Heya Growmies, this week was pretty eventful
first off, the plant is in flowering in full force and doing really well despite a lot of user error throughout its life!
I mentioned last week I was going to do two things, the plants last major defoliation and turn my DWC into a 2 bucket RDWC.
I have managed to get around to both, I am always anxious when defoliating, scared of taking off too much but this time I really pushed my comfort zone, let me know what you think.
before, in my other grows, I have a lot of larfy buds, I dont want those, I want tight, dense small nuggies, I think one of my bigger problems back then was defoliation amount, I just left too many fan leaves.
RDWC.... Let me just say that I have proven to myself this week that I'm not destined to become a plumber, in my first iteration the drain line was too small, causing the pump to overpower it and overflow the plant bucket, I changed out the hose for some 50mm pvc tubing, which worked wonders, for the first few hours I sprung leaks and had to pull my plant out during her dark period to fix it; no bueno.
All is well right now though, no leaks and everything is circulating nicely at 500 liters an hour. I could probably get a bigger pump, but its fine, I'm going to stop tempting fate.
From here on out honestly, theres not much more for me to do other than go into the garden, pull a fan leave here or there, check flowers for nanners and balls and adjust the water. It's on cruise control now
Stay safe out there growmies, keep growing!
@Tweezer, Using a Samsung Galaxy s20. it has a wide angle lens for close ups, I oddly prefer it to a jewellers loupe or a Microscope for checking trichomes :)
Great job taming that female so far!!!
Nice canopy coverage.. she is looking really healthy aswell :D
Seems like she took some time to transition to flower, the buds are a bit underdeveloped for week 4 of flower, I am surprised she already has resin coverage, looking like she might turn out special :D
Good luck with the rest of the grow m8!
@BelgianBudtender,
Nice!
Good that she is not showing hermie signs... I had that too often in my past year of DWC grows with heavy defoliations...
In DWC with green sensation I used to put around 1/3 of the dosage, not more than 1/2, and I would give it starting around day 21 of flower -> basically when they are done stretching. I guess in DWC the dosage also depends on how much small air bubbles you pump in the water, the more air the more nutrients they can take up I think, anyway if you passed the first 3 weeks of flower and don't notice much stretch I would definitely add green sensation and if you want to be careful just start at low dosage e.g. 0.2ml/L
@Slurpy_Terpy, Yup I noticed that, too. I did have some slip ups in the first or second week of flower, I wonder if that caused the delayed flowering, or if its just the strain its a 9 week finisher, not a lot of diaries out there to compare to. I'm keeping a vigilant eye for any bananas or hermies, but so far I seem to have dodged that bullet.
that or I should've started adding PK sooner, either way, I'm running 1 Ml/l of Plagron Green sensation now in week 5 so she'll have plenty, The plant has also been completely stripped of the overgrown and shaded foliage so there's little other places aside from buds for her to focus her energy on now :P
Hi! Looking good but really cannot see buds very well, maybe you can take some pics after light off with flash? Always looks so much betrer and trichomes are more visible...
Even when leds on with a flash gives better pics too.
Anyway all the best fellow Gardener!
Hello there! Thank you for sharing your time lapse video, I love to watch those!
That is when you truly see in fact those are not only leafs but wings too!
Yes the heat can stunt them... if you have the chance to move your grow to a better cooler place I would do it especially with hydro water might be too warm, do you use hydrogen peroxide in your system? You can use some ozone too and rinse those tubing, it helps getting rid of gunk, and a weaker solution passed through to roots also helps keeping them white and fresh...
All the best for this week!
