900 Leaf Temp: 80f Started the morning by topping MQ3 for the last time. Cut above the first node on each branch at the 3rd node. Evening: Water change! Flushed with RO for 30 min. Was in a rush due to other commitments. RO PH was over 8.0 so I went ahead and refilled and dosed with nutrients - which is weird it was so high. * Will mix Silicate for next water change - didn't have time. 125ml a+b 20ml orca 20ml calmag 10ml z9 = 900ppm --------------------------------------- April 11 (Day 28) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 68-70F (Night) Rh: 68% (Day) / 54% (Night) Water Temp: 68F-71F PH: 5.7/5.6 PPM: 900/900 Leaf Temp: 80f LST on MQ3 for half of new bud sites. Will wait for others to grow out to train them. Heavy LST on MQ4. Thought I’d dig the 3m command clips on the buckets, but they come loose easy. I was hoping to avoid bolts in lids but I think i’m going to go that route next time - stainless eyehooks. MQ3 recovered quickly - already sprouting fresh growth at the four budsites. Stalks are getting thick now. Leaves on both plants got wrinkly and leather-like with minor spotting on lower, older leaves. I was in a hurry yesterday and didn't notice the 30 minute pure RO flush was a ph of 8.0 but last time it was a 6.7. If I do nothing and they recover on their own, I’ll expect it was the ph on the RO flush. I’m going to change the process for my water changes so they don’t get shocked. Raised light from 23” to 24” just in case because it’s the only change I've made to the environment in recent days. --------------------------------------- April 12 (Day 29) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 68-70F (Night) Rh: 68% (Day) / 54% (Night) Water Temp: 68F-71F PH: 5.6/5.6 PPM: 910/910 Leaf Temp: 79f Added LST to MQ3 for last two bud sites. Adjusted some LST on MQ4 When adjusting LST on MQ4, i’m spotting the first pistil on MQ4. Almost a week earlier than my last MQ. She’ll be stretching soon. No Pistils seen on MQ3 (thankful). I didn't think I put too much pressure, but apparently, I did. Stupid 3m command clips came loose again. #M command clips suck for buckets, don't use them ever again. Spread some honey on the wound. Patched it up with tape, and then used rubber bands to keep the stalk closed to heal. I’ve split stalks before, so I know it’ll bounce back. I just didn't need any more stress on her. --------------------------------------- April 14 (Day 31) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 68-70F (Night) Rh: 69% (Day) / 48% (Night) Water Temp: 66F-69F PH: 5.6/5.5 PPM: 590/580 Leaf Temp: 78f PH is down to 5.4 now. Last change it was consistency climbing. Probably roots zone driving it down now. Voted for a water change to reduce the PPM. I pushed them too hard thinking they were eating and drinking at same rate. This time, I did not flush with RO water, just mixed the nutrients in flexitank and pumped into system. 60ml of silica - mixed very well - let waterfall run in flexitank for about an hour. 110ml A+B 20ml of Orca 10ml of Z9 20ml of calmag Mixed all by hand very well with wooden spoon and a waterfall for several hours in the flexitank, stirring several times. Final Values: PH: 5.8 PPM: 500 Once in the system, PH went to 5.7 within a few hours, and PPM went to 590 from leftover nutrient residue. Planning on doing a pre-flower system scrub and flush soon. Just a bit of buildup on airstones and bottom of buckets but not too bad. --------------------------------------- April 15 (Day 32) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 68-70F (Night) Rh: 69% (Day) / 48% (Night) Water Temp: 66F-69F PH: 5.5/5.4 PPM: 580/570 Leaf Temp: 78f PH dropped to 5.4. PPM dropped from 580 to 570. LST and Defol on MQ4 PH dropping again. Down to 5.6 now and 5.5 in later part of the day. Lifted pots for the first time to have a better look at roots. Roots have exploded in the last two days but I’ve got some dark staining on the roots. I suspect nutrient stain. Roots smell like fresh greens. Crispy too. MQ3 is still a little stressed but it is growing and leaves are all perked up like they are on steroids late in the day. MQ4 is looking good and healthy. LST and Def 1-2 times a day. Will watch the PH. LST and defoliation on MQ4 Otherwise, let them grow. Added some rubberband tethers to MQ3 for a gentle approach. Only tied down one side for now. Need to be gentle while it heals but i need the structure in place before she stretches. It was a tough week for them, totally my fault. They are definitely showing they are back on track and they recovered quickly.

