Hi guys :D Welcome to S03 of Buds - Growing experience!
This season I'll cultivate a strain selection for a few contests and some sponsored grows BUT all of them were strains that I was most curious about and having 30 top strains to select from, it was hard to define the best concidering, flavour, taste, effect, THC amount and visual appeal. I'm very pleased to announce that Sweet Seeds and Zamnesia gave me the opportunity to partially sponsor this grow season by supplying me wiht their strains of my choice.
For my hydro setup I'll be using the Green House Feeding Nutrient Starter Kit which I've got for participating in their contest. I still need to read into how much nutrients I'll need for this season since I'll run only automatic strains with the exception of Dark Phoenix which will be in the same reservoir as 2 other automatic strains. I'll also do something a bit different this time, because I'll also grow one strain in a RQS fabric pot and soil, which I never did before.
For the first time I'll also be using the PLANT SUCCESS ORCA LIQUID MYCORRHIZAE after reading a lot of positive things about the fungi and the product.
I've also learned a lot from my last grow season which ended in 2 plants dying off because of bacteria in my reservoirs and both res' were cleaned with hospital grade chemicals to remove 99.9% of all bacteria in both reservoirs before the start of this season.
Let's hope for the best and I hope that I'll have a lot of fun doing it :)

Hi guys!
This past week was a bit strange. I need to learn more about the GHF nutrients because I gave my plants 1/8 (for automatics) of the amount for the first/second week and after 2 days my plants went almost all pale, so that was definitely a deficiency. Then I added quite a bit more of these nutrients and I think I overdid it but the plants came back to color again (70-80%ish) so that's a good sign. To lower the 700ppm value I added around 20L of water, it's around 500 now. This should make it easier for the plants to jump back. I'll keep an eye on them, if the plants won't show signs of recovery, I'll remove half the water and add some more plain water to drive the ppm down even further. I don't know why but it kind of looks a bit unhappy, and it's a bit smaller than the other plants. Gotta keep an eye on it!

Hi guys,
another week has past, still not much to comment because the plant develops properly. I topped the plant and I'm very happy that it recovered almost instantly after a day or two. The orca myco works its wonders. The root system stretches every single day significantly which should pretty soon transfer more nutrients to the upper part of the plant. Can't stop looking at the beautiful white roots :D

Hi guys,
I'm a few days behind with the update but here it finally is :D
Before I started working on them over the week, I switched the top around to be able to introduce all 70L of water. I've also decided to replace some plants so the bigger plants have more space to grow near the smallest ones.
The plant was topped a few days ago, it recovered like a champ after 24h. Actually it didn't look like it was an issue at all. So a few days later I decided to defoliate the plant before I main-line it. The roots are bigger with every day.
It looks like it starts to preflower so I'll probably introduce a small amount of flowering nutes today or tomorrow. It's also the second biggest plant of all 7. It looks healthy and strong, what can I say more :D I'm truly happy how good it looks for now.
No fuckups no more from last season. Everything seems to be on point. And please tell me how much you should not train Automatic strains 😂 It's as easy as it gets. You just have to make sure that you stop at the right time but topping, mainlining, defoliation, stem bending and stem pinching are all working as it would in normal feminized genetics.

Okay, the last one of the bunch. The great Runtz!
Last week it looked long branches and a few leaves, this week it fuckin exploded. I've started training her a few days earlier and it's the second plant with a split in between the topped new main branches. I patched it up by holding them together with tape. It seems to do the job, that's nothing uncommon, just a happy little accident that will strengthen the plant in the future. I know I should've started mainlining her a week earlier but i didn't feel like it. So it is what it is. The only thing that can happen is, that it'll maybe take a few days longer to finish than what it normally should.
Overall it's in a great shape. As soon as it starts shooting out flowers, I'll start shooting them for your pleasure :D

Hi Guys,
I'm truly happy with the development of Runtz because it germinated after 4 days and I didn't know what to think of that (despite the fact that it's still in a normal germination timeframe). I'm a bit shocked that it's the biggest plant right next to Auto Amnesia in the same tent but in the other res.
I defoliate all the leaves that are covering bud sites, I feed it bloom nutes for the second week now. It's doing great and the growing conditions this season are all on point which makes me super happy. I'm also considering on moving her to another place beacuse right now she's at the back of the tent and I want it to have more space to develop when I put a SCROG net over all the plants.

