The multi strain outdoor grow has started. Gonna be a lot of work. After much research, and contemplation we decided on the above listed strains for the first phase of our outdoor grow. Starting out a little earlier this year than we did last year. Where we're at, I don't expect the girls to go in the ground until June. That's ok though, I'm confident they'll have a good jump on veg by then, and be ready. We're not only looking for a great fall yield, but we want quality flower as well.😉
So, we lost a Granddaddy Purple girl. She just never broke ground. All other strains are doing very well. Have only been able to put them outside like 3 or 4 times last week due to weather. So, I guess this would be classified as an indoor/outdoor grow. For now .😏
Transplanted The 2nd day of last week. I'll never use those bio peat starter pots again. You're supposed to be able to just transplant The whole thing into a bigger pot or the ground, and have the roots grow right through. Well, I'm pretty sure they're The reason I lost a girl. No proper drainage, and if they're not wet all The time they get hard. I cut them down both sides, got the girls out of them, and threw them away. Lesson learned.😒 Anyhow, The girls put on a couple inches, and added a couple sets of real leaves. I raised the lights, and am hoping for Sun soon so I can start acclimating them to the outside world.
All the girls in this phase of the summer grow are progressing very well. They've put on an average of 3" in height, and are filling out nicely. They've grown right out of their 1st transplant pots, and will be transplanted into bigger pots this afternoon. Hopefully, this will be the last time before the majority of them go into the ground as they're still in the grow room under the lights, and we're getting pressed for space in the grow room. We're under frost advisory for the next 2 days. They've only seen the sun 3 times so far due to the cold weather.😢 Probably June before they'll be outside for the summer. However, we've invested in more lights, and these babies are really something!👏😀
Due to lack of space, decided to hold off on the transplant till this week. Topped, and defoliated instead. Much to the dismay of some interested parties. However, I knew it would be worth it in the long run.😉
Gave the the girls Advanced Nutrients Sensi Cal Mag Xtra along with their regular nutes for 3 days after, and they recovered well. Today was the first day they've seen actual sunshine for almost 2 weeks. Weather has just been bad for May. We've been under freeze, and frost advisorys for the past 5 days, at least. Seen snow, and hail for a few of them. Hopefully, we're gonna get some nice temps, and sunshine for awhile.🌞
All girls of the phase #1, grow are doing great! They're happy, healthy, and loving it. Have reduced nutrients to increase ph a little, and reduce tds. I think we're at optimal levels. The girls have been seeing the sun a little more, and all is well.☺️
So, wow! Phase #1 is happy, healthy, and thriving!☺️ The girls have only seen the sun a few short times in the last week. We're actually under a frost advisory again tonight, and have been for the previous two. It's just crazy, but whatta ya do? Anyhow, I'm hoping it warms up enough next week to put at least phase #1 in the ground. Really crowded in the grow room right now.😢 Need some sun, and warm weather!🌞
Phase #1, is doing well. Got six of them in the ground. Topped, and defoliated all of them, and hit 'em with Advanced Nutrients Rhino Skin, and Sensi Cal Mag Xtra, in addition to their base nutes. More of these girls will go in the ground this week. Most have reached 29 to 32", even after being topped twice now. I'm confident we're going to have an exceptional crop this year. All high zuke marijuana!😉
Got 10 of the 14 girls of phase #1, in the ground. All of the girls that are staying indoor/outdoor have been flipped to 12/12 lighting. The information on this diary will now focus only on the girls that are staying inside. Will include photos of outside girls on occasion, but information only on above mentioned. Transplanted the remaining girls into 5 gallon pots, and they're doing great!☺️
Ok, so next week's update, this diary will be converted into a combination of all three phases of the summer multi strain diaries, and be outdoor only. Phase #2, will become a combination of all 3 phases, and focus only on the girls that are staying indoors (indoor/outdoor), that are now on a 12/12 light schedule, and phase #3, will be eliminated. We feel this will make it easier for us to keep up, and easier for you to follow. The other reason for this conversion is that we will be starting a new diary that will cover our cross, and breeding of Hawaiian Thai, and Do Si Dos.☺️
So, these girls have grown up.☺️ Got nice white pistils popping, and they're just sucking up the nutrients. Switched to bloom stage nutes with a booster of Advanced Nutrients Bud Igniter👍New Dominater 2x from my friends at Lushledlighting!👍😉 Wow! This indoor/outdoor grow is gonna be the one!💪😆
Two weeks into flower, and all is well with these girls. Added Advanced Nutrients Big Bud to their nutrients. Light defoiliation for right now. Added a few inches in height. Lots of buds popping.☺️
Heavy defoiliation, and lollipoping to put all energy on building big buds. Switched up bloom stage nutes. Added Advanced Nutrients B-52, and Sensi Cal Mag Xtra. Finished the first 2 weeks of Bud Igniter. The girls been seeing the sun for about 8 hrs. a day for a few days this past week. I really prefer to have direct intense sunlight or to just leave them under the lights. They do love the sunshine though.🌞☺️
The phase #1 girls recovered nicely from the lollipoping, and defoiliation. Buds are getting big, and frosty.👏 Also, broke a branch on the White Widow. Ouch! It was a good one too. Oh well, it is what it is. Other than that. All is well.☺️
Big surprise. Checked trichomes yesterday, and have some clouding up sure enough. I was told that Bud Igniter from Advanced Nutrients would speed up the flower cycle, and it did. So, these girls are being flushed with Advanced Nutrients Flawless Finish. Will be checking trichomes daily, and as soon as we have about 20-30 percent, they'll be ready for the darkroom for a couple days. Then harvest time.😂✌️
These girls are ready. The White Widow, and Do Si Dos are in the darkroom. GG Lemon, and Critical Widow on deck. The majority of trichomes are now cloudy. Maybe 10-20% amber. A couple days in the darkroom ought to put me real close to the optimal harvest time. Getting down to crunch time now, and I like what I'm seeing. Hopefully, will like what I'm smoking soon.☺️💨💨
This is a great strain. She responded well to her environment, and produced some high zuke flower. Not near as big of yield as I was hoping for. Another great experience on GD. Had several technical difficulties the end of the harvest so it made it longer, and more tedious. All, and all, great grow. Excellent quality flower.😁✌️
So, major technical difficulties all through harvest. Finally, I think we're getting back on track here. The WW grew well. Broke a main branch in like week4 of flower. Great experience growing on GD. Thank you so much to the entire GD family, GD, and all involved in this grow.☺️
As previously mentioned, technical difficulties during harvest. Otherwise, another great grow on GD. This girl produced the highest yield, and high zuke flower. Crazy frosty buds that smell great.👍Thanks to GD, the GD Fam, and all who made this grow possible.☺️
So, at first I thought we were gonna have a problem with the CW girls. They were put into the substrate late at night after a 17 hr. drive, and out of sync with the rest of the phase. By week 4 They were right up with the other strains. Great grow on GD. Thanks to GD Fam, GD, and all who made this grow possible.☺️