Weekly Summary: Great recovery, great growth, and plants starting their stretch. Plants are drinking, eating, and transpiring. Plants seem to like the 5.4 ph range. It may seem low, but again, the PH perfect tech used by Advanced is a mere safety net allowing the plant to uptake between ph 4 to 8 as if it were a ph of 5.6. Roots look great. I’ve seen a few people mention waterfall needing to be diverted because it soaks the air roots. I’m going to say the issue was likely nitrogen toxicity from pushing the ppms too hard along with my ph fluctuation on the water change. Plants are Back on track. MQ4 has a bunch of pre-flower pistils. I keep LSTING and defoliating and come back 8 hours later and its all filled in again. I couldnt imagine LSTing a bunch of plants. MQ3 popped its first pistil today. A bit concerned about next water change. the ph will be riding 5.8 when changed due to ph perfect. Could cause ph issue again. May flush at 5.6 for a few hours. Light defoliation. Definitely stretching - both plants noticeably taller today. Found time for water change if i do it today, wont have much spare time on weekend. I thought I was going to have to scrub the system but it looks pretty clean as is. Even cleaner than a few days ago. May just do a quick clean next water change, maybe switch out the air stones before I can’t get to them any longer. Roots are much larger, mostly white, smell like fresh spring greens. Root colour shifts to off white above the waterline. Still have that dark brown stain in roots n MQ3 but its not growing in size. I think its just poorly distributed nutrients. If I end up scrubbing system I’ll try and flush that spot out. I probably didn’t have to change the water after seeing the system emptied. Nutrient Solution: 100ml rhino skin silca - mixed well and let run via waterfall in flexitank for 1 hour. Contemplating add CMH for better foot print . At this point, If i’m going to add heat, it might as well be light. Removed rubber bands on MQ3 and replaced with soft ties. Still hate 3m command clips on these buckets. Some light defoliation on MQ4 to let some more bud sites get some light. Tightened down top of MQ4 so its lower than canopy while they stretch. Summary: Overall a great week six. The smell is starting and they are growing vigorously. Noticeable water levels dropping daily; I'm having to top off the res once or twice a day. PPM kept going down daily, I'd top up and it'd go down again signaling they want more. The goal was to get it steady - somewhere in 800 range by the week's end. Got the scrog net up and started weaving - I should have done last week. Switched out the heater for a spare dehumidifier and added a CMH light for supplemental heat and light - temp is way more stable and swings less. Struggled all week to find available time to defoliate and late scrog - one might think I was neglecting them. Ended up finding time on the last day of the week for a major defoliation session on both plants and even did a bit of super cropping to even out the canopy a little. Added some tees to the inside of the buckets for the waterfall. MQ3 is still stretching and MQ4 has stopped stretching. Will Lolipop the bud sites that didn't make the canopy on MQ4 in the coming days. After some research on Orca beneficial bacteria (looking at King Crab product), I read on their website I should: 1) Inoculate well before I add phosphorus (flowering nutrients) to minimize root issues in flower. 2) Apply directly to roots if possible. Did some weaving on scrog for both plants. Moved humidifier to front of tent because it was too close to leaves hanging over bucket on daily wilt before lights out on MQ4 - potentially causing PM. Temps outdoors are warming and I’m done needing heater with the CMH in tent. Remove infrared heater from tent. Fan that was sitting on infrared heater needs to be mounted in a better location now that heater is removed. Added dehumidifier to inkbird humidity controller to keep humidity under 70% from transpiration and will use the heat it produces for lights off. Temperature is so much more stable with CMH sitting at 81F almost all of the time, water temps under 70 by end of day. With LED only, i’m getting temperature swings. Moved CMH closer horizontally add additional supplemental coverage - easing it in so they don’t stress. Undecided