First time grower trying to make sense of everything. Any comments or tips would be greatly appreciated! I'm thinking about adding these seeds into Jiffy Peat Pellets when they are ready. They are going to sit under a 150-watt grow light for the first few weeks because the temperature in Southern Ontario is still a little cool, and it's been extremely windy as of late. Update: Didn't like the Peat Pellets. They would dry up super fast under the light so I tried to create humidity by placing them under plastic wrap and poking holes. Concerned that it might choke off air flow, I placed each of them into solo cups with Promix HP soil. This way I don't have to worry that they will dry up.

How wet should my soil be at this stage? The seedlings are just beginning to crack through the top, but this is mostly because I didn't cover them up too much when I changed them from the Peat Pellets to the solo cup. Soil is Pro-Mix HP. And what PH should my water be at?

At this stage, just focus on the basics as she will grow regardless with good light, water and light air ventilation. Make sure your night temperatures don't drop too low as it can stunt or even kill your plant so early on. Try keeping your night temp above 18 Degrees C. Secondly, don't over water.. a bit a time is better than too much all at once if you're not sure. As you can add but can't take away. Overwatering is another problem that will stunt your plants growth. So less is more. No nutrients is needed at all at this stage, just water pH'd to around 6.5 as its what I use, and proven to be best range in soil. That soil mix has enough in it to last you 3-4 weeks, so no nutrients is needed. Check out my diaries if you need any guidance or happy to help via message. Lastly, higher humidity at around 50-65% will help her growth through the seedling and veg stage. If you're out doors anything that can give you a greenhouse effect will help. Not only with humidity but raising the temperatures! Hope this helps

Surprisingly slow growth, but the colour on most of them looks healthy. Plant #4 might be a goner, it had problems getting out of the seed and nearly died the other day. It's likely just going to be a very weak plant. Keeping my fingers crossed though. Update #1: After getting some helpful advice from Mark at Dinafem Seeds, I transplanted the three largest ones into 7 gal smart pots and placed them outside where they will stay. The remaining two will likely head outside either tonight or tomorrow depending on the weather (these are the smallest two, #2 and #4). Update #2: As of June 2 (Day 13), all plants have been transplanted into 7 gal smart pots and will remain outside.

All 5 plants are officially outside. Needed to get them out of the 16 oz solo cups they were in, but the only way I could do that was to bring them outside, and it's currently dropping to 11-14 degrees Celsius at night (52-57 Fahrenheit). I've topped plants #3 and #5 at the third node. I probably won't top the others because they seem to be stunted already from the cold weather and are thus already slightly behind schedule. It'll be nice to compare the differences in the end this way.

Finally getting some decent sun and they're making the most of it. The mutant (Plant #1) is fun to watch, it's growing out of a stem in a peculiar way. Slightly concerned about Plant #5 (the biggest one), I'm thinking it might be budding because of something that I noticed growing between the stem where it was topped (could be bud, or even worse it could be a seed sack -- only reason why I'm thinking that is because there's no white hairs anywhere on the plant).

Does anyone know what that thing is that is growing out of the node in the last picture? The picture doesn't really do it much justice, but I'm thinking it's either the start of a seed, or it's beginning to bud. I should mention that there are 0 white hairs anywhere on the plant.

Hi there! Looks like a male sex / banana :-( I'd recommend to wait a couple of days to ensure it's a male (or hermie), then it's up to you: throw away, or produce seeds. Good luck with this one!

I've been very fortunate with the weather as of late. These guys are getting direct sunlight from 8:30am until 7:30pm (11 hours) and then it's a bit shady until 8:30pm. One plant is showing her hairs while the others are definitely still in vegetation. You can see that there is only one plant that is topped (Plant #3, you can see previous weeks posts to follow it). That's the one that's exhibiting hairs early. Plant #1 (first picture that appears every day) is the mutant, it seems to have topped itself and has three main colas.

This starts the first week of flowering for the plants. There's a lot of bite marks which I think are coming from Thirps, I stopped noticing Aphids after I made a homemade tomato leaf spray. I keep them in the shed a night to help shield them from the pests, not sure what else to do at this point.

The buds are coming in very nicely. Nice long white hairs on all of them. The pH Perfect Sensi Bloom nutrients that I'm using is amazing. The name does exactly what it says, pH is perfect each and every time. Saves you money from having to by a pH pen, test strips, solution drops, or whatever it is that you use. Really like this product and would definitely recommend!

Buds are coming nice and strong. The heat has been pretty high and consistent last few weeks and they're are just devouring water. The pH Perfect Sensi Bloom nutrients that I'm using is amazing. I'm thinking that this is going to be the second last week. They are nearly 70 days old now and according to Dinafem's description they harvest between 70-80 days. Yesterday I noticed a little bit of bud rot on one of the smaller kolas so I picked that off. Hoping it doesn't spread too much. How do I tell when they are ready for harvest?

Looking like this might be the last week. The weather is going to be horrible according to forecast so it isn't ideal but I'm really hoping to avoid bud rot or any type of disease associated with bad weather in an outdoor grow. Keeping close eyes on them.

For my first time growing I would say it was a success. It would have been a catastrophic failure without the GrowDiaries platform. The help and support from the community guided this project from start to finish and I'm super thankful for that. I've encouraged all of my friends and neighbours that grow to sign up and they are loving it as well. With regards to the strain, I can't say a whole lot because I don't have much to compare it to since this is my first time. However, there was a fair amount of bud rot and I can't say for certain if that's due to genetics, weather, or my own mistakes, but I'm leaning towards the latter. I cut off an ounce of bud that had mold and rot on it. It rained heavily towards the end and the buds are extremely dense and I think that made it difficult for the moisture to escape.00