Hi guys,
This week I did something special. Something y'all probably gonna argue, but I did it anyway. I defoliated the shiiiiiiit out of every single plant in the tent 😎, a few weeks into blooming. I had the urge to lollipop the plants and start focusing the plants' energy distribution to the main stems and only the biggest forming branches and buds. Only time will tell if it was a good idea, but I took into consideration the fact that I'm running a pretty nice DWC setup and the plants are practically on point every single week. They are looking really good.
I also added 30 Liters of water with nutrients, they seem to dig it. The pH and PPM are also on point. They look super happy so the recovery time should be minimal, like less than 24h because of the knowledge from all the other defoliations (not that heavy tho) before this season.
So that's it for this week. Please comment on the uber heavy defoliation this week. What's your opinion? I wanna know!

Hi guys,
here's another update of the Runtz! The defoliation did a great job on the plant. It didn't even have to bounce back and the energy went straight to the buds. A week after, the buds look definitely thicker. 3 plants drink around 20L of water with nutrients per week (one res). Having Zkittlez / Runtz and Red Pure Auto CBD in the same res makes it a perfect match because all 3 of them smell extremely amazing. The super citrusy smell from the Red Pure Auto CBD, through the sweet smelling Zkittlez to the ultra fruity Runtz, this run is a blast! I really can't say much else that I've been loving this run very much so far. The conditions are on point, the plants are super happy, so am I.
BTW. Even tho the buds are only starting to form, the macro shots look yummy! So check'em out! :)

Ouh Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to another update of the infamous Runtz. It has gained the crown for the biggest motherfucker in town aka the biggest plant in the tent. It looks like it's getting muscles... Finally. It should be the biggest yield in a few weeks from the bunch
I'll update the gallery with some macro shots as soon as I have the time to process them. One of the shots tho, is superb!

Hi guys,
my plant is around 2-3 week before harvest.
What is the cause of the these dry spots on some of the smallest sugar leaves on my plant?
The ppm might be too much and is around 1200-1300ppm.
PH is 6.0-6.1
I've spotted it on one other plant in the same reservoir.

Looks like phosphorus deficiency. You are also feeding too much nitrogen. In flowering a npk ratio of 1-2-3 is best till you get the hang of nutrition amounts. Change the water with a high diet in potassium and phosphorus and minimum nitrogen since you ate pretty rich on it. Ph about 6.2 to 6.3 range is better as well. Good luck and should stop those signs once done. 🌱

Man I love this grow season so much! There are a few small hiccups here and there but that's normal when you have 3 plants in a single reservoir. But thanks to the great GD community, I know what's up, and I adjust. Just look at it!
Runtz is happy :D The buds are getting denser with every week, they already look sooo yummy. I can't wait for it to try :D It now has definitely the crown for the biggest Auto this season, surpassing Amnesia Haze from the second reservoir!
It looks like it will produce around 150g at least (hopefully I'm not over exaggerating) :D I just have high hopes for the Runtz. I think it'll be ready for harvest in abour 2-3 weeks.

Welcome to another update on the Runtz!
These are the final weeks of this plants life and it seems that this is going to be the biggest automatic plant I've grown so far. I'd love it to be around 140g dry because it looks like half a kilogram of trimmed fresh buds when I harvest it. I still see some potential in it to grow even thicker buds. I'm also very curious about the effects of this plant because Runtz and Zkittlez are my special little pet plants I really want to enjoy fully and since all the people praise these cali strains, I hopefully be able to taste some bomb ass weed when the right time comes!

Alright guys,
this is the final week of the RUNTZ! I can't wait for it. A few days ago I've chopped down Red Pure Auto CBD and Zkittlez from the same reservoir and I had a tough time deciding if I should just cut straight through the root system of all 3 plants to separate them from each other or if its better to try to separate them with my hands and try to minimize the root damage. So it's a risky undertaking but it has to be done. I chose to use my hands and it seemed to work because after a few days, the plant is still getting bigger so thanks to the great hydroponic system to make the recovery a breeze if I can call it that way :P Runtz is the biggest Automatic plant this season and it all looks like half a kilogram of trimmed wet buds, so it should get me around 130-150g of great flowers.
I cross my fingers for not only this one but for all of them :)
This grow season was a blast. At the end of it I had a minor issue but nothing that would degrade the final product! I strongly believe that it's due to Orca and the knowledge that I've gained from the second season! Hopefully I'll be able to do an even better job next time after applying what I've learned this season :)