if i want to tilt for dual spectrum both plants or just LED on one and CHM on the other. PPMs dropped to 620 throughout day. Mixed 20ml of Sensi Grow A+B in 2L water. Poured 2/3 in res - PPM settled to 700. PPM dropped from 700 to 680. Poured rest of nutrient mix in, bringing PPM to 720 Not much time today but managed to do a few minutes of weaving in scrog for both plants. Of course maintaining MQ3 is way easier and more time efficient being topped than than MQ4 LST. MQ4 was lagging behind compared MQ3 growth, or I would've topped it as well. Added 15ml of orca in 500L water Added 10ML of Z9 pt 1 and pt 2 Tee fittings with NTP threads delivered. Removed screens I added last week to waterfall bulkheads on inside of buckets and replaced with tee fittings for better DO. Dialed temps down to 77f. Added 10ml of Sensi Grow and 10ml of Sensi Bloom. - First dose of flower nutrients. Put PPM from 630 to 740. Note: In this 15gal system, 5mls of Sensi seems to equate to about 25ppm. Raised LED light to 20” - Was at 16” due to stretch. Light defol on MQ4. Managed time for a bit of scrog tucking but need a bit more stretch to tuck to next square in net on a few. LST to net. If they finish stretch too soon, I’ll work the net down further or supergroup a few of the tall ones before they start to stiffen up PH rose to 5.5 on its own. Some top-offs could have been the reason. I’d like to get some better airflow leaf movement. Need to rethink this fan setup or just buy some overpriced clip-on oscillating fans like in my other tent. I read up on Orca and it suggested applying directly to roots for better coverage and also suggested getting good inoculation before adding phosphorus (flowering nutrients). Added 8ml of orca in 2L water and pour half of solution directly to each bucket. Poured some of the solution into a small spray bottle. Opened buckets, reached in with PPE gloves on and sprayed the roots the best I could without disturbing plants. What could it hurt? I could also do a single top feed next time. Pulled some of MQ3 roots out of the elbow drain. --------------------------------------- April 29 (Day 46) --------------------------------------- Tent: 78-80F (Day) / 70-71F (Night) Rh: 55% (Day) / 47% (Night) Water Temp: 66F-69F PH: 5.6 PPM: 6440/630/740/690 Leaf Temp: 77f Brought RH down to 60% (daytime) and 50% (night) PPM climbed to 5.6 in morning. PPM dropped from 680 to 640 in morning. Water dropped below prefered level. Drinking and eating quite a bit. I’m going to try and get some balance going on with the ppms and water uptake by listening to them and I hear them saying they need more nutrients. Light defol on both plants to clear off shadows to bud sites - didn’t have much time to spend on defoliation, but some a few minutes is better than none. Need to do some major scrog tucking and lst some branches. Cleared drain line. Raised light about 2” in morning - they are sitting at 19” from canopy now. Slight spotting happening today on leaves - seems deficient because nothing else has happened. Added 20ml of Sensi Grow A+B in 1L of RO water to bring ppm from 630 to 740. I'll add more nutrients - maybe a veg/flower blend when they bounce to 700 - I reckon I’ll shoot for 800pm. Finally made some time and did a major defoliation on both plants. I tried to only take leaves only pointing to inside of canopy and only took leaves shadowing other bud sites and cautious of anything on the last three noes of a branch. Slight spotting again on a few leaves. Added 20ml of Sensi grow A+B in the morning. Wished I had done a pre-stretch defoliation on MQ4. Could hurt the yield but no time coupled with crazy growth ftw. Finding some moisture between a few leaves during defol. Reduced humidity more during day and night. Added 8ml of Orca beneficials into two liters of water and dumped a bout 250ml into a small spray bottle. Dumped half of the mixture into each plant bucket. Sprayed the solution directly on roots on both plants. PPM going back down again - need to boost and get it steady so they eat and drink at same rate. Added 5ml sensi Grow A + B with 15ml of Sensi bloom A+B with 10ml of Big Bud in 2L water. Mixed well and dumped into the reservoir. Solution brought PPMs from 690 up to 850. Plants drank a lot today - added another 2 liter of just water which reduced the PPMs down to 830.

