Blue Gelato 41 DWC trial run

Shorter update now, bigger update during smoke report coming soon... This was my first DWC and because I'm still new with growing in general, I have quickly made the decision that DWC hydroponics is for me! The speed and ease of the entire process is un matched in soil. Adjustments can be made in the fly. No salt build up to worry about. It's also a cleaner process with no "dirt" to worry about. There is still an understanding and details that need met. Aeration of tap water is a must as well as using synthetic nutrients meant for hydroponics. pH is effected by several things and will constantly fluctuate. Temperature is important to keep under 75 or IMO under 73 degrees. Removing your water pump from the grow tent is an easy way to lesson the temp of the air into the water. Changing the water every 7 days is critical especially if you cannot always guarantee pH is within 5.5-6.5..briefly being out of range is not very harmful so replacing the entire pot with a fresh mix of nutrients once a week and only topping with fresh aerated water on the days in between. Allow the water to get at least to the bottom half of the root ball before each watering. This will promote root growth during this time with no damage as the water is always spitting moisture and the area above the water is very humid and moist keeping the roots wet all over. Quick final note. Dwc grows fast, be prepared to drill your buckets so you have a place to tie to for lst or plan scrog nets. Either a drain system is needed or a fluid transfer pump to empty the pots as eventually there size make it hard to remove the plant just to dump the bucket for a refill so planning ahead for this is a must. I pop my lid, slide it over and stick a fluid transfer pump in to remove and refill the pots. Absolutely thrilled with hydro and the bud is the most dank I have ever smelled. Very great grow from start to finish. A few months of veg and 9-10 weeks of flower. A few bananas came out in the pheno type that developed more fox taily (pheno #2 or plant to the right) Smoke report!!! *Pheno #1 is super rock hard dense buds. Some really nice buds and plenty of perfect smaller compact buds. Very low on leaf and stem count. You can't ask for much better quality. The smell is very skunky with some berry like scent. Og weed scent in the air will literally ruin your entire room with 1 small jar of it. The taste is slightly skunky with a lightly early and berry flavor. Very smooth actually. I love that the skunk taste is still present. This is something I look for. Very stoney feel at first then settles into a very focused feel. Relieves aches/pains and will eliminate stress or anxiety. I love it! Any time smoke. I didn't sleep immediately on it but when I did I was out all night however I don't find it to be a night time strain. **Pheno #2 very happy hear even though the buds formed very clumpy and fox trialed during grow. The bud has some very large, thick chunky pieces. It's more soft to touch than anything. Not rock hard dense but very tolerable soft touch. It had a sweet blueberry like scent. Not much to much weed on the nose but in the air it makes a room stink like weed/skunk. When you smoke it, it's very good. smooth as can be and burns excellent. The taste is absolutely blueberry bud! Not much skunk maybe a very slightly earlthy or pastry like background smothered in true blue berry flavour that is a little sweet on the tongue but not sharp and tart, just rich. This makes u so stoned for 15+minutes. Wow I was ripped like Racey high. It really settled down fast when I sat down and got lost for 40 minutes reading about growing! I was so focused. This shit makes Bob Ross paint for hours. Get the job done with this smoke! It's a day timer for sure. Makes u feel right in the zone. I wouldn't necessarily say energetic but give me more time to try it in other situations! I'm way happier with this pheno than originally expected. Bag appeal doesn't always mean it's better! Yielded over 4 ounces! Blue gelato 41 is AWESOME and everyone should grow it, smoke it and share it. Beware of her MASSIVE stretch especially in solid conditions. This plant loved hydroponics and so will you if you give it a chance. Dwc is very practical at home. Great journey I'm so thankful everyday for this plant and the opportunity to grow it.
