Gonna try and train just one of these guys in a good size tent, see how it goes. Concentrate on caring for it, since it sounds like it needs a lot of love to get good return. So I will try a do that. Wish me luck lol. Long term investment for this Dr.
Started LST with the rocks. Big fan leaves blocking nodes removed. Really excited for this plant. Reading tells me to only grow this for 2-3 weeks in veg. Crazy....
Plants grew really well, wasn't expecting so much growth, especially in length/potential height. Might only veg half a week and flip to flowering, to be safe on plant size. Defoliated them a bit before the nute change today. Still using rocks for LST.
Spent 4 days vegging out this week then triggered flowering and changed the water solution. Past 3 days have are transition to flower. I swear it's stretching already lol. First pic was just 3 days ago when I flipped to flowering. Gonna be a crazy and fun plant to grow. So far so good.
Wow this guy grows ferociously. Stretch is already happening. Gave it a hard cleanup today. LST with the rocks. Always fun. Setting in for the long haul with this guy. SCROG net is going up next day or two. Help with training.
Growing healthy and fast. Cleaned up some fan leaves after the pics to open more bud sites. Removed some last rocks in favor of net. Just gonna keep on keeping on. Good so far.
End of week 3 flower. Explosive stretching. Just the one plant looks like it will easily fill the 5x5 tent. Gave it a hard pruning/defoliation a few days ago, will need a light one in another day or two. Still early in a long journey.
End of week 4 and the extreme stretch continues. I will be pruning/defoliating tonight or tomorrow a bit. Not too much. Plant is eating and drinking nutes like a champ. Training is a a doozy with the Dr.
This guy just keeps growing. Eating water and nutrients like a champ... I'm going to add some beneficial root goodies this week to give an aid to the roots, I mean the plant is not even half way done so I figured it couldn't hurt. The amount of bud sites I'm seeing is impressive. Even though the flowers themselves will be relatively small just by th genetics. Fun fun.
End of week 6 went well. Bud sites are started to swell. Still growing, although slower than the first 5 weeks. Drinking more water than I would have thought. Probably because I'm not used to growing one giant plant but a few smaller ones. Dr. Is happy atm. Yellowing in image from red light I added to tent. Added some root goodies too. Figure possible halfway ish for roots.
End of week 7 went well. Seen a little more growth in length but also buds are starting to show many Pistons. Gonna be fun to see how th Dr. Finishes off. The bud sites look like they will be bigger then pearls but I know they won't be lol. Gotta remove a lot of small leaves blocking bud sites. Been doing it but haven't kept up. This plant has many many internodal leaves, and bud sites... Smells of strong citrus atm.
End of week 8 went well. Noticed the hairs got a lot longer. I removed a lot of internodal leaves blocking buds. The plant slowed up eating a bit after that. Gonna dial back nutes a tad next week. I see a little leaf tip burn. What a wonderful looking plant though.
End of week 9 went well. Buds are showing their structure and swelling. Just gonna keep on tracking the nutes and plants happiness. While the plants seem happy I think the ppm still too high. Trying to prune blocked leaves and buds best I can without stressimg the Dr. Getting closer!
End of week 10 still rocking. Couple days late posting because of Thanksgiving. Dropped the nutes ppm a bit. Noticed lights might be too close, seen some light burn I think. Both are adjusted now. 2-3 more weeks with the Dr. I think. Well see.
End of week 11 and the Dr is still going strong. Gonna just monitor the Trichomes over the next couple weeks and see when she needs to be flushed. Overall the Dr has been kind to me for the amount of pruning I've given.
End of week 12 and still holding strong. Pics are a few days after the end of week 12. Trichomes getting better looking, almost ready to flush. Maybe few more days then flush. Wel see. Happy with the Dr.
End of week 13 flowering, the Dr. did not want to finish up. Finally decided to start flushing today. Starting to see amber trichomes on the buds. Definitely less than 10 percent Amber but im pulling the trigger. Next update should be last flower images then harvest time. Keep on keeping on.
Close to end of week 14 flowering. Flushed for past 5 days. About 96 days total. Cut it down early this morning. Smelled wonderful, citrusy to me. So much needs to be pruned off these nugs. I knew that going into this but man the Dr. is no joke. Will update harvest week with more images once full cleaned and dried. My neck is already stiff after one branch. Lol...
Things I knew. Big plant, small buds, sensitive to nutes, major pruning needed after harvest. All true except the nutes part. Ate like a champ, didn't have nutrient issues so much as lights too close because of its size. Required more a lot more training than I expected for scrog. All on all beautiful clean uppity high. No downer. Love it but for the amount of stems with the tiny buds.
The Dr. Did not disappoint and I'm very happy to report it was my largest harvest, personally. Friends mixed, some love others hate the look of the bud so it turns them off with a prejudice.
Lol. We have the exact same nutes. Well I have sensi coco and I don't have the sen and I have bud factor X. Very nice to see your grows. Great to know how well AN works in DWC as ive just got 2 19l pots. Can't wait. Very nice!!!! Oh, btw, if you have any tips or things that I need to know about how AN works in DWC can u please DM me. Thanks bro
@gottagrowsometime, works great. Especially since it manages PH for you. Only thing I've noticed is some plants want cal-mag added first if the water ppm is too low. Like good Reverse osmosis water. Best wishes, thanks for the kind words.
@ILoVeThiSpLaNt, Barely... I did two rounds of pruning on each branch since when I look away it still looked to have a lot. 3 large braches took almost 2 hours! Maybe half way at this point.
@BioBuds, The flower period on the Dr. Grinspoon is 90-95 days. Pretty unique. So flushing at about 91 days seems legit for this strand. I did give it a real hard pruning early flower which might have set it back a tad.
Excellent diary!
I'm curious to try this legendary strain but I'm scared about cleaning the plann when harvesting

Good Grinspoon! Good luck in continuing the cycle 👍
"Plant is eating and drinking nutes like a champ" - In the beginning, I was confused by the diary, where it was said that this strain eats very poorly.
Now I completely agree with you - he eats actively and I don't see any difference with my previous plants (in terms of appetite, otherwise it is a very interesting representative of cannabis)
@smalinet, I agree, I kept reading it was sensitive to nitrogen. It seems to be just fine with high levels. Maybe they overfed after a hard pruning or defoliation. Not sure...