Weekly Recap: Great week - no major issues. Some spotting was corrected quickly - suspected phosphorus deficiency because the base nutrients in previous water change was grow-based nutrients during the stretch. CHanged water after 12 days and formulated base using bloom nutrients with a small amount of grow nutrients for a blend to avoid any calmag issues. I'm still having to defoliate the LST'd MQ4 daily for airflow and keeping bud sites clear of shadows along with spreading some branches out where possible for better airflow. MQ3 is self-maintaining itself because of mainline and training and considerably taller with bigger buds being produced than MQ4. --------------------------------------- May 1 (Day 48) --------------------------------------- Tent: 79-80F (Day) / 70-71F (Night) Rh: 50% (Day) / 40% (Night) Water Temp: 65F-69F PH: 5.5 PPM: 830 Leaf Temp: 78f MQ4 has not grown any taller since I last raised light to 19” I’ll need to clear out the bud sites that didn’t make the canopy in the next couple of days. PH steady at 5.5 Water level has dropped bit when checked in afternoon, but not as much as the past few days. Maybe stressed them a bit yesterday but that major defoliation and weave session needed to happen. Need to try and even out rest of canopy, but it may be lost cause at this point. Late in day I noticed spotting starting on both plants looks like phosphorus deficiency to me because nothing is different with system. Rust in middle, purple stems and my solution has been in system for about 12 days which had a base of grow nutrients. I’ve been topping off with primarily bloom nutrients to keep a blend going during transition. Added 15ml of Sensi Bloom A+B and brought PPM back up to 830 from 750. Filled flexitank with 45L RO water (evening) in case the spotting increases in morning and I’m correct about bloom nutrients. --------------------------------------- May 3 (Day 50) --------------------------------------- Tent: 79-80F (Day) / 70-71F (Night) Rh: 50% (Day) / 40% (Night) Water Temp: 65F-70F PH: 5.7 / 5.5 PPM: 830 Leaf Temp: 78f PH came up on its own to 5.7 Mobile spotting is increasing on leaves in morning. Mixed solution in flexitank using a flowering base nutrients with a small amount of grow nutrients for transition. 1:5 ratio. 45L RO water mixed over 8 hour period with large mixing spoon and waterfall using inline pump and two air stones. 90ml of AN Rhinoskin 100ml of AN Sensi Bloom A+B 25ml of AN Sensi Grow A+B 10ml of AN Big Bud 10ml of Z9 Pt 1 + Pt 2 10ml of Orca (15 mins before filling system) Mixed values: PPM: 830 PH: 5.7 Water Temp: 65f System values (drained): PPM: 830 Water Temp: 70f PH: 5.7 When the system was empty, I poured flexitank solution into a dedicated 250ml spray bottle and added two drops of Orca (0.25ml) to the bottle. Sprayed roots directly. The roots look good. Smell like fresh greens. I thought I was going to need to scrub the system but after inspection, it's squeaky clean with help from Z9. Stones are stain-free, air lines are clean and no slime or grime. A tiny bit of nutrient gunk on the screens for the bulkheads to the drain lines. Slight sediments on the bottom of the reservoir - took a sponge to the bottom of the reservoir and very little residue. Some light defoliation on both plants. Plants are transpiring enough I don’t need a humidifier any longer to keep VPD in check. PH down to 5.5 by midnight from 5.7 when system water was changed. It's going to go back down again I guess. Removed humidifier from the tent and moved the fan to lower position in the tent and pointed under the canopy. --------------------------------------- May 4 (Day 51) --------------------------------------- Tent: 79-80F (Day) / 72-74F (Night) Rh: 50% (Day) / 40% (Night) Water Temp: 67F-75F PH: 5.4 PPM: 850/880 Leaf Temp: 78f PPMs going up this morning and the water level is down 1L-2L so they are drinking but not eating yet. Don’t seem stalled, they needed another defoliation in the morning. Managed a quick light defol on MQ3. No time for MQ4 until later in the day. Raised HLG light 1” on MQ4 and 1.5” on MQ3 to keep 19” LED light distance. PH down to 5.4 overnight. Left AC vents pointed up while checking res. temp went to 75f. Bah! Sanitized bottle and added frozen 2liter to bring temps down to 68f over 90 minutes. Added 5ml of Orca mixed well in 1L of RO water. PPM went up to 880 throughout the day. --------------------------------------- May 5 (Day 52) --------------------------------------- Tent: 79-80F (Day) / 73-75F (Night) Rh: 50% (Day) / 40% (Night) Water Temp: 68F-70F PH: 5.4 PPM: 880 / 900 Leaf Temp: 77f No further spotting on leaves. PPM holding at 880pm but water level needs to be topped off - about 1/2gal. Will want to keep the same PPM on top-off because it seems they are eating and drinking at same rate now. Super cropped a few tall branches on mq4. Super cropped one branch on MQ3. MQ3 branches are much hardier than MQ4. Didn’t proceed any further although I’d really like to level 3 or 4 branches out - will see how it responds to the test branch. PH stable at 5.4 Added Z9 pt 1 and pt 2 mixed well in 1L of RO water. Added 10ml of Sensi Bloom A+B mixed well in 1L RO water. (2L water will dilute by 50ppm - - - Adding 10ml nutrients will increase 50ppm to make up for top off and dilution. ) --------------------------------------- May 6 (Day 53) --------------------------------------- Tent: 79F-80F (Day) / 71F - 72F (Night) Rh: 50% (Day) / 40% (Night) Water Temp: 68F-70F PH: 5.3 PPM: 900 / Leaf Temp: 77F PH dropped to 5.3 overnight - seems it likes the lower range after water changes. Let's see where it is a week from now. Plants are drinking and eating at same rate. PPM steady at 900 but water level is down 3L. A little tucking and defoliation to clear light for bud sites. No further spotting on leaves. Added 20ml of AN Big Bud mixed well in 1L RO water. PPM stayed the same at 900. Tough to get around stationary buckets. Need more room to work on plants on next run with 4 plants. - am seeing sections that look more neglected due to reach. Add 8ml of Orca mixed well in 1L RO water. Spread branches out a bit in some dense sections of plants - make sure budding sections are off net if possible. --------------------------------------- May 7 (Day 54) --------------------------------------- Tent: 79F-80F (Day) / 71F - 72F (Night) Rh: 50% (Day) / 40% (Night) Water Temp: 68F-74F PH: 5.4 PPM: 900 / 860 / 930 Leaf Temp: 77F PH rose to 5.4 overnight Plants are still drinking and eating at same rate. PPM steady at 900 but water level is down 3L. Defoliation on MQ4 - growth is slowing down now. Added 10ml of sensi bloom A+B in 1L RO water for top off - brought ppm to 930. Added 20ml of B52 for stalk stiffening and uptake to 1L of RO water Left vents up on AC again while checking reservoir. Added frozen 2liter - brought down to 69f Add 8ml of Orca mixed well in 1L RO water. Notice some leaf curling and stress on MQ3 and high points of MQ4 and they were praying - showing me the plant is healthy but the curling tells me they are being overworked by the lights. Raised lights to about 20” - MQ4 has leveled out much shorter than MQ3. I think I’ll rearrange lights tomorrow and dedicate the CMH to mq4 for better penetration now that they are used to the CMH; each light has a 3x3 footprint.

Weekly Summary: Solid week. Moved lights around now that plants are used to the CMH. Each plant has a dedicated light now. FIrst grow with the HLG 300 Rspec and it only has a 3x3 flowering footprint so each plant should have ample wattage with a cross-over spectrum in between the plants. Other than light defoliation here and there for airflow and clearing bud sites of shadows, I've been pretty much hands off other than top-offs. MQ4 became sticky this week. Added 8ml of Z9 pt 1 + pt 2 in 1L of RO water. PPM bounced up to 950 from 930 after tops offs. Moved lights around; each plant has a dedicated light. MQ3 has the LED and MQ4 has the CMH with crossover light spread. Flowers are really starting to stack. Smell is increasing. Weekly Summary: Overall great week in terms of growth; lots of trichome production, smell has increased; deep, rich, funky, and pungent, hits in back of nasal like a gnarly skunky smell when the tent opens. MQ3 is producing a few really chunky flowers. Summer temps outside this week caused some issues with the environment and water temps being higher than normal. Additionally, I had some logistics I had to take care of quickly that resulted in me working on the lung room and moving equipment around a couple of days, which caused more fluctuations - couldn't be avoided. I knew I’d have some challenges towards the end by starting this grow in March instead of February like originally planned. Good thing temps should stay somewhat cooler until June 15. A bit of yellowing and spotting happened only on a few leaves on both plants, tops, and bottom. I assumed they need more PK. Big bud product is a weaker version of overdrive, great for transition, but the plants likely require more Phosphorus. I will continue to watch it. Week Summary: I went for a water change as it had been 18 days. The Phosphorus deficiency progressed a bit but has been resolved mostly although I feel the factors leading up to it were caused by nitrogen toxicity and natural fade and expected nitrogen deficiency in late flower is also appearing on leaves. The LED cooked some of the leaves on MQ3 as they are dry and brittle. I've since raised the LED and inch and dialed it back the intensity a little and the leaves haven't taco'd since. I was busy with work, so my regiment wasn't as tight as it should have been. The PH has been dropping all week and hasn't started to come back up yet - signaling a possible root issue. Either Something was off about the water change. I didn't expect much growth, but the plants stalled on drinking and eating a majority of the week since water change. Decided to go back to just base nutrients to see if it spreads or halts. I can always add more. I suspect too much p/k deficiency because Sensi Bloom part one should have enough nitrogen. Not to mention a possible combination of a Phosphorus deficiency along with a bit of nutrient burn and the added natural late-flower expected nitrogen deficiency and fade in late flower and a bit of light/heat stress. Quite the combo. Last week was tough for these girls and the water change seemed to stall them. On one hand, I regret the water change and should have just continued with a PK booster (overdrive) because they were doing great. I don’t think this was a case of recent nutrient lockout or PH issue because they were drinking and eating plenty before this past water change. Added 10ml overdrive in morning to ensure the phosphorus deficiency is being treated. PPM went to 730 Added 10ml of orca in evening in 1L water. PH is still tanking. I expected a bit after water change, but dropping 18 points (5 today) in four days is quite concerning. So odd, because before water change, it was 5.8 and drinking and eating. Even if I wanted to flush with some plain water, I’d have to drop the ph from 6.7 out of RO filter to a 4.3 to be safe and avoid ph flection issues, then bring it up from there slowly to an acceptable range so I could re-add a nutrient solution around the 5.6 mark because that is where ph perfect will likely stabilize before refilling system. I still see these plants having 1-2 weeks left. Dropped to 5.3 in morning PPM went up to 830 overnight - water level has a noticeable drop. Added 20ml of Orca in 1.5L of RO water - PPM dropped from 850 to 830 Add 15ml Z9 in 1L RO water - PPM dropped from 830 to 820 Added 2L plain RO water. - Ppm dropped to 780 PH dropped to 5.1 by end of day. Clipped test bud one off MQ4 week ago. Dried in 3 days at 50% humidity in closet. Pulled when spongey, trimmed and tossed in jar with boveda pack. Burped for the week several times a day. Tested... and its dynamite. I could chop MQ4 tit now with no regrets. While the smell and flavor isn’t quite there yet without more cure, it surely sticks to side of jar, dense nuts, frosty AF. I smoked on it all day to test. The head change is really nice, heavy at times. I may do a water change tomorrow just to give MQ3 a bit more time to curl in the pistils - maybe run until Sunday when my schedule frees up to enjoy the chop process. Since the ph is on the drop, I’ll need to decide. --------------------------------------- June 11 (Day 89) --------------------------------------- Tent: 86-88F (Day) / 78F (Night) Rh: 48% (Day) / 49% (Night) Water Temp: 78F PH: 5.5 PPM: 800 Leaf Temp: NA Water change: 10Gal RO water ----------------------- 80ml rhino 100ml of Sensi Bloom A+B 20ml of Overdrive Mixed well in flexitank, then drained and added new solution to system. Final PPM: 800 Final PH: 5.4 Temp: 67F Added 20ml of Orca later in day. Added 20ml of Z9 Fans on full maximum like last several days. I think I’d add more passive intakes to this tent on the next round if I expect to grow into summer months - which wasn’t planned originally. Rotated frozen water bottles all day. Lights are still 16 hours on and 8 off to reduce heat all week.

Note: I didn't necessarily flush but I didn't add any more additives or nutrients while away so I've set the nutrient values in the diary to null. --------------------------------------- June 12 (Day 90) --------------------------------------- Away - Camping. --------------------------------------- June 13 (Day 91) --------------------------------------- Away - Camping. After camping, they survived the summer heatwave and look pretty good. The stench in the tent is not like your typical Northern Lights or White Widow. It's straight-up funk that hits you in the back of your throat. I can't really pinpoint any specific scents but it's a very rich and pungent odor for sure. I’m 100% confident the roots are probably degrading with rot after the warm temps. The only problem I had while away is was the AC fills into a 5gallon bucket and it couldn’t keep up with demand about an hour before I got home. After a quick cleanup, I took a closer look and I’m happy with trichomes on both plants. This was supposed to be a 65-75 day fast finisher. Today is day 91. I’m satisfied. I consumed a test bud on weekend that went under a 3 day dry. White ash, no harshness, and punchy in regards to the effects. Chopping them tomorrow.

######################################### June 14 (Day 92) HARVEST ######################################### Grow Summary: Grown in 4x4 tent - but I only used 2x4 because of heater and dehumidification. Each plant had a dedicated light, MQ3 used the HLG 300 V2 Rspec and MQ4 used the CMH 315. It's not an accurate comparison of lights because both plants were sharing the HLG during veg. The plants were grown in hydroponics using a custom two-site PA hydroponics clone RDWC system with Advanced Nutrients and Orca for beneficials. ----------------------------------------------------------- Harvest ----------------------------------------------------------- I carefully chopped each plant individually. I kept plants separate and branches were cut where it made sense due to trellis and ability to easily hang on the dry lines. The smell of this flower on the plant was straight-up heavy, pungent funk. Trichomes are slightly amber, mostly cloudy and I’m overall happy with the trichome development. ----------------------------------------------------------- Drying ----------------------------------------------------------- Branches were hung to dry on burlap twine in a tent in complete darkness, branches upside down, with humidity dialed in at 65% for 24hr, 64% for the second 24hr. Then 63% for the third day. I then dialed down the RH each day by 1% until I hit 58% RH and hold. Exhaust and intake were on the lowest setting during drying. I pulled the branches to trim as they were ready but the average was about 7-8 day dry. ----------------------------------------------------------- Trimming ----------------------------------------------------------- I'll admit, I was in trim jail for several nights. I trimmed each stem as it was ready. I like to dry trim when buds were spongy like lightly stale marshmallows (although they were as sticky as melted marshmallows). I should note that MQ4 were ready first, around day 5 because they were smaller buds. MQ3 small buds were ready on day 6/7 and MQ3 big colas were ready around day 8/9. I was happy with the slow dry. All leaves were trimmed, including most sugar. I kept stems intact where it made sense to preserve the buds/colas. I like to trim tight for a quality product. I want buds, not leaves. The largest trimmed colas were the length of my forearm. ----------------------------------------------------------- Curing ----------------------------------------------------------- My small-town Ontario local stores were out of the 1L mason jars so I had to start with lower grade jars used for pasta and bulk goods - they have plastic threads on the lid. I added a mini hygrometer to each jar. The RH averaged 68-72% when trimmed flowers went in jars. I started by burping several times a day for the first week. Rolling jars wasn't working too well because the buds are so sticky. Sometimes, I had to gently remove the contents and re-pack loosely to avoid any chance of mold. Once the jar reaches 64%, I acquired 1L mason jars and loosely transferred flower to proper mason jars with a 62% two-way Boveda pack. I burped the jars daily for the next two weeks until hits 62% and holds the hygrometer - then it stays sealed and just rolled daily. The large colas stayed in the tall pasta jars to preserve their integrity. ----------------------------------------------------------- Final Yields ----------------------------------------------------------- Wet Product: MQ3: 85.82oz MQ4: 95.27oz Total Wet Product Yield: 181.09oz (11.3 lbs) Flower Product: **Measured 20 days after harvest at 62% RH in jar. ** Test branch not included in weight MQ3: 277g (mainlined) [Left in photo] MQ4: 179g (LST) [Right in photo] Finished Product Yield: 456g (16.28oz) Trim Product: **Measured 20 days after harvest MQ3: 80g MQ4: 55g Total Trim Weight: 135g = 4.82oz Total Yield: Flower: 456g (16.28oz) Trim: 135g (4.82oz) Total Yield Weight: 591g (21.11oz) Yield per Watt: 591g / 615w = 0.96g/watt ----------------------------------------------------------- Product Test ----------------------------------------------------------- On day 30 of cure, I tested the flower and passed some to a few friends for their input. Feedback was positive. Sticky, trichome-covered, dense, fire! The buds stick to the sides of the jars. Mostly dense buds - not airy. Smoke is smooth, no cough. White ash. The 60/40 (sativa/indica) is a blend that is on point. I can see this being a daily choice for me. It has a nice kick for an uplifting focus session. And long-lasting! Upwards of 2.5 hour noticeable head/body change. In regards to flavor and smell, it's not fully there yet. It doesn’t taste or smell like hay, but the flavors/scents are still muted. There are indeed creamy, sweet, sugary undertones in the scent that it is giving off. I’ll expect more flavour on day 60 of cure. I’m a heavy user for many years and only purchase AAAA craft outside of my own harvests. With bias, I’m going to say this particular harvest after cure is as good as anything in my jars from craft suppliers. ----------------------------------------------------------- Regrets ----------------------------------------------------------- Not topping MQ4. MQ4 was a lot of work on the defoliation weeks 4-6 and it produced less yield. MQ4 threw a pistil on day 23 so mainlining this pheno probably wasn’t an option, but I could have at least topped it once on day 18ish. Also wished I had added dedicated lights around week four. Oh! And I probably should have hooked up my top-off bucket to keep the water level the same but life got busy and I kept putting it off because I wanted to build a new stand for it. BlendingPH Perfect Coco grow and bloom on week 6. I won't do that again. After research, bloom has enough nitrogen and calmag for the stretch. ----------------------------------------------------------- Next Run Mods ----------------------------------------------------------- I’m going to try the Microbial Mass product in combination with Orca (which is seems to be more of a Myco Inoculant). I also may try adding GH RapidStart as well for more root growth. I was overall happy with Advanced Coco blend for RWDC. I went with Coco product because CoCo mostly like hydro and from research, the AN Coco line just has added Calmag to it. I didn’t really see any issues with the AN Coco line and it surely produced even though I pushed the nutrients a bit hard and got some toxicity in early flower. I also had an issue with the roots in the front of the buckets where the roots seemed to get a bit mushy and starting to rot. I may put a riser/elevator in the bottom of the bucket to allow water to flow under the roots. While the flow in my two-bucket RDWC system is adequate, I may upgrade the pump from a 250gph to a 400gph for better flow to combat that issue with roots in front of the bucket. I’ll be running 4 plants next run in the fall. Either (2) two-site systems in parallel with different strains -or- a 4 site single system with all same strain; undecided. ----------------------------------------------------------- Final Thoughts ----------------------------------------------------------- I’m super satisfied with Night Owl genetics in my RDWC setup. I also feel a dedicated light for each plant really helped put the improve the yield, nearly 1gram per watt. I feel if MQ4 was even just topped, not even mainlined, instead of LST technique, this grow would have exceeded 1gram per watt. Added the CMH about 10-14 days earlier would have likely improved yield as well. ----------------------------------------------------------- The End ----------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for checking out my diary!
